So loooong RED! Miss Vanessa is here in all her fabulousness and evilness! I have always loved Vanessa as a character, and I feel like she doesn't get a lot of love. I cannot wait to show you guys how I translated Jessica's Vanessa into my own Little Mermaid Live Action realm, and they look sooo amazing together!

Such a beautiful doll. The face, the hair, the silhouette. The more historic skirt shape works so well with the Disney princess top. and the victory rolls are great with this look. As a dress history nerd I must say this is a great example of something that isn't historical at all (because it isn't meant to be of course) but invokes the feeling of the world. It fits in the world of the little mermaid. It clearly shows the style of the designer but it has all the important details so we know who it is when we see it. It's invoking the animated dress instead of competing with it. I think most live action remakes try too hard to reinvent the iconic costumes. Hextian's version is great character design

My gosh, that face up is just exquisite! Imperious yet elegant and so perfect! (Also, is anyone else a little obsessed with Hextian’s hairstyle while making the doll? She is stunning! This actually brought tears to my eyes. I have been obsessed with the little mermaid since it came out when I was a teen. The original Little Mermaid was always my favorite fairy tale. I read it over and over when I was a child. This doll finally does Vanessa Justice. Just beautiful!

She is stunning!! A tip from a fellow crafter who also has a love/hate relationship with glitter: Swiffer dusters and Swiffer wipes are your new best friend. They can pick it up with no issue. I always keep them on hand when working with glitter.

I had my doubts about the victory roll hair but seeing it at the end actually made her look more mysterious and gave off “dark enchantress” vibes which she basically is. You killed it!
