glad you enjoy the show!!!!!! it’s my favorite and i NEED it renewed!!! i saw the finale yesterday, it was so epic! the ratings were low though, i really hope it doesn’t end up like ultra violet & black scorpion with the one-season fate :((( have you ever seen ultra violet btw and if not, are you interested in it??? (if you ever watch it, i’d love to hear your thoughts on it, i barely hear anyone talk about it.) the girl who plays gwen in bunk’d season 4 plays ultra violet and i know you love that show.
Oh my goodness I wanted to watch the finale so bad, but I wasn't able to catch it live and it's not on Disney Plus yet, I am planning to watch it as soon as it's on Disney Plus!! I'm sure the finale was fantastic, I actually love the show even more now since I made the review, this show is easily becoming one of my favorite Disney Channel of all time! I'm shocked to hear that the ratings were low. I don't understand why the ratings were so low like I could totally see this being one of Disney's biggest shows if they don't cancel it. Hopefully they won't go by the ratings alone and they'll consider how many people are streaming it on Disney Plus or watching it on Disney Now. Season 1 was already kinda short by just having 15 episodes, this show deserves way more than just 15 episodes and one season!! And I haven't gotten around to watching Ultra Violet yet but I've heard so many good things about it and I may give the first episode a watch and see if I like it! And yes the actress did a great job playing Gwen in Bunk'd, I'm sure her acting has gotten even better in Ultra Violet! Don’t worry, the finale will be on Disney+ this coming Wednesday, May 17! Also, I wish there was at least 20 episodes this season… idk why the single-camera shows keep getting shorter seasons. Ultra Violet Season 1 only had 16 episodes and then Saturdays only had 15. Sulphur Springs I can understand why it’s seasons are short tho with 8 episodes, it’s heavily serialized. And Ultra Violet is good! Not AS good as Villains of Valley View but it’s cute!!! It’s definitely got a darker tone than VOVV and it has more action sequences. It has some more dramatic moments, as it’s more of a comedy-drama than a sitcom. The comedy is definitely there though. The special effects are gorgeous btw, and yes Scarlett Estevez is an amazing actress and I hope she finds more work soon. Disney clearly failed her :((( Oh yeah, and I really hope the ratings don’t get it cancelled :((( They’ve been under 100k viewers many times. I hope the Disney+ streams count too. @@diane287 I heard about that and I was so shocked, I don't know why they had to do that😠 I really think it's a bad idea to start removing shows, I hope that they'll put put the show back on Disney Plus one day🥺
I'm sorry this show ain't it. I only watched the first episode. The only reason I'm not watching more is because its just not funny. The characters aren't naturally meshing well on screen and the writing is very lack luster. And whoever is in charge of wardrobe needs to be fired. As a black disney show, the bar is set with "That's So Raven." If you're not trying to top that then you're wasting your time. If you need an example of three black females meshing together on screen, think of Moesha, Kim, and Niecey S1E1 when they're sitting at the Den.
I know we don't agree on most things and I'm sorry to say this is one of them. This show's boring. The character archetypes aren't so different than what we've seen before. The jokes aren't so different than what we've heard before. The plots aren't so different than what we've seen before. Even the theme song is boring! And I can already name a better Disney show with a better theme song about living it up for the weekend. Do I even need to reference the name of that show? If it wasn't for the skating sequences and the Lizzie McGuire-esque animated bits and inner thoughts scenes, I would say this show doesn't do anything unique. And I'm not a fan of Derek at the moment. He has this Chris Tucker-type personality but he's not funny like him at all. Although, out of all the boring B-plots and spoilers if you haven't watched it, the one where he tries and fails miserably at rapping and everyone else cringing at it was good. And discovering that he's a good singer when singing happy birthday to the radio host's daughter was a nice resolution. And the twist in the block party episode was actually funny and was one of the few times the show subverts the audience's expectations. And I am excited about the Raven's Home crossover which would be the first time Disney's had a crossover between a single cam show and multi cam show, which Nickelodeon beat them to way back in the late 90s with a Kenan & Kel/Cousin Skeeter crossover!
It's okay that we have different opinions! I have to say that I'm surprised you don't like it though, I actually thought that you would since I've seen so many other people praise this show. I personally thought that the show brought something a little bit different to the network. But perhaps I am mainly looking at things like the narration and animated sequences and not the story itself. I'm also so used to watching Disney's multi-cam sitcoms that I guess watching a single-cam show automatically feels a bit different for me lol. Also, I heard that this show is produced or created by one of the people who worked on Black-ish, which is a show that's really popular, so I thought that having a writer/producer that's worked on things outside of Disney might help the writing of the show to be more interesting. And I didn't see that part of the show you're referring to, but it's okay, I usually don't mind spoilers! I plan on watching some more episodes of the show so I'll probably see what you are talking about soon but I'm glad that you at least enjoyed those moments! I hope that the episodes in the future will be more enjoyable to you. And YES, I am looking forward to the crossover too, I didn't even realize it would be their first time having a crossover between a single cam and multi cam show! also did you see the sneak peek for the new sitcom called “pretty freekin scary” coming this summer?? what did you think? do you plan on watching it? i know you’re not into scary shows, but it’s a sitcom with a laugh track, so i’m sure it’ll be more lighthearted than secrets of sulphur springs, per say.
I haven't seen the sneak peek yet, I'll watch it later! I also might watch the first episode of the show since I think it's coming out the same day as the season 2 premiere of Villains of Valley View!
