We stayed here on our honeymoon and it has been our Disney HOME every year. We love staying at the lodge. I love all of the changes and updates they have completed. I really love to second pool
Really amazing looking hotel. I don't know what it is, but Disney's attention to detail and immersion is what makes their hotels and parks so spectacular.
My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon! We loved it! They upgraded our room to the Old Faithful Club level, which was absolutely incredible! Such an awesome floor to stay on if you ever get the chance! It's definitely one of my favorite Disney resorts!
This is my favorite resort! We stay here whenever we go to Disney and I love it so much. There's just something about the lobby at The Wilderness Lodge that makes the resort feel like a home. So glad I get to stay here. Also, will be staying in the villas for the first in about a week so I'm looking forward to that.
My daughter and her family are staying at the Wilderness Lodge next week and I remembered the marvelous tour you had from here last year so wanted to review it again before their visit, to refresh my mind about where they would be staying and what they would be experiencing. I love the Relaxing Stroll videos, but this is the type of video that caused me to initially subscribe and follow your channel long ago. Your calm, enthusiastic style, together with your expert information about all the details, features, and history of each locale are beyond compare. It is wonderful to see things on tours, but much more enjoyable for me personally, always with an eye to visiting in the future, to know and learn about what I am seeing. Videos like this could not be better or more enjoyable. Sharing this out again for others to see and find your channel. Hoping to see more in this style in the future again! Cheers and Best Wishes!
Thanks, James! I plan to do more of these in the future for sure! They take a lot longer to shoot and edit, so it's easier for me to make them during the Summer when I'm not teaching. :-) Thank you so much for your kind words!
Your hotel tour videos are simply the best! We've never really wanted to stay here in the past, but now that we've seen this resort in such great detail, our minds have changed. Thanks for sharing!!
Lincoln Logs 😂 you're showing your age Josh. Great tour/stroll. Main lobby seems to go on forever. Whispering Canyon sounds like a lot of fun. Architecture is spectacular. Fantastic resort.
Great video...I've stayed here countless times and am bringing my family there next month, including my almost 3 year old daughter. I showed her this video to get her excited for our stay. This video definitely captures the essence and highlights of the lodge! Thanks!
Great job on the video. WL is probably the resort we've stayed in most often. Besides its incredible theming and most impressive lobby, it really and truly gives you a secluded, homey feeling when you stay there. I love walking through and hearing the Dances with Wolves soundtrack playing. My family loves to take time at the end of the day to sit in the lobby and play cards and just enjoy the atmosphere. My wife and I love taking time out of each trip, whether staying in WL or not, to grab a meal at Roaring Forks. And the boat ride to/from Magic Kingdom is quite enjoyable and provides some great views. Only minor flaw we find is with the bus transportation. Quite often, we have to wait longer than 20 minutes for the bus we're waiting for to come, while the ones we don't want seem to come by every 5-10 minutes. But that's a minor issue. And since you asked about the Whispering Canyon Cafe, I will note that on one occasion when my wife and I, and a number of other family members ate there, when I asked for a soda refill, they gave me a HUGE mug that probably could have served the entire table. And later the waitress made me (a 30 year old man then) ride a wooden horse all around the restaurant past the other diners. Thankfully it wasn't very full at that particular time.
+Boogey On! Wow! That's a great write up and a great story about Whispering Canyon! I've gotten the giant mug before and also 15-20 refills when I asked for one. Lol. Never had to ride a stick horse around the place though. Lol.
I think by far this is my favorite resort. But it's probably really expensive to stay here given how pretty it is. I'm really into nature and in love with the cabin look!
Josh, Thank you for this awesome video. My family needs to stay at this resort. I love that you can see Bay Lake Tower from this resort. Disney does it again with their theme. I love it!
I have stayed at all Disney deluxe hotels (except for Yacht Club) and this is my hands-down favorite. Close enough to the park, but seems like so far way. It has such a wonderful relaxed feel to it.
Thanks for posting! I live in Cincinnati but am moving to Florida next week and I just got hired on here via a phone interview, and I’ve never been! But now it kind of feels like I have :p
ResortTV1 My concern is that since one wing of the hotel is now Vacation Club, it doesn't leaving enough regular rooms for booking, thus causing pricing to go up even higher.
