I've been staying here almost exclusively since 1996 when I stayed here for the 25th anniversary. It's my favorite resort, and I will continue to stay here for years to come.

I was able to stay here the first year it was opened. With pixie dust i will be staying here again in September 2021.

I stayed here last september, it was absolutely amazing. I plan on staying again (hopefully fall 2021). Is it too much to try to request the exact room I was in last time I was there? Lol!

That will be fun! I have requested the exact same room before and not had luck, but it doesn’t hurt to try. I would call Disney when you make the reservation and ask their procedure, then follow up a week before you arrive. Good luck!

How far are the mansion/royal rooms from the lobby?

They're probably the most convenient compared to other rooms. The lobby is in the middle with a river around it. Every room at the resort is on the other side of the river and you have to walk over a bridge to reach the lobby.
