Disney Wish Cruise Vlog, Day 1! Embarkation Day and First Concierge Sailing! Join us as we set sail on the beautiful Disney Wish!
Sailing on any Disney ship is our favorite way to vacation as a family. We are so excited to share this vlog series as after 20 other Disney cruises, this was our first Concierge experience. We arrived at Port Canaveral and made our way through check in and security before being led to a waiting area and then onto the ship. We were welcomed aboard in the Grand Hall as our family name was announced overhead. This is always a trip highlight! Isn't the Grand Hall spectacular?
Lunch for Concierge guests was served at 1923 on the Walt Disney side. Marceline Market and Arendelle were also open for embarkation lunch. We enjoyed a leisurely meal with some of our favorite menu items including the beef empanadas, pennette pasta and Caesar salad. Dessert offerings were delicious as well.
Hyperspace Lounge was on our must-do list. We loved the theming! For Star Wars lovers, this lounge should not be missed. We ordered the two zero-proof items, Cloud City and Temple Twist. The kids enjoyed the drinks and we all enjoyed the ambiance.
We stayed in room 11006, an Oceanview room located forward on deck 11 (port side) with Little Mermaid theming. We can't say enough about how amazing this room was! We shared a quick tour but stay tuned for a full stateroom tour soon.
The Concierge Lounge is located on deck 12. This space is lovely with plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. There are snack items available throughout the day and a small menu for breakfast and lite dinner fare as well. All beverages are complimentary apart from the bar, though during evening hours, there is an open bar from 5 to 10pm. We explored the outdoor spaces, including the sundeck on deck 13. Two hot tubs and a soaking pool are located here as well as plenty of loungers and sunbeds. This was one of our favorite spaces on the cruise!
Set Sail on a Wish is the fabulous sail away party unique to the Wish. We highly recommend the stage show! There are characters galore, and this fun and happy party sets the tone for the cruise! After we set sail, we made our way back to the Lounge, where we heard the ship's horns and watch the coast line disappear.
Seas the Adventure was the show for the evening, and we give this one two thumbs up! We were able to enter the Theater on deck 2 with the Concierge team for early access to seating (we loved this perk!). Popcorn is complimentary, and each night before the show, we grabbed drinks from the lounge too. This show is a cruise highlight and one we would not miss!
The Grand Hall is bustling in the evenings from character and backdrop photo ops to live music. The shopping venues are also open in the evenings so there is plenty to do. We made our way to 1923 for dinner and met our servers. Dinner was relaxed and delicious. From the bread service to dessert, we enjoyed the meal. The Filet Mignon was our only disappointment. Next time we would likely order the pasta dish Brielle had.
Embarkation day is always packed full and we were ready for a night of rest soon after dinner. We are so excited to share the rest of our cruise so be sure to stay tuned for more Disney Wish!
