In Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the Evil Queen initially appears to be a cruel, self obsessed royal, but when she realizes the Huntsman had not destroyed Snow White… her dark truth is revealed. The magic mirror is not the only bit of magic in Snow White’s castle. No, no! It turns out the Evil Queen is trained in Black Arts, alchemy, witchcraft, black magic and sorcery, possesses magical potion ingredients and can summon dark forces to create her potion: she is a witch, but how did a queen ever gain this type of magical knowledge and power?

Alexis Thwing The Same with me as well she was terrifying the way she looked. Specially when she'd turned into the old hag. With the eyes and the way she looks in the window at the cottage. Also in a way it's almost like she is looking at you at the camera in the film. When she makes eye contact quite creepy.

I agree with this theory! I remember I have seen a theory about all Dark Magic in Disney movies, except for the magic of other deities, like Hades and the Voodoo Spirit's comes from Chernabog. But I can't remember where I saw it

in once upon a time, the evil queen gets her magic from the dark one(so does her mother), aka the most powerful user of dark magic. the show did have a habit of mixing the lore of different characters into one, since the dark one was also hook's crocodile, belle's beast, etc. the chernabog does appear on the show, but it's a quick thing, for like an episode. probably because the cgi would be way too expensive to have around for long. since the dark one is a creation of the show, i think he can be considered the show's version of the chernabog, which only validates this theory even more

I agree there needs to be a Grand Unified Theory of Disney. What isn't realized is there are already connections to Pixar, and via the connections to Pixar movies there's connections to the Tommy Westphall Theory/Universe, connections to Marvel, connections to Warner Media, et cetera. Ultimately, there needs to be a theory that addresses all the connections in mass media. As far as the Disney Theory goes, it only connects 30 or so Disney movies.

I think that when the Evil Queen was thrown down from the hill, she has used her magic to be saved and as she was in love with Snow White's father, she may have gave birth to a daughter named Evie (from descendants 1 or 2) in order to finish Snow White.

I don’t remember if you ever did this one, but can you talk about where Maleficent got her magical powers (and her origin as well)? When you started speaking about the dead being risen and dancing in flames, it reminded me about how when Maleficent captures prince Phillip she sends her evil spirits to dance around a fire in celebration of her plan being fulfilled. I’m not saying it’s the same but The Evil Queen and Maleficent were probably two of the strongest Disney villains I’ve ever seen! Your videos are amazing and thanks so much for doing them 😄

Made sense to me pretty easily from the get go. Knowing the origins of the Snow White story (Germanic in general) and knowing Chernabog to be a dark being (Slavic in general), if not devil, of that area, and most folklore back then state that witches become so by the devil.. Yeah, it made perfect sense to me. ^^ The extra details and texts you presented that fleshened the bond even more so? Those were just a bonus! jafar didnt have initial powers from a genie, in fact, i think genies prob get their magic from chernabog. theres an interesting video out there talking about how genies are actually kinda powerless and do more smoke and mirrors acts, and dont really fulfill wishes or do so in nefarious ways. (ex, Jafar granting the thiefs wish for the sunken treasure in Return of Jafar) i wanna say MatPat made that vid. its really cool. also explains how the genie, since he likes aladdin, "wastes" the 2nd wish because he didnt want him to wish for something that could backfire.

I don't think the idea of the Evil Queen getting her power from Chernabog was what the original creators had in mind, especially since Fantasia came out 3 years after Snow White, but based on the folklore of Walpurgis Night and the 1938 promotional brochure for Snow White, this theory does seem like it would hold a lot of weight if the Disney canon decided they wanted to go with this. When I watch Disney movies, nine times out of ten, I'd always look at each individual story as having its own story universe, completely independent from all the other films, and I still think that, unless explicitly shown as otherwise, like when Aladdin crossed over with Hercules in their TV shows, that was pretty fun. LOL But still, like I said, if the Disney canon wanted to acknowledge this as part of the Snow White universe, it would make a lot of sense. The connection with the Hartz Mountains was a really good catch! :D

my dude you should do a video on the original version of the Tinkerbell movie. It was originally called The Ring of Belief and was around 80% done before being scrapped and replaced with the new version. It was originally gonna be a lot darker with the girls all seemingly dying or "disappearing" judging by a storyboard here on RU-vid.
