@@TheForceFandom I bring in Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell and bring up the points that the OT is basically the human story and George Lucas intended those mythological and psychological elements. I immediately get shot down or dismissed because most folks I run into don’t think it’s that deep. To them, SW is just a flavor or a skin you can top something with.
Question for the Content Creator: Is Star Wars better served by EU/Legends material or by the newer, evolving canon? I have been around from the beginning. I have consumed lots of the material. Originally, I was solely focused on canon. But, I am being drawn more and more away toward the EU.
I'm so sad with Star Wars, growing up I loved Star Wars, experienced the prequels in theater as a kid, wore out the VHS boxset of the OT. I still think KOTOR is one of the best video games ever made... Disney has done good things, Rogue One, Andor, Mando s1&2. On the other hand, they've poorly managed the franchise as a whole and absolutely destroyed the fan base.
As a lifelong Star Wars fan, I've almost checked out at this point. I liked Mando, somewhat liked Obi-Wan (just as a stand alone), Rogue One and that's mostly it. Didn't hate Boba Fett as well. But whenever I hear about a new project I just don't get excited the way I used to. I think it needs to go away for a few years and make a triumphant return.
I checked out after the Force Awakens. I mean I watched the other Star Wars movies Disney made just to have confirmed what I already knew for sure 100% after seeing The Force Awakens: Disney just makes bad, uncreative, soulless ‘fan’fic. I haven’t watched any of their shows. Too painful.
@@mabusestestament at the time I was excited to see TFA because of all the original trilogy nostalgia but I soon realized that it was just a cheap rehash of A New Hope. And don't get me started on Rise of Skywalker. That movie is an affront to humanity. Your life is better having avoided most of those projects.
