The idea of all these toddlers just booking back to their seats from the concessions stand because they heard the beginning notes of "Love is an Open Door" is way more amusing than it should be lol. Also the host repeatedly getting the magic word wrong while Dan just has to sit there and rethink his life decisions until that moment was priceless

I work at the venue were disney on ice is being held this weekend, and when olaf came out, the kids just went mental.. for like 5 min, cheering amd clapping.....He was more popular then mickey

Disney on Ice is absolutely amazing, and like you said, it’s like having the park magic right at your door. I went when I was a child, but didn’t remember a thing, so when I took my kids a few years ago, I just assumed it would be people in costumes ice dancing to Disney songs. Boy was I wrong! It’s not just ice skating, it’s an entire show and production, more like a montage of many different mini-plays. Highly recommend, 10/10! Also, for newbies, find some glow sticks and other light up items at the dollar store before you go and give those to your kids instead of paying $30+ for some cheap light up crap sold at the arena.

I agree, if you want to bring a light-up stick to Disney on Ice, you should probably consider purchasing a color-changing glow stick that people at Japanese concerts use, if they come in time and you can afford it. Are they bland-looking? Maybe, but you can change the colors to match a specific segment or character in the show, and when a song is playing, you can use it to dance along and coordinate with the music, as shown in recordings of Japanese concerts! 🥰

Every year, my mom and I go to see the Disney on Ice show to celebrate my birthday. This year something very funny happened, it was so funny, Disney Dan! 😆😁 All of the little boys there had the exact same look on their faces, like they were thinking, "I've been tricked!" In fact, when my mother and I were leaving to go back to our car, I heard a little boy (probably around six or seven years old) say, "Mommy, you said that we were going to go see Mickey! Not a bunch of princes and princesses!" And then, the mom said, Well, they came to keep Mickey and his friends other companied." 😂🤣

I finally got to go back to Disney on Ice in 2019 for the first time since I was really little. It was actually really fun… my friend and I got our picture up on the photo wall. I probably cheered more times than I should have haha

Growing up my grandma would take me to Disney On Ice every year. I looked forward to it more than my birthday or Christmas. I still go to Disney On Ice when it comes to town.

In 2015, I moved to Japan, and right before I left my friend and I went to Disney on Ice when it was in our city. It was one of the last things we did together before I left. It was a really amazing time and so special.

I wish they'd bring back some of the older ones like Pocahontas and Jasmine, but the ones at your showing looked just like I remembered!!

@@invaderpez12 Disney on Ice is performed in Asia. Japan is always their first country they tour, Disney on Ice shows in Asia are always revamped. Like in 2017 when 100 Years of Magic was called Everyone's Story and in 2019 Dare to Dream (now Into the Magic) was called Live Your Dreams for their Asian tour.

"Where Snow White and Princess and the Frog once stood in the 2002 production" ... Princess and the Frog didn't come out until 2008. lol. I loved when I went to see Disney on ice in 2017. It was super fun. Thanks for always making these videos so engaging and informative. Edit: You don't have a Disney Store anymore? Mine still is around, luckily.

Being an old man now (born 1980), I remember Disney on Ice being way more intricate in sets, story and costuming. The shows also used to have one cohesive story/theme (Sports Goofy, Donald’s Birthday) or would focus on re-telling one of their animated classics (Aladdin, Beauty & the Beast) in full. Now, they are just water downed “greatest hits” jukebox shows with very minimal sets. I remember their were multiple giant sets, props and usually one or two GIGANTIC hot hair balloon props. In fact, one year they had a super huge Monstro balloon on the Pinocchio show that swallowed Gepetto and gave kids nightmares. I will give them points for costuming still being on point, though.

I’m here for reviews of all these! The last time I saw Amy Disney ice shows had to be in the 90s. I saw a Beauty and the Beast one, and the other was something with Max Goof and a whole weird random movie mashup. The shows are a great way for people to get Disney magic without traveling to the parks, but there are always going to be interesting flaws

Oh that one! The one where Max Goof becomes a Sorcerer alongside Sorcerer Mickey. I never saw that one but I heard a LOT of great things about that one. I really wish I was born in the ‘90s to see some of the old ones.

When i was little (so probably 2008-2013), my parents would take me to disney on ice every year. One year i remember one of the princesses gave me a plastic rose (each of the like, 4 princesses that were there gave a rose to one kid in one of the 4 corners, like how you were in a corner seat) and i felt like i was the most special kid in the whole world in that moment. I also remember we would get souvenir cups, most of the time, and we could never fully wash the taste of shaved ice (because that's what was usually in them at the shows) out

Walt Disney’s Great Ice Odyssey (1982) was a surreal experience. Especially enjoyed these shoes when they were all new and had a cohesive theme for each production. Had to finally step away from yearly visits when the same segments keep being used. Where enjoyable, can’t justify the investment of attending for one new segment.

Feld (the company that produces all the Disney on Ice shows) is all about the merch. They make 90% of their profits in merch and concessions. They also design and produce all the merch in-house, and just pay licensing fees to the franchises. If something goes wrong/ a performer gets hurt, they have a light cue that points all the lights into the audience and they send staff with merch and popcorn down the aisles to distract.

