Disney Designer Collection Thoughts (Short Version) 

I actually really like the Belle one because it’s supposed to represent the rose in the glass dome, so the bright read dress covered in a sheer fabric actually “works” for that effect. Pocahontas got colonized again tho wtf

Okay but why is Mulan wearing something more Japanese instead of something more from her dynasty? The Wei period?

The second Tiana look is PEAK perfection for this collection!

As a Native American when I look at Pocahontas's design it makes me feel like she got colonized again. I wish the designers used more Native American aspects rather than just fringe, for example putting her in a traditional Native American dress or adding turquoise jewelry and color accents. All in all I feel like the designers missed the mark.

I regret not getting Mulan. I’m obsessed with her character and her doll is probably my favorite or one of my favorites even objectively speaking.

Oh god Pocahontas what did they do to you AGAIN 😭 they could’ve done the simplest of research for Native American dresses they are beautiful

My favorite was Sleeping Beauty because I liked the concept of her being in pajamas.

Cinderella looks like she’s about to walk out into a balcony and start singing “Don’t cry for me, Argentina” also, I think Moana’s look is cute. It looks like she’s in prom court.

Mulan's sleeves look a little too Japanese for me. I would've liked one of those princess dresses from the Tang dynasty.

The long black eyelashes on Merida bother me so much, it's silly but it's truuue 😭😅 The Ariel red hair isn't doing it for me, either

I honestly love Merida and some aspects of her outfit I really enjoy and ik this is just a designer line but I wish they would've put her in something that I feel like would suit her more 😭😭 idk how else to explain it....all these dolls are stunning tho!

I know there’s a lot of overlap of Chinese and Japanese traditional dress, but this looks a little Too much like a Japanese Kimono. And if a kimono is what inspired the dress, she shouldn’t have those long trailing sleeves since she’s canonically Married. I would have loved to see her in a modern Hanfu design. Moana’s feels a bit low effort and Pocahontas just looks bad. Thats dress is hideous. I’m personally not a fan of Snow Whites dress, it looks off for her young face to be in such a grown up dress. Cinderellas face sculpt just looks like a Barbie to me. I love Merida, Tiana, Jasmine, and Both looks for Ariel and Aurora. Bella is cute but I would have liked more gold in her outfit.

Rapunzel looks like glinda and I'm kinda here for it. I can imagine her being obsessed with the big flooffy dresses after being looked in a tower for years with one dress. Like twirling in flooffy dresses is so fun

What did Snow White ever do to you??

I LOVE the ariel design- I think the little shell as the underskirt with the sea foam green tulle washing over it is so pretty and tells such a cohesive story. Moana, however, i don't like. It reads more Mexican than Polynesian. Really wish they went in a different direction there.

The brave one is my absolute favorite

The Belle one could have worked if they just had yellow intead of red. They were really obsessed with red in this line and it shows. I like it on some, but not all. Also, Rapunzel should have had a purple dress with hints of the golden sun, or just sun symbols on the dress somewhere.☀️

mulan & tiana are my favorite disney princesses & they unbiasly have my favorite dolls in this series lol. i thought rapunzel was cute but the flower on her head was the only thing i felt was misplaced. i liked that cinderella was in pants & i liked the color scheme for belle. that's basically all i feel about these LOL definitely overpriced imo but i would've totally gottan mulan & the first tiana doll

Idk, don't think Merida would be caught dead with a purse (like, sure, she's forced into pretty dresses, but she'd definitely want something that doesn't burden her movement)

As a polynesian. I do not like Moanas one at all. It looks more African inspired rather than polynesian.

Jasmine's outfit was a bit of a disappointment, honestly. Desi fashion is gorgeous, and I love its many accessories and sparkles. I understand the designer is Western, though, and may feel out of his depth and/or worried to misrepresent other cultures...but I think that ship sailed with Pocahontas. 😂

I like the Pocahontas one a lot except im not really a fan of the flair thing around the head because I'm still very practicality minded with fashion.

I’m Samoan and honestly they shouldve studied more of traditional Samoan clothing instead of meshing it in that dress.

Particularly with the skirt/pants on Elsa, both she and Anna look like Regina from "Once Upon a Time," and idk if I mean that as a good thing or a bad thing, but so far I love it lol

I detest that first Aurora doll in the choker. The way they designed her face, styled her hair, and gave her that choker- the first time I saw her, it took me a minute to figure out who it was even supposed to be. Also, in clearer images, her dress looks so cheap. The skirt isn't sheer but it's translucent to the extent that it looks unfinished. They should've added an interior liner so the underside would look interesting. I hate the pants-suit Cinderella. The outfit is too blah and her hair is the wrong color. That first Ariel with the sheer skirt is... Not what she could be. The character herself does have some baby hairs, like what the doll has, but the lack of fluffy bangs that make her a "no." At least the other one's hair has some volume.

Ugghhh I don't like the majority of them.... Jasmine's... ( is it even her ? I genuinely couldn't tell ) dress is beautiful but I'm expecting a middle eastern inspired looking one rather than what she wears which looks more chinese to me Pocahontas always get the short end of the stick... Is third one Ariel ? She's beautiful. I like this one Mulan's is beautiful but the sleeve kinda looks more like it's kimono inspired and it kinda rubs me the wrong way given Mulan's story and god knows what the Japanese did to the Chinese. It'd be better if this is hanfu inspired instead The fourth one is Tiana if I'm not wrong ? Her eye colour is brown fron what I remember but grey in here so I might be wrong. Perfect just perfect. Aurora is beautiful but that's it. Merida's is great but the eyelashes are too much Moana is cute but ehh that's it. I love snow white but this is so ugly and doesn't tell anything about her story I really like the Rapunzel's one, it's totally my type Cinderella is ugly to me, mixing pants with the dress that she wears just make it look awkward to me I agree with you about belle Yup agree with you about the second aurora Another amazing one from tiana Yeah it is beautiful but compared with the last one, it's rather boring
