This looks really cool! I am a Disney FREAK, and the Jungle Cruise is one of my favorite rides, so this may actually be a great game for me. I started watching the video with some skepticism. But, now I am thinking about putting it on my wish list!
Love Disney, love Prospero Hall. Obviously going to buy this one. I'd love to see Prospero Hall take on other Disney rides. The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones...
I'm sure they had carefully timed this to be out in same timeframe as the new Jungle Cruise movie originally set to release in July 2020 and now pushed to a new release date in 2021 now. That's unfortunate for them to miss out on that extra marketing boost as that movie looks fun! :( #StupidCovid
Man, your videos are great. This game looks fun! I love the "last person to tell a joke" and "youngest player then clockwise" mechanics. I was tempted by this the other day in Target, but I wanted to find out more before I did anything, so you've been helpful, as always. My one question: I don't understand why you'd need to declare whether you are rescuing a passenger or taking a supply crate at an outpost before looking at the outpost supplies. It's always the same three supplies, isn't it? And you know what other people took when they stopped there? If there's no gotcha! mechanic in play there, the declaration intent seems pointless.
Thanks for the kind words Reed! I think you'll find in practice (unless you have a fantastic memory), that you'll lose track of exactly which pieces remain at each place, as the game goes on.
Prospero Hall has done it again!! IP games that are actually awesome. 1) Tons of theme 2) awesome Art 3) somehow captures the feel and flavor of the IP 4) new or at least unexpected mechanics like in this one: the family clues and how they help at the end. The first player to reach the end and it’s NOT game over, but they take a coin each turn that would be theirs?!!! Brilliant!!! 5) other stuff...just so cool.

You have done it again. Watch it Played is my go to for all my game instructions . I leave other sites knowing as much about game play as when I went in. But with your site I know exactly how to play. Between your demeanor, and humor not only is learning the game easy, it is fun as well. I have been watching board game instructions for years. Board Game Brawl, Board to Death, and the Dice Tower were ones I went to first, sadly some of these are no longer around, but I have Ben watching you for games as far back as Summoner Wars, and you are by far the tops at what you do. Keep up the great work.

We had confusion as to when you draw a lost and found... is it when you first land on the empty space or at the end of your turn? Rules make it sound like beginning but you make it sound like end.

I've really been enjoying this Ravensberger line of IP games - Jaws / Jurassic Park / Horrified / Villainous. Plus you can often find them at Target or Barnes & Noble for $15 or less.
This game seemed slow going until Rodney picked up the "Temple" tempo. The dice aren't the only things that will be rolling. The jokes will too. Looks like I will have to cruise to the nearest game store to buy this. What happens if you "Tie" in this game? My stomach is in "knots" thinking about it.
My brother gave me a gift card for DISNEY, and I am finding something interesting. Something that is not a shirt, sweatshirt, or shorts. I'd get a shirt, but that's only for one and I do not know size online, so I guess I'll get this game! It looks really fun and different!
Can you purposely leave cargo sections empty? There is a “tip” in the instructions that says “empty boat sections can encounter plenty of dangerous things without losing cargo or passengers” but can’t see what would happen. We just made a house rule that when you re-organize you have to have something in each section
If you have an empty spot on your boat, you may choose one additional action to take: • Take one Cargo of your choice from that Outpost. • Take a Lost Passenger and put them on your boat.
Hey Jack, you deal with navigating the river first, then deal with the outpost, and one of the steps in the outpost is flipping your flare so you'd get to immediately refill it.
I’m trying to figure out how to use the “Explorer” Skipper card could you please explain the specific use of using it as it is a WARNING FLARE parallels it! Example does it mean you always keep your Warning Flare because you have the Explorer Skipper card???

I believe it's not as powerful as it first seems since you have to use it in conjunction with the warning flare which can't be reloaded until the next outpost. So, it can only help you with one of multiple encounters on one turn. IMHO
How do you score cargo for the trader if there are a set of 3? Is it 10? 11? 13? Each cargo is worth an extra point according to the skipper card. Thanks!
You would still score the sets the same way, but then if it's saying each cargo token is worth an extra point, you'd gain a point for each cargo token you have. Make sense?
BIG QUESTION!!! If you have the specialty card “Rescue” that says, “Whenever you would draw a Lost & Found token, you may choose to rescue a Lost Passenger instead.” Can you continue to rescue passengers after all of the Lost & Found tickets are gone?? (All the other skippers get nothing at the end of their turn, can that person continue to rescue a passenger at the end of their turns?) - please help! Hippos everywhere... Boat sinking...
Sorry for the delay, had to check with the publisher on this one! If somehow there are no tokens, the Rescue skipper could still rescue a lost passenger.
@@WatchItPlayed - publisher, meaning Ravensburger?? If that card is used, the Rescue Skipper would ALWAYS be the winner (at least when 4 people are playing) because the “Lost and Found” tokens run out and Rescue keeps collecting 3 or 5 points (a passenger) per turn while the rest of the skippers are not gaining anything, but most likely loosing (cargo or passengers).
@@melaniesigel8462 This sounds like something that you might want to adjust when playing then. It seems like maybe this power doesn't work so well at a 4 player count.

Yep. You always draw and reveal 4 cards, and then you encounter as many of them as your rolled speed. So if you rolled 3, you're pick which 3 to encounter. If you rolled 2, you'd pick 2 of them to encounter.
But the rules also say, you always pick 4 but only encounter as many as you MOVE, not roll. If you roll 4 and move one to an outpost or clue you must stop. Then you pick 4 cards but only encounter 1.
Hey Rodney,great video as always but after watching several play throughs I see it played two different ways. In your video (which I'm thinking is the correct version) you land at spot,deal with the navigation cards ,THEN resolve the landing spot. In other videos they resolve the space THEN do the navigation cards..... which is it in your experience? THANK YOU!!

Quick question! This is something that we debated on after playing the game for the first time today since the rules were not very clear. Are we allowed to rescue only the lost passengers from our boat, or can we pick up passengers that were kicked off from our opponents' boats? Happy New Year, by the way! :)
I have the same question. We keep all our boats lost passengers together on the side of the board. The way it’s displayed here it’s only the passengers from your boat and I’m guessing each boat keeps their lost passengers on their side. I just though we’ll it’s a river so all the lost passengers would be in it. So should it be just ones from your boat?
The directions aren't specific so...If I were the skipper in a real jungle and encountered a lost person, I would welcome them aboard regardless of where they came from.
In the rulebook under Encounters in the Jungle, one of the last lines reads, “You may not draw Lost & Found tokens until the start of your next turn.” Is this an error in the rulebook?
I know I’m two years late to this party but we debated that point that so much. It made the game way more confusing. We couldn’t figure out when we got tokens, if we were even entitled to them, etc. Glad I came here for answers. That’s a big error in the rule book imo.
