I don't understand a word except of course 'Compas of your heart" But I don't even need to understand it, get a pretty good idea what it's about and it just sounds gorgeous!
Just rode this attraction 2 weeks ago. My 5 year old son fell in love with the music the moment we enter the first scene (even though none of us speak Japanese). We love it so much and we ended up rode it twice. Now, every time I hear this soundtrack, I always remember my son and the precious quality time we've had on that ride. I think this is what's best about Disney's magic. The experience that you encounter during your visit to their theme parks became more than just a visit to an amusement park, but it became an everlasting memory that reminds you of your loved ones.
Wow what a voice he has! That note he hits at 5:40 is goose bump inducing! "Compass of your heart", what a beautiful piece of music! Disney needs to bring this story to north america both as an attraction and as a movie.
Alan Menken performed this last year at a Destination D event for D23 and here are the real English lyrics: Lift yourself to the heavens and fly on the breeze Steer straight to the horizon and seek the new seas! Life's awaiting you out there and if you sail true You will find a priceless treasure waiting too! Life is the greatest adventure There is no map, there's no chart But if you seek life's great treasure Follow the compass of your heart.
My gosh what an amazing lyrics ❤. It is so inspiring!!!! 😊. Nowadays a song like this is so underrated sadly. I have heard this by accident and now I cant take it out of my head and heart ❤☺
I rode this ride in 2001. It was just ok. Then rode it last week (2019). And it was SPECTACULAR! I read the ride went through a total makeover in 2006. And for the better! Go online, compare the 2 different versions and see how great they changed this ride!
I loved this ride and this song! There was no line for it at all though, which is such a shame. The animatronics inside surprised me so much, the movements were so smooth and natural, it was so fun to watch. The song is so awesome too and the meaning to the lyrics is wonderful!
I have been to every Disney theme park and this is my favourite ride. It is imaginative and uplifting. The music and visuals are stunning! Second favourite is Winnie-the-Pooh in Tokyo Disneyland and third is Pirates of the Caribbean in Shanghai. But Sindbad is best of all, as is Tokyo DisneySea.❤
I made a couple of friends go with me on the ride in May because I love this ride and they had avoided it before because they figured it would be boring. They completely regretted having missed it after and it’s now one of their favourite rides because of the song.
Just got back from a Japan trip. And yes, I went to the Disney parks. And yes, I rode this ride. The music is phenomenal. The audio animatronics are very modern. Beautiful song, and I'm glad they have this.
Rode this attraction yesterday and can't get this song out of my head. Listened to both the english and japanese versions now and may even purchase a Chandu plushie 😅 the whole experience was mesmerizing. Tokyo Disneysea was truly one of a kind. Highly recommended. Cant wait to visit again.
La version de Junichi suwabe est de loin la meilleur pour moi ~ avant lui je ne connaisse pas cette music absolument génial. Même cette version est super chou :') j'adore cette music
Where did you get the clean audio for this? I searched every soundtrack they had available in the park, but couldn't find this song on any of them. What album is this on, or can I buy it online anywhere?
@JennyENicholson I don't know if there are any MP3s of it but Disney has released a Tokyo DisneySea soundtrack and this song is on it. If you buy the CD you can burn it onto your computer and put it on your iPod/MP3 player.
@Thoralmir I'll translate the chorus: Life is an adventure Even though there is no map Let's go search for treasure Follow the compass of your heart the lyrics are really beautiful. I love this soundtrack!
My favorite Disney ride ever!! Thank you!!!! I love the soundtrack! so meaningful. Was it written by Alan Menken? I wonder who the singer is. They sound like Gekidan Shiki. :)
The lyrics can be found here. (magicmusic. net/ topic/ 4352- lyrics- for- compass- of- your- heart- tds) [Get rid of the spaces.] The rough English translation is also given. This song has and English version, sung by Menken during an interview, I think. According to the forum, the English version isn't officially released yet.
