Maybe things are changing??? Lost power in our SS building. The general manager knocked on each door to apologize and offer other condos for showers etc. he then stood in front of bldg with his team until power was restored( 4 hr in HEAT). I was met in AP with free coffee and my waterpark tickets were comped! He also returned one night of points! This cemented my loyalty to DVC.
My husband & I definitely agree with your suggestion about DVC interaction during your stay. Those little touches mean alot & make a huge difference! Even seeing our greeting "Welcome xxxx Family" on the tv screen puts a smile on our face. The only gift we ever got was last December & it wasn't even from DVC it was from Wilderness Lodge. A fire alarm had gone off & my husband had called the front desk to see if we needed to evacuate. He thanked them for making safety first & mentioned that it was our anniversary trip. On check out they told us to stop at the front desk & gave us a great gift bag! Not from DVC but from the resort. Even when we put a note in with our reservation we're celebrating ... birthday birthday
Congrats on the new studio! I can’t wait to see how you set it up. Really impressed by how quickly you’ve picked up the ball and run with it following the change in ownership. Enjoying the infusion of new personalities and mix of types of shows (resort visit, park or cruise vlog, dining reviews, “studio” discussions. Keep it up!!

Love the show. Paul and Amy, please fix the extreme plosives your MV7s are picking up. Consider using a thicker windscreen (A7WS). Make sure your highpass is enabled.
My wife and I love the show. We are really happy and can’t wait to see the vibe of having you all in one studio. We bought DVC Resale and use Monera. The killer for us is the not being eligible for the DVC related season pass. We go twice a year and this would have fit our scenario perfectly. We did save a ton of money and bought into the Boardwalk. That is the only perk that I have a problem not being eligible for.
Remember Hollywood Squares? This format reminds me of that. I recently mentioned to a DVC on site associate in MK that I never heard from my guide. I told her his name. So last week I get an email from him. "Thank you for your interest in Disney vacation club... blah blah blah". It was a boilerplate email for someone who knows nothing about DVC and has expressed an interest in finding out. Boy he sure is😢 tone deaf. Wish I had the guide that you and Panda have. Great show. 🏅
Amen Amy and Paul. The biggest downside to us joining DVC was us stopping our trips to Coronado Springs. We LOVED Coronado Springs. Maybe give us a floor at Gran Destino.
Good Morning. Background. We are looking to become new DVC members this month by buying direct as my wife is and has been addicted to Disney for years. Here is the plan: Buy 235 points at Beach Club (we've made the finances work out such that we will pay this off in 5 years). We will want to buy additional points in the next 5 years and thereafter. Through education gained from your channel, it is obviously cheaper to buy additional points resale. Here is my question. Can those points be stacked on top of our Direct 235, say if I bought 65 resale points, would I be able to use all 300 now to reserve at Beach Club and would I still be able to get the same discounts for dining, merchandise, annual passes, etc? Do the resale points void our abilities to get all of the discounts we would receive from buying direct?
DVC never has called us when we visit. I have mentioned to them and they call me 2 weeks after my trip to see if I need them. No welcome home love anymore😢
Great show today everyone! Been a 'blue card' member since 09 at OKW. Love 90% of it. We have seen many perks come and go over the years and fully realize that no perks are guaranteed. No one should EVER buy DVC for the perks. However, on the other side of the coin, I believe some perks should be included. Personally, I don't care about a 10% discount on anything. What we ( wife and I) care about is the 'old' annual pass discount or even the Florida resident rate. We're from Ohio. If we could get the Florida AP rate, it would give us the incentive to not only use our DVC pts but then also make other yearly trips to stay at Disney's moderates or rent DVC points. The theme park prices are causing us to not go the parks anymore but to use DVC pts for our Florida stay but spend our time going somewhere else or simply stay at the resorts. Cruising is a much better option for just about the same amount of money, but even this is beginning to become an issue with the rising prices.
We're long time Ft. Wilderness Cabin fans and are considering DVC. However, if the contracts have the same restrictions as Riviera we are not interested
Congrats of the new studio. I would love to see a lounge feel to the show, where everyone is sitting back and have a "chill" conversation. Sorry for the change in ownership, but it is what it is. Good luck with future shows, and I look forward to watching them.
Great show. One aspect of the Drop Product debate I would have like to have seen discussed and at least acknowledged is, up until the new incentives came out, GF was the drop product. This also coincided with DVC declaring all the rooms for inventory, limiting cash stays. One thing I never hear anyone talk about, and maybe you all have some insight, is that Riviera is still expensive/popular to rent as a Hotel on the cash side which may be a factor as to why Disney is not in as big of a hurry to sell it out. I agree the resale restrictions stink, but it is a large property that is generating cash flow to Disney on both the Cash and DVC Side.
Love CS and can hope for a DVC. that's why im not staying there anymore cause its not DVC. I keep checking what's up for resale...Maybe more Boulder Ridge for me or CC points. Thanks