Disney on ice is a tradition for myself and my friend’s daughter. It always seems to be in town around her birthday, I think the last show that came was Be your Hero. It featured Princess and the frog for one song, and that woke me up from the frozen hangover. They all had the Maleficent dragon on the ice and the ice was set on fire, I think they pour lighter fluid on to the ice as you can see the outline once the fire starts.

Kinda sad there isn't an Encanto segment. Imagine how cool WDTAB would be with decent ice choreo and projections. Especially Camilo's part! I'm actually surprised they didn't try to shovel it in but maybe Encanto will get it's own show standalone show like Frozen or Tangled.

When I was younger we couldn't afford to go to disneyland. But these would come to town around my birthday and every year my mom would take me. Back then the tickets were only $20 and you could take in your own food. So these shows are absolutely nostalgic for me.💙 Side brag note: i now make enough to have bought my Mom ma her own dream key and now we go every 3 weeks😊. I love my Momma 💙💙💙

One time a friend of mine when in a front seat to a DoI production back in 2021 and brought her Japanese glow stick to interact with characters that came near her seat (one of which was Kristoff). She had a lot of fun! 😄

Gosh we went to SO MANY of the DoI shows when I was a kid. The last one any of us went to was my dad took my little sister to see Toy Story 2 if I remember right. Then a couple of years ago we took my niece to see one and it was a medley like this. It didn't do shortened shows though, just like one or two songs from each film? I remember it had a Nightmare Before Christmas segment with Jack doing What's This? And let me tell you, I was mesmerized with the energy and stunts this guy did and I can't imagine it was easy with that mask. We also took her to see the Frozen full show but I haven't been back sense. The one I remember most from when I was a kid though was The Little Mermaid full show we saw. I even had a program I wore out from flipping through the pages just about any time I came across it.

When I was little, in the 90s, we went inside and saw Snow White on ice in Pittsburgh. In the course of the show, The prince sings the Fox from Danny Kaye's Court Jester. People around us were amazed that we knew the song, when it hadn't been part of the original movie of SW. Also, I still have the glow in the dark sword we got at the gift shop. The stickers are gone but The sword still works.

Ahh I went to a Disney on Ice show as a kid! It was like safari themed? I remember that we had Tarzan and The Lion King. Best part as a little kid though, during the opening of the show some kids were picked from the audience to ride around the ice in a little fake safari car and I was picked and it was amazing! I bought a little Minnie plush in a safari outfit, and when I was in the little car Minnie came up to me pantomiming that she liked the plush and I just had the best day ever. This must be almost 15 years ago, and I almost forgot about this, so thank you for helping me remember with this video!

I took my kids to see the let's celebrate show in May. The frozen segment was entirely too long. It was basically the whole movie. By the time intermission came along they were over it and ready to go. But the second half changed their minds.

I’ve only ever been to DoI three times as a child. Beauty & the Beast, Mickey & Minnie’s Valentine Travel thingy, then…That again but slightly different. Had a great fun time at all of em! I was obsessed w/ the character head shaped cups they used for the ice “cones”, I have a load of those, the Mickey and Stitch cups are still my favourite ones ^_^

An Encanto version of doi should be very easy but interesting, like the costumes are very simple except Luisa, would be good of them to use more projection mapping on ice and set, Luisa is the only non human size skater probably gonna be a suit like Maui with some modified proportions.

we just had this show in the UK but it was quite different from this version. the UK one had beauty and the beast, toy story, moana, coco, aladdin, little mermaid and frozen. most of them didn't tell the stories it was just one or two songs from each film other than moana and frozen which had even more condensed versions of the stories than what you had. the costumes overall were also different, our maui was a lot shorter and more squished looking haha definitely a great show though. my favourite part was the kiss the girl with them doing aerial and on ice routine. legit almost cried it was so pretty

shame they didn't also have the two-person Sven for the Frozen section. i saw the full Frozen On Ice show and oh man is that suit amazing up close. there's a scripted bit in the finale where Kristoff sits on that corner piece and gets licked in the face to death by Sven, and Sven stared directly at me like "watch how i'm bout to murder this boy" before he did it and it was perfect

Wouldn it be cool to see villains in this show? It would be called Villains on ice with; Jafar, Hades, Maleficent, Izma, Gaston, Madam Mime, Lady Tremaine, Honest John and Facilier. They could capture Mickey and his friends, all the princesses including Mirabel would fight them. Sounds fun to me! The show usually follows the movies, seeing something new would be nice 😃

i still have my souvenir programs from 2003-5ish!!! i have no memory of the show, but looking at the costumes they used makes me laugh. update: i found the program on ebay! i’m away from my parent’s house so i don’t have the programs on me. looks like it had aladdin, finding nemo, “a rose is a rose” (???), beauty and the beast, classic princesses, toy story, it’s a small world, “mickey leads the band”, pinocchio, mulan, the incredibles, and the lion king. seems like too much information to be thrown at a two-year-old if you ask me.

Oh hey! I went to this with my mom. We enjoyed it. Although, we got to see Tangled do some Areial Acrobatics over the ice, which was beautiful. Did your viewing not have this? Our local ice arena is smallish and built for hockey. The ice and only level of arena seats are dug into the ground, surrounded by a main level that has all the concession stands, stores, a bar, etc. That to say: we sat in a handicap section on the main level in a 'corner' of the oval, and it was pretty good for 'far away' seats.
