For me, "Hellfire" edges out "Be Prepared" because of the genius decision to have it immediately preceded by "Heaven's Light." That musical diptych is just *chef's kiss*.
Fun fact: Jafar had two songs that didn't make the final picture ("Why Me?" and "Humiliate The Boy"). Speaking of cut villain songs, Yzma also had an absolute showstopper at one point. "Snuff Out The Light" didn't survive the transition from Kingdom of The Sun to The Emperor's New Groove, but it's so infectious a rhythm and Eartha Kitt is on such great form that I vote we give it accredited status anyway.
You forgot the greatest thing about World's Greatest Criminal Mind: Vincent Fricking Price! Also you forgot "Les Poissons" from The Little Mermaid. Who knew Odo could be such a psychotic chef?
Ratigan!!! Great mouse detective is sorely underrated. As much as I love Tim Currey I agree that the song doesnt compare to the other villan songs. His performance is top tier though.
One villain song that sadly never made it to the big screen. Was a song called “snuff out the light” and it was sung by Yzma from the Emperors New Groove, But due to storychanges they couldnt fit it in. Its a great song, you can hear it on RU-vid.
Surprised you didn’t rank poor unfortunate souls higher after you struggled in your villain bracket between scar and Ursula. Also now I really want to see you either do a bracket or tier list for all the muppet songs
Prob an unpopular opinion since a. it's old and b. it has no words, but Night on Bald Mountain is absolutely my favorite Disney villain song. Might not qualify for lists like this though since it existed as a song prior to being in Fantasia.
Aaaand 2 mins in, you already go over why it wouldn't be ranked here based on your criteria. Can't be sung by the villain if it isn't sung at all. Still definitely *the song associated with the villain* as it plays during Chernabog's whole reveal from the mountaintop.
I don't know, any song from Wish not immediately being dropped to F-tier kind of made me question the future rankings you'd give but the fact that you didn't put Poor Unfortunate Souls in S-tier kind of sealed it for me.
You didn't watch to the end, did you? 😂 Nonetheless, I think the beauty of things like this is that it's so subjective, everyone will have a different opinion and that's ok! I'd love to hear your ranking - by the sounds of it, from the fact that I'm only off by one tier with the two songs you mention, I'm sure we agree more than we disagree.
