I am not sure, sincerely! (I am French). This specific kind of atmosphere reminds me more of the literature of the German Romantic era or the English Victorian era.
It's funny you're saying that because the music has been composed by an american man, the manor is of english/american architecture and situated in the part of the park about the american far west. As a french man myself I see it as the most american thing ever lol. But where you are right, macabre is indeed a part of french aesthetic, you should search "L'enfer" a french cabaret from the 19th century. And as french people we do love some black and white, a bottle of wine that tastes of depair, a cigarette and obviously depression.
@@awkad This was along my thoughts. There is something reaching towards the French in this music, but it is rather an American trying to be his idea of what it is to be French than anything like actually being French. Although the organ parts are as French as anything in it.
We think all of the sounds to the mansions have a dark and eerie feeling to them. But this one. Phantom Manor has a dark and eerie feeling to it. You can tell by the violins and the other instruments as they play. We are experts in music so we can talk about it forever. We like music like this. We have been searching for something like this. When the bride sings the eerie tune of Phantom Manor's theme tune. You can tell that it is about lost love. We are good experts in this sort of music. But we don't know the real story behind this ride. We have to dig a little deeper into the manor's history. But if Disney did have the opportunity to make a movie about this manor. No one knows about the history of the manor and what happened to the bride and her husband. This eerie soundtrack puts you on high alert. You never know something might be haunting your house. Be careful if you summon spirits. Thanks for this eerie soundtrack. MP23 Studios Orchestra-Topic (Professional orchestra) Located Australia NSW Dubbo
A haunting score written by the very talented John Debney, who also composed the music for the Hocus Pocus movie soundtrack. Just as brilliant! If you listen closely, you can hear similarities between both scores.
Despite being a 90's child and therefore a Hocus Pocus baby, I never knew this! It's true what they say, you learn something new every day! :) Thank you for the great fact!
now why don't they make a movie about THIS haunted mansion??? I mean don't get me wrong I love the California and Florida version of HM but Phantom Manor is the most unique one of all of them that also is very story heavy! This practically screams for an animated disney movie. Disney, if you read this: make an animated Phantom Manor movie!!! Oh, and use this soundtrack!!
Isn’t Guillermo Del Torro working on a live version that will be better than the Eddie Murphy version. No word on the plot but I think the Phantom Manor will be the best version for a live action movie.
While I still love the original Haunted Manor music... but the Phantom Manor ride music is something else it has almost a mesmerizing tune to put you in its control as it floats your body and soul through this decrepit manor and tells you about its tragic story.
I have tears in my eyes...I've been searching for THAT Quality-Soundtrack since 1995. I have huge collection of the phantom manor soundtracks...even the masterrecordings but THIS ONE is the best! Thank you very much from Germany.
This song is by far the most haunting piece of Disney Park music I have yet to come across. I love this song, and if there are any more like it, I would like to listen to them.
I wish that I could travel to Phantom Manor at least once a day! It's my favorite ride and I love the story, the ambiance, the musics, the decor, and the fact the bride name is Melanie, like me :) Someday I want to buy a house and get inspire by PM for the decoration! I love it just too much!
When I was around 10 or 11, I went to Disneyland Paris, I was too scared to even approach the Manor... I severely regret it now, as I seriously want to ride it, and witness Melanie's tragic tale.
I was there a week ago. The changes after the renovation are incredible. Disney, please make a movie out of this and use this beautifully spooky music.
It uses the same architectural style as the house from psycho, called Second Empire. However, I prefer the look of this house more than the psycho house, as it has more detail and is more elegant while maintaining a foreboding and ominous presence.
This enchanting music was composed by acclaimed film composer John Debney ("Passion of the Christ") for the Phantom Manor. He actually grew up being at Disneyland as a kid because his parents worked there, reportedly. He also studied music at California Institute of the Arts, or Cal Arts, in Santa Clarita, CA that was created by Walt Disney. It's considered one of the best art schools in the world. In fact a great many Disney animators come out of that school including Tim Burton...
