Let's talk about the real truth here. The stark doom comic only works if there is a established doom to begin with. This isn't doom this is evil Tony. MCU has no doom so hard pass.

I always said this, there is such thing as someone being paid wayyy too much money, but if there is someone like RDJ who was the face of a multi-Billion dollar franchise and practically carried it on his back for a decade or so, then I'd say he deserves it. Countless people paid to watch HIM on screen. He is literally HIM. I can't complain about some like that. There are a ton of other people who get paid a ton and don't deserve it. And hey, he's practically robbing Disney/Marvel now so fuck it. He should get paid a ton more out of Disney's desperation.

I know a small number of Romani. Most of the Romani I know are half Romani strictly speaking (i.e. a Romani parent and a non-Romani parent), if you didn't know they were Romani you'd say many of them are caucasians. The ones I know look much like "whites" with a tan, unless you're looking for specific features (which are common in Romani, but also appear in other "white" ethnic groups) you won't notice them. And that Doom is "part Romani" means he's largely _not_ Romani. Based on my familiarity with half-Romani, it doesn't take long for the Romani traits to become easily missed, unless you know to look for them.
If anyone can make a good MCU movie again, it's Russo Bros with RDJ. At this point, they only need a good script. It's not impossible for them to pull this off. I'm going to be cautiously optimistic about this. I mean, think about it: WTF else were they going to do?! Feige and company could have finally learned all their lessons, they got their shit figured out They still don't have any real proven crowd drawers anymore. The best they've got is Hemsworth, but they've made a laughing stock out of Thor, making ANOTHER Thor movie would be very risky. So if you're Iger, and shareholders are fucking furious, all you've got left are hail mary plays. D&W is good, it's going to put some gas back in the tank. Just enough to pay for one more massive hail mary. So you play it safe, but you go big and you give Russo Bros carte blanche. If they could get Marcus and McFeely back to write the script, they pretty much have all they need to at the very least get people excited about the Avengers again. Go watch the Winter Soldier again, tell me you wouldn't love to see a new movie made by the same dudes who feel they have a mandate to save their legacy from the woke mob, as Deadpool put it. The Russo Brothers are being paid more than Deadpool's budget, more than Joker's budget. And if RDJ being paid $200 mill is true, then Disney's overly bloated budget is going to get FAR worse.
8:50, on that point, in the original Secret Wars, Kang was such a c tier villain, Dr. Doom Killed him, resurrected him, and sent him home because at that point, he was powerless to stop Victor. So making Kang the villain of an entire saga of films was, ironically from the get-go, a waste of Time. I want my money back!
Dr. Doom has been relevant for around 64 years. He has been featured in not only comics but animated tv shows, videogames and 2 subpar movies with one God Awful one (Fant4stic). Videogames especially. A fan favorite in the Capcom Vs Series, Marvel Vs Capcom and recently a new DLC season for Marvel Rivals. Yeah most people know Doom.

Announcing that one asshole as Reed Richards, is what made me realize Disney/Marvel will never change with the shitty decisions. I decided I wouldn't return to the MCU after that because they already _ruined_ the Fantastic Four at that point. Beyond that, they still have the "January 6th" Captain America movie, the Marvel equivalent of the Suicide Squad that no one cares about, and likely will ruin the X-Men too by making a black Professor X ad Magneto (even though the thing about them being based on Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X is just a myth.) And then they pull a desperation act with thia. The MCU cannot be salvaged at this point. Phase 4 could've been ignored if phase 5 was good, but beyond Deadpool and Wolverine, it is not.
I wonder if they'll do with Dr. Doom like that did with the Mandarin in Iron Man 3 where its like "That's not the REAL Dr. Doom! It's just Nega-Tony Stark! The real one will appear in a post credit scene and never to been seen again!"

Who could have been a decent Dr. Doom...Christoph Waltz, Mads Mikkelsen for an older Doom or Fassbender, Cillian Murphy or Cavill for a younger Doom all would fit better than RDJ...and would most likely be cheaper.

If this works and brings people back to the MCU, then they're well worth the pay, especially if they can bring in 750 mil or 1 bil on a movie. The question is whether or not they will be given the time or the creative freedom necessary to do a proper Doom story. Otherwise, this is just going to be 2 bil in the Disney dumpster fire.
People need to stop getting mad at the actors. If they paid me a few million books like im assuming they are paying RDJ then who would play a role. However at this point disney has no idea what to do with the IP they have. Like zero...
The MCU should've ended at End Game. I don't care if there are more Marvel villains out there we haven't seen yet like Galactus. End Game was a good conclusion.

If they wanted to do phase 4, they should have started introducing characters that were not part of endgame/vital to p2/3 IN p2/3. MOREOVER, they have chosen in most cases to adapt or take major inspiration from storylines for the p4 movies/t.v. shows by in large from comics that were critically panned/failed when they ran. Also, they should not have killed tony stark if they were planning p4, literally iron man has been one of the most major characters part of the avengers for ages. Everybody in charge of the M She U have no idea what made the comics good and what made the movies interesting.

About the only way I can see this working where it isn’t going to break my brain is if this is a version of Dr. doom from an alternate reality but he’s either using magic or science to make himself look like Tony Stark because if he shows up and says I am an alternateuniverse version of your greatest hero, who saved half of all life in the universe and is beloved by everyone he can deceive the world.
