I remember hearing Bumble Boogie on the radio. It was my favorite song by far as a little kid. When I saw this on the big screen in the theater I was totally blown away. It is still my favorite song. I have it on my iPod for working out and I bought the DVD version of Melody Time.
I just realized that this is a tribute to the earlier Rubber Hose style of animation. It mimics the absurd, big-eyed horror of early experimental animation. Take a look at the bee’s proportions vs the characters in the other Melody Time shorts and you’ll notice a HUGE difference.
I vaguely remember watching the New Micky Mouse Club, I think back in the 80s, there was a young girl sitting at the piano to introduce this video but I was under the impression that SHE played the piano in this piece while the video played. Now, I'm not so sure.

Il fatto è che c'era tempo fa sul suito, poi però l'han tolto e non avevo più mosdo di visionarlo (in realtà ho la cassetta ma è persa nei meandri). Questo breve cartone mi colpì moltissimo da piccolo. Il calabrone così spaventato, quei voli lisergici, la canzone eccezionale. Grandissimo. Lo inserisco subito nei preferiti, così non lo perdo più.

man, Disney joined nothing but the best artists. not people who did ok, but the absolute best. the top artists, musicians, everything. pure greatness existed in these years. no way in hell is anything like this ever gonna happen again. i'm so depressed. to quote the poni-tails, WHY WAS I BORN TOO LATE?!? and yes i have to agree w/ u, Lassannn, 3 people are dumb fuckin assholes. gotta say it, it's unbearably true.

I remember the wind through my hair, running by Pocahontas. I remember being locked in the Beast's castle. I remember laughing and having fun with Mickey and his friends.
