Played him last night. Went in blind for the fun of a new villain to play, and was searching frantically for a way to bring out Vanellope. I never drew the medal before my opponents won, but had a great time slowing down around the fate actions to really annoy my family. Looking forward to playing him again!
Yeah, I feel like he's too limited on his options to get his win condition started; he literally only has one card in his deck to do it. There's also no reason for your opponents to ever play Venelope if she's drawn from his fate deck. It's one of those instances where it should specify that if she's drawn, she has to be played.
@@SpookGod Yeah, you gotta cycle that deck to get that medal quick. Several other villains are the same way. Captain Hook you can’t win with him until you play Neverland Map. Jafar can’t win without the magic lamp, etc etc
@theabsentfriend4002 Definitely, I'm not crazy about characters who have a win condition that difficult to obtain. Horned King has multiple avenues to get the Black Cauldron, Scar has multiple options to get heroes out of his Fate deck; its a better design philosophy than "lol there's 1 card in your entire deck you *must* have, good luck, nerd."
I’m super excited to finally play him , it’s so close to my birthday. Next Saturday is coming up so fast, it will be here before I know it. I so excited to finally try him out. Thanks so much for all the helpful tips, he definitely seems so interesting and a different way to play a evil villain.
You have no idea how much this helped my mom. We like to play Villainous a lot (it’s a game we can get really competitive in) and King Candy is quite possibly her favorite Disney villain, but she was having a lot of trouble with how more complicated he was given his new board. Thank you so much and god bless!
I would say Stinky Pete from Toy Story 2 was quite a shocker, he initially seemed like such a sweet old man so kid me was shocked when I saw him heel turn to a grouch who hates kids, yet it was still well telegraphed and motivated looking back. I really hope he gets added to villainous in the future.
Excellent review, as always. Looking forward to your solo play (hopefully soon). I guess Frozen Prince Han's reveal was probably the unexpected twist; Toy story 2 had two - Stinky Pet being the villain and Zurg turning out to be actually nice guy after all (and there was Lightyear' take on who Zurg actually was but the less said about that movie the better). But I think King Candy being the unexpected villain was probably the best twist reveal that Disney/Pixar has done so far.
See, I knew he was gonna be the villain, I just didn’t know he was that Turbo character, lol. But yes, Hans being the surprise villain, that was good!!!
@@janehuskmann1914 I never saw Coco, so I’ll take your word on that one. What was the big twist with Lotso? I knew he was the villain from the start, lol
Great video thank you so much for making this! I have a question that I cannot find the answer to anywhere. You have a lot of knowledge on this so I thought I would ask you if you know! I am I’m confused with the big race. It says that the racing token moves each turn but it doesn’t say how many space it moves. Do you know home many spaces that token moves each turn? Or does it only move when a card tells it to? Please let me know if you know! 😊
@@CarterFritze Sure thing! Once the big race begins … before King Candy moves on his turn, he will reveal the top of his deck. Whatever the cost of the card, the racer token will move forward that many spaces plus TWO. So if he reveals “Candy Cy-bug,” he will move the racer token 4 spaces. If the card revealed has no power cost then the racer still moves ahead 2. I hope that helps!
@@theabsentfriend4002 Yes that helps a ton!! Thank you so much! It has been driving me and my friends crazy and we wanted ti make sure we were playing correctly. Thanks again! 😊
Question. Playing last night. My son had 1 glitch attached during race and I drew the fate card where I remove a glitch. Does the race end and have to be started over after new glitch is attached??
Yes it does. I’m not sure if the racer token stays on the track or not, but when a new glitch is attached, the race starts all over again as it the did the first round!! Good job getting rid of the glitch!
@@theabsentfriend4002 No, but they make game guides that are clear, concise, and to the point about how to play the game. And from what I've seen in this video, that's not really the case. Sorry if that's abrasive, it's just something that I felt like needed to be said.
@@denversan4205 That’s fine. Not everyone is gonna like my style. I just try to make guides easy to understand but also fun with the occasional joke or running gag. It’s okay if you don’t like it. Have you ever played Disney Villainous?