That direct sales are way down tells me they aren’t very bright business people at the top. The perk’s really pushed the sales and with no sales they need to bring them back. It’s a big reason why I’m not buying the Disneyland Tower. They took the icing off the cake plus pay for parking.
Paul and friends. We went on a new poly Dvc tour and did the bungalow viewing etc…we told them we weren’t interested in buying anything yet cause we were closing on some resales with D-money (Derek). One thing that shocked me as I am kinda gaining knowledge. The new poly building so far is under the same use year, so it won’t be a 50 yr sale. Any truth to this. Thanks Guys.
No news has been revealed on the status of the association for the new tower. Our assumption is that it will be part of the current association and hold the same expiration date as the original Polynesian Villas, but that is just a guess based on what we've seen thus far.
There are several things driving lower results for DVC. #1. Stupid moves like making Riviera exclusive, instead of sold just like every other DVC. #2. Taking away member perks like Annual Pass Discounts and um... ANNUAL PASSES! #3. Remodeling rooms and REMOVING loved amenities like Jacuzzi Hot Tubs. #4. Overall remodeling Jobs like Boardwalk where PERFECTLY themed areas are replaced by BLAND furniture that can be found at any Rooms To Go. #5. PISSING OFF your Core Base of Conservative Families, who let's face it ... HAVE THE MOST KIDS ... Who in turn try to get their parents to take them "MORE" to Disney. By getting involved with controversial Issues that Disney has no business being in. #6. Nickle and Diming your Members with things like Genie+. Members should get free Fast Passes or at the BARE MINIMUM get Genie+ for Half Price. #7. Members SHOULD NOT need a Reservation. I get that Disney wanted to "Prioritize" non-annual pass members because they spent less "Per Visit", but imagine the RAGE someone felt plunking down 30K for their DVC and the following year NEEDING to make a reservation to visit the park. There's no disputing that Members SPEND MORE over their lifetimes than the one time visitor... But they won't if they decide to sell and not bother to come back!
As an Aulani owner im always floored how it just doesnt sell. I know it's because of the flight and no parks but man, its our own little slice of heaven.
To take pressure off the monorail, they should add trams from Poly, GF and Contemporary like the ones from the parking lots. Doesn't require the major infrastructure and the hard to find skilled labor to operate a train. I am sure there are many reasons this is not realistic. But makes sense in my mind.
We desperately need Grand Californian, last year, the 1 BR we got didn't even HAVE the pull-out couch. And it was falling apart (light switches, toilet seats). It was a terrible experience and I was glad we didn't have the kids - we use that couch, no matter how much they suck. GC was supposed to be done in 2020 - but we all know what happened there.
We just got back from Aulani. They didn't even bother to have our name on the TV. It just said, "Welcome Aulani Guest." I know it was small but we really wanted to see it. The resort photographers would studiously ignore us. And there were a number of things that we had to find out on our own or were told incorrectly (like the beach photos at Sunset and what restaurant had Ahi Nachos. Rather disappointing.
Is there any universe where DVC realizes the error of their ways with the resale restrictions on Riviera? Legally, could they even rescind that language? I just don’t see how that policy ends up being a win for them, unless every single new property, whether it’s attached to the Poly or wherever includes them? They’re just creating this weird dichotomy that is hindering their direct sales.
Doesn’t the Disneyland Tower have the same resale restrictions as Riviera? If so, why is everyone so excited about it while simultaneously anti-Riviera for that reason?
i look forward to seeing a real Polynesian style building which is part of the existing poly association. i am happy for the cabin updates but not planning on staying there - unless i bring my pet someday.
“Location, Location, Location”. I believe that term was first mentioned for California Real Estate. It really does come in to play for the San Francisco Bay Area. That is part of the reason I am a multi Millionaire. I know Aulani is the most beautiful Resort close to a beautiful beach. It also has some of the best weather in the world. The problem is that it is a long flight away from the mainland USA. That is why it is not sold out. I truly believe if Disney added a DVC Resort close to Lake Tahoe California or Lake Tahoe Nevada. It would sell out in a short time frame. That location is a short flight away from the San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California Area. There is a lot of money coming from those two locations. Lake Tahoe is also a very popular vacation destination.
As far as the monorail goes, they need to restrict the resort monorail to resort guests only. Not pick up dozens and dozens of people at the TTC who are only going to the Magic Kingdom, and vice versa.
Just one more comment. Did I hear that right? The Disney Treasure 'Wave' cruise for DVC members. You MUST use DVC points for at least one person in the cabin to attend and this cruise is NOT a members' cruise where you get all the little perks? No thanks. I was ready to look into it until you said that points were required. We all know what a huge ripoff using DVC points for cruises are. Norwegian and Royal are looking better and better all the time.

Unfortunately, I blame a slower DisneyWorld on the DeSantis effect. The MAGA crowd believes DeSantis fight with Disney, and they are avoiding going to Disney. Doesn’t bother me because I can go on rides more quickly.
