We love pintrading, i trade now for about i think 5 years. We love wdw but there is a lot of fake ones on the boards unfortunately. In Disneyland Paris you can’t trade the fake ones, so only real ones there 🥰

This is a great video to help those who are new to trading. I watched a video earlier where a dad let his son trade a pin that was already on the board and also use fake pins to trade for real ones 🤦‍♀🤦‍♀

Thank you so much! I definitely made a ton of mistakes and got some scrappers in my early days of pin trading, wanted to be sure no one else makes the same mistakes! Thanks for supporting our channel :D

I'm guessing that you visit Disneyland in California. Cast members at Disney World in Florida have not yet resumed wearing their landyards ... or at least not as of 5/31/23. If Disneyland is has resumed, hopefully Disney World will too, soon. Fingers crossed.

Oh my gosh you’re kidding?! I haven’t been to the parks since 2020 but I’m going back soon, didn’t know they haven’t brought lanyards back yet!!! Can you still trade at register boards? Hopefully that comes back, it was super fun.

@@DisDrewShow They do have pin boards in various locations. They are all either the small mickey icon shaped boards with roughly 20 pins on them, or the mystery boards where you have to pick two numbers (out of 24) and then you get to see what is inside those two number drawers. Sadly, most of the boards are full of scrappers, but occasionally you can make a good find.

@@swithers00 makes sense, I almost never trade in the parks unless I see a kid trade off a good one right before me. As I said in the video haha. I can’t stand scrappers personally but I know a lot of people don’t even care

Thanks for the comment!! Unfortunately, no, only official traded pins!! Best way to tell is if the pins have the rubber Mickey pin-backs !

Oh no! I wonder if they haven’t brought it back after Covid? I’ll need to ask around about that.

There is a huge board of pin trading at the Pueblo Trading Post in Frontierland ☺️ and lot of cast members wear lanyards and you can trade with them too

Really disappointed to learn about the fakes on eBay. My family is going next year and we had been planning to buy off eBay so that we had a good stock of pins to start with. Seems we’ll have to re-think that plan
@DisDrewShow
@DisDrewShow 6 месяцев назад
Definitely a good idea! Disney cast members don't really call you out on it, but for the sake of other guests it's best to keep the fakes away. Keep an eye on ShopDisney during Black Friday for some good pin deals!

You need to go over the back of the pins and how important it is on I dentification of a real Disney pin
@DisDrewShow
@DisDrewShow Месяц назад
Nowadays, the fakes have gotten good at replicating the backs, so they unfortunately aren’t the best way to identify real ones anymore! I actually have a few with realistic backs but are definitely fakes. Thanks for your suggestion though, I’ll definitely address it if we make a follow-up video!

Iv seen pin traders having wdi (walt disney imagineering), Dec (disney employee center), dssh (disney studio store hollywood), and artland pins. They seem to be very tough trades. I want to know about them when it comes to trading thoes kinds
@DisDrewShow
@DisDrewShow 8 месяцев назад
I’m curious if those were real, and how they ended up there! It’s possible they were ones that didn’t sell well at their original locations and got thrown into the cast member shuffle (they are supposedly given a pile to choose from for their trades whenever they start work that day) Those are awesome finds if you can get your hands on them!! I don’t have any from those stores
@illafunevilla1005
@illafunevilla1005 8 месяцев назад
@@DisDrewShow of what I have been told, the wdi and the dec pins are the high end pins and the dssh pins vary. Artland pins are interesting pins from the uk people collect. Though of what iv seen the high end pin traders show off a lot of their profile pins. I heard they are like either bargaining pins or they are there to show off

I bought a lot not knowing. It felt too good to be true but the description said they're tradable so I bought them. I will probably keep a few that I like but don't know what to do with the rest, most likely I'll throw them away.

@@DisDrewShow yes I think I will. I went to Disneyland 3 times since and have not seen a single real pin on trading boards. it's really sad. I will have to try going earlier. I saw someone on main street pull out fake pins to trade for the last real pin on the board there.

@@nobantahir When ever I go to disney we keep a lanyard of fake pins to trade with other guests (mostly kids) who only have fake pins. I will let them trade for what ever and usually give them an extra pin or 2. Most casual guests really appreciate it and it helps get rid of our collection of fakes.