I wonder how the Haunted Mansion tune sounds to a non-English speaker. We have plenty of folks in the United States who enjoy Kpop and Jpop, so I assume the language barrier isn't much of an issue.
This is easily my favorite arrangement of PM stuff. I always end up coming back to it since nothing can compare in quality and range ❤️ Please make an hour loop someday!
Phantom Manor has to be my favorite of the many attractions in the Haunted Mansion family, while Orlando/Anaheim’s Haunted Mansion is incredibly iconic, and they are what I’m most familiar with, the Phantom Manor contained many pleasant surprises for me, especially the music. (I may be crazy, but I think one of the ghosts in the town section has the voice of the OG Ghost Host, although they cut him off before he can say “to the Haunted Mansion”) The plot of the Phantom Manor is much easier to understand and is also better in my opinion, (both plots of HM and PM are kinda obscure and you need to look them up) and I have always loved the Haunted Mansion family of attractions given their very dark and horrifying lore, in stark contrast to Disney’s typical way of going about things. Have you seen the changes? The graveyard was heavily refurbed. Ligjts and animatronics. The phantom cave (where melonies outstreched skeleton used to be) was heavily censored and near non existent. Henry ravenswood was confirmed as the phantom
@@tomlink5784 Yeah I went in October but I didn't go in the graveyard part this time. I love the new special effects, but I wasnt really keen on how in the Phantom Canyon they gave the ghosts green skin and I feel like it's less dark and eerie now. And the new storyline just feels wrong, I prefer the pictures in the stretching room before than to the new ones. With the groom nonexistent I feel like the main driving force of phantom manor has gone. It was an iconic part of the whole story and they just took it out. And there was no trace of him, no planned wedding, it was just these four suitors that poorly replaced him. Phantom manor has always been a story of mystery for guests to piece together themselves, but now that the biggest mystery of all is confirmed there is no longer that speculation for guests to discuss and theorize about. I noticed that the Phantom had been added throughout more scenes in the ride, and instead of his mysterious shadowy presence he's just always there for you to see. Like in the ballroom scene (one of my favourite parts since I was little) before he would appear only as the lightning strikes, his evil laughter booming. Now he's just there behind Melanie, and it doesn't seem as unnerving to me as before. One more thing, the whole storyline with the phantom doesn't make sense. The idea that Henry loves his daughter so much that he believes no man is good enough for her doesn't make sense when he's always behind her, mocking and laughing at her despair and tears. But yeah, anyway, of course not all of it is bad. I like the addition of both English and french in the stretching room at the beginning. And at the end I really like the scene with the phantom and the coffin with the noose, it was really creepy and I love creepy.
Also the song has been identified, but it's the wrong one. The song that is a called "" is The Phantom Manor Medley not the Phantom Manor Suite which is the video.
everyone says they are huge Disney Fans but I'm very Disney Crazy, because I listen Disneyland Paris ride audio's and I have about 500 photos on my phone and about a 1000 on my pc xD my dream is having a job in Disneyland Paris :D
This is the most cinematic ride of all of the HM rides, welk al hm are cinematic rides in there own right BUT MERCY OF GOD IF THEY FORK IT UP PUTTING ADAM SANDLER O A COMEDIAN,just saying its a dream that would never come true
If you aren't super confident with French that's ok, as long as you are polite and try to say hello, thank you and good bye in French then that's all you need as basically all the staff speak English and will sometimes start speaking English to you if they realise you are a native English speaker trying to speak French. Most announcements are in English and other languages as well as french although only a smallish amount of speaking is in English in phantom manor and some other rides but you can still tell most of what's happening

TheToonStudios You can actually purchase this song on Google Play. There's a whole album on most of the songs created for the haunted mansion at either Paris or California rides, including the music box, the graveyard band, the organ theme, etc
