12 Reasons Wilderness Lodge is the BEST Disney World Resort 

This is a great overview. You missed my favorite feature of staying at Wilderness Lodge - you can take a boat to the Magic Kingdom.

I loved that resort. I stayed there years ago and it has to be one of my fave resorts. At Christmas time the resort feels so comfy and really feels like Christmas. The Christmas tree is awesome ans oh so tall.

Yes, we stayed there during the Birthday celebration when the castle was decorated like a birthday cake. We also loved the fact that you could get to the Magic Kingdom from the Wilderness Lodge by boat---a beautiful way to get to the Park!

Have gone to Territory Lounge for the fondue for years. So yummy. I was one of those people who went crazy when they took it off the menu. So happy it came back! Glad you discovered it! I actually watched this video to see if you did. Christmas time is the best a FWL.

...and did I forget to mention that in addition to POFR/POFQ being my favorite resorts. this is also my ALL TIME favorite resort. Great video. Cant wait to get back.

We are staying here next month on our Disney world trip. We have stayed here on 13 other trips and we love it.We enjoy taking the boat over to the magic kingdom in the morning.

My favorite Disney resort!! Stayed there the most out of all the resorts. Have so many happy family memories there, sitting outside and eating at the roaring fork, swimming in the pool late at night and taking the boat to magic kingdom, etc. It’s also just so pretty and cozy inside, I love the theming!

I'm 60 and planning my first trip to Disney World for this upcoming Thanksgiving. (Went to Disneyland when I was 5 so it's technically not my very first but who can remember that far back?!) We plan to stay at Wilderness Lodge and family is staying at the cabins. Thanks SO much for your review. It is very helpful. I love, love, love your videos. They are so entertaining. Just now watching this. Great job as always, Molly! I LOVE WL, and when I was going to WDW every year, I would make it a point to get on property at least once a visit (same with AKL and POFQ, and usually OKW too!) :) to soak up the ambiance, and have a meal. I've done the free tour, and it was really great. I want to know though - did that bird freak out when the geyser went off? I didn't see him anywhere. LOL. I loved those rockers too - I would sit out there at night, after a huge dinner @ Whispering Canyon, and just digest and chill. :) WTG on the TV theme song trivia, Molly!!! I had one of the best naps of my life in that train room while I was staying DVC, and doing laundry - crashed out on a couch in the quiet, and ZZZZZZZZZ. :) I also liked to buy something resort-logo when I stayed at one. And I do have the totem pole collectible - kind of like the one you showed, with Humphrey the Bear on the bottom, but taller, and skinnier. Did you know that legend has it if you rub Humphrey's nose, it means you'll be back? That's why his nose always looks like a wee bit lighter (paint rubbed off) on the totem pole. LOL. And I KNOW I keep saying it - I LOVE your sense of humor, timing, and delivery!! :)

One really cool thing many don’t get to see or even know about this resort is the bear face on the lodge. You can see it from the boat ride from fort wilderness ( the best resort in WDW) look it up, it’s pretty cool!

We just got back from this resort in August. We stayed club level, and it was absolutely amazing

I'm glad you did this one. Last January I stayed at WDW for 2 weeks and resort hopped, staying 2 nights each at 7 different resorts. Polynesian is probably still my favorite but Wilderness lodge is an extremely close #2. I deeply regret staying at Coronado and the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I can't recommend Wilderness Lodge enough.

I love 💕 these resort videos. Which next? I don’t care! Do them all! We make time on our trips to resort hop. We stayed in a studio here when it was just known as Wilderness Lodge & Villas. Very spacious even for 3 of us.

I have enjoyed Wilderness Lodge room tours because I think my boys would love it if we got one of the rooms with the bunk beds. Plus my husband would love to sneak to the Carolwood Room with the trains. However, I love many resorts. Oh Molly I binge read your articles and I totally agree with your princess rankings.

This is on my list of resorts to visit at WDW, love the decor and it seems real laidback. As an unapologetic tv theme song aficionado I’m right therewith you Moll🤩

Copper Creek is our DVC home.....my decision was made the second I saw the lobby. Absolutely love the resort!!