Thanks Josh! This was very Enjoyable. I absolutely Adore the Totem poles,I Must have one😊 All the babbling&flowing water is Beautiful⛲to sit by, relax & listen to at the ''Lincoln Log'' Lodge. Wonderful video! See ya' Real Soon! 🌴🌅🌴
Another thorough tour, thanks! because of the theming and the feeling of seclusion from the parks despite its proximity, this might be my #1 or #2 favorite resort. I hope to stay here late 2018 for full week to enjoy all its amenities you showcased. I remember my WC Cafe experience well, i had a lady keep ignoring my request for cornbread, i finally had to raise my hand and she made me yell 4 tables down. 3 min later she shows up with a dozen pieces of cornbread and 6 cups of butter in their large metal skillet usually for the meat, and put it right in front of me. i was good on cornbread for the night lol
Great video! We've stayed here several times and it's one of my favorite resorts. We've also stayed on the concierge level, Old Faithful Club, and enjoyed it as well. Your video brought back some wonderful memories.
My wife and I really enjoyed your vid! We stayed at WL in "15" and just loved it! We are doing a split stay this year, first five at WL and the next five at AKL. We definitely drank the kook-aid!!!!
Great video!!! I haven’t been to this resort in a while and this video made me so happy to see the new additions to the Wilderness Lodge, so thank you😊
Beautiful Resort, that's probably my 2nd favorite resort nest to the Grand Floridian Resort which reminds me of the Del Coronado Hotel in San Diego but even better. At first I thought that the Resort seemed Dead because I did not hear the people but then realized that the sound was cut in the edit to the narration of the video or voice over, nice video!
Great video! Can't wait to stay at copper creek in October usually stay at the grand or beach but I'm totally loving on the wilderness lately with all the renovations
ResortTV1 By the way, I think I stayed there with my family when I was a kid. My mom said we stayed in one of the cabins at Fort Wilderness Lodge. Is this the same resort at which those cabins are located? Or is that a completely different area? I don't remember which one we stayed at. All I know is the name of the place.
+Renee Wray The cabins at Fort Wilderness are at a different place than this resort. They're really close, but Fort Wilderness is the campground that also has cabins. We stayed in the cabins once too. They were really nice and a lot of fun!
ResortTV1 Oh! That makes sense! I remember the cabin where my family stayed was in a forest-type area. Next time we go down there we will have to check it out.
Loved your video!! you mentioned each and every thing very nicely. well i used to work in Roaring Forks so i was just curious that maybe I'm gonna see myself in that video haha😂
SPOILER the bridge you are standing on at 19:56 the creek that starts in the lobby ends under the bridge and the pool flow starts under that bridge. get out early enough in the morning and you can see it turn on.it is two separate flows if you look under the bridge you might see it
Thanks for watching! This was shot in July, and I was at the Resort in the morning when most people are at the parks, so the lack of crowds is a bit deceiving... :-)
So, that bear's name is Humphrey. He co-starred with Donald in several films in the early 1950's and had his own series in 1955. He lives in Brownstone National Park under the care of Ranger J Audubon Woodlore.
I've been to the whispering canyon a few times but if you go as a couple without kids you miss out on a lot of the fun as the staff we've encountered aren't sure what to say. Maybe they could allocate some children to adults who are there on there own. Obviously you would return them at the end of the meal.
I like the Wilderness Lodge! I plan on staying there next year. I'm guessing they're removing the arcades so people will spend more time outside? Did any of the model train artifacts belong to Walt Disney? Or, are those artifacts in a different location?
My family is interested in getting a DVC membership and we are looking at Wilderness lodge to call home. How is the commute to MK and Epcot?? Is it too far?? Other resorts we are looking at are the villas at Beach club and The Polynesian. Great Video as always!!
I have only taken the boat to MK and it was THE EASIEST FORM OF TRANSPORTATION! :) We had a 2-year old this past year, and it was so easy to hop on a boat and be there in 8 minutes. We are already booked for next spring. We love how easy it is to get to MK, and to the Contemporary for some Chef Mickey's. :)
+beatriz hernandez That's a great question. I honestly can't remember. I'm a local, so I don't stay in resorts that often. You might just call reservations at WDW. They're very nice and not pushy at all.
+Hailey Brooke Not every day. We just get lots of video when we do go and post it throughout the week. 😀. We go at least once or twice a week. We live in the Orlando area.