Aside from some construction at the lodge, and hey, renos are important, our vacation at WL in January was really magical. Geyser Point B & G is the best use of a counter service credit on property IMO, and the lobby will blow your mind.

I brought my daughter here when she was about 9 or 10 - young enough for bunk beds to be exciting. The boat ride to Magic Kingdom was cool too. I'd love to stay here again someday. Alas, prices. And shes 26. Not so easily amused. lol

nice overview video, we have been annual guest the 2nd week of dec since 1995, wonderful place BUT the 4 negatives about being an annual guest is the "changes" for worst that you observe or experience ! 1. Christmas Decorations has been eliminated &/or reduced by over 80% but still is dramatic ! 2. DVC rooms, 1/2 the hotel has been converted as well as additional bldg & cabins for DVC, brings a different feel ! 3. Artist Point- fine dine eliminated ! 4. Merch, Store- quality as well as quantity has been eliminated &/or reduced !

I love The Lodge . Next time you go check out the seven layer cookie it’s a hidden gem . Unique to the Lodge I’m told (Roaring Fork)

You mentioned that there are bike and boat rentals....I'm curious about the cost to rent those items and is there a time limit?

Molly your videos are very informative & awesome as always! Could you either do a video showing the most efficient way to go to all the Disney World resorts in one day or tell me how to do it and all the important things to see in each one of them? Such as explaining which resorts are close enough together to walk to, take the monorail to see or to take a boat to arrive at in the most efficient manner possible. I have been watching all of your videos to get some extra information. I'm taking a resort day the first day I get there instead of going to the parks. I'll be taking a solo vacation there this year from September 9 - 12 for fun and research. Could you tell me about all of the quick service food places at Disney World parks and resorts that serve steak for lunch or dinner? I hope that I can meet you when I'm there to ask you some questions about working for Disney. I would also like to know if you can get me in touch with some of your friends that work for Disney so I can also ask them some questions about working for Disney.

Glad to know whispering canyon still does the ketchup thing lol. I went when I was 14 and was like what the heck is happening! That was the first thing we did after 11 hours of flying from Canada lol honestly the best way to wake up. Also glad to see wilderness lodge looks just as awesome 15 years later. Was thinking about staying somewhere else now that I'm planning to go back but I think wilderness lodge still is one of the best and I might just stay there again. Love your vids great camera presence and very informative. I'll definitely be referencing your videos for my trip planning. Keep up the good work Molly!

Do they not still do the adorable Rubber Duck Races? where guest get a numbered rubber duck it gets released at the top of the creek and flows along all the way to bottom by the pool? That was always fun! Housekeepers often would come out taking a break from cleaning to watch and cheer!

The New Artist Point is one of our favorite restaurants and the Mushroom Bisque is fantastic!

I enjoyed the video but Artist point is actually a location in Yellowstone. There’s even a Wyoming flag in the video among other Wyoming features so make sure you include Wy in your nod to the Wilderness Lodge info. Most of the things are more Rocky Mountains than PNW.

Before stayinng at WL for the first time ....my co worker said why would you pick a camping type woodsy themed resort??!! Ha! She really has no idea how special it was pulling up to the welcome home sign and seeing that humongous gorgeous lobby. You can get the beachy theme everywhere in Florida. Why not make it different? We have been back here many times and our next time is this July❤👍 Can't wait!

Coming to Disnbey World next year and really want to stay here, but just a bit concerned about its distance from the parks, not an issue?

can you use there spa if your camping

They use mesquite wood there and the lobby, close and the areas above, the fireplace smells strong sometimes of it...they used to use it for their famous 'smoked BBQ ribs', which are slow-smoked outback. It used to be on the guest tour of the resort; hope it still is. How do I know these things? I worked there for 3 years! I went from starting my Disney career at the Fort, went to DWL for 3 years, to the opening team for DAKL..

Molly: you did not mention that the lobby is a re-creation of the very real Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone National Park.

I had no idea Montana or Dakota were considered part of the Pacific Northwest. Is it just Oregon, Washington and possibly Idaho?
