DISNEY WORLD 2022 RECAP | UPDATES, CHANGES & OUR THOUGHTS! 

The thought of taking a Disney trip is insanely overwhelming. I think we will sit this one out 😂

i spent almost an hour watching this even though i’m not invested in disney. it was just fun & i like watching you guys together on your show.

So excited for this, love all the Disney content! We’re going with my whole family next year and sent my sister your reel for inspo!! 💕 I am the Dan in my family with all the planning and Disney knowledge 😂

Never been to Disney, don’t have it on my bucket list BUT I watched this as I just love watching you two together….you make such a great couple! X

I live in the Orlando area and I’ve been visiting the parks forever. I recently went to Epcot and Animal Kingdom while my cousin was here with her family. They are a family of five and she was 7mo pregnant… She hired a guide (third party) and if you ever had the opportunity and the means of course, it was an amazing experience! There was zero planning day of, you show up and they escort you around! Of course plenty of planning on the front end with what rides you want to do and where you want to eat but they coordinate every single thing. Walked us right up to our fast line and were waiting when we came out. She even had Starbucks for us when we met at the park! She kept the baby if it was a ride or something that she couldn’t be on and she took care of the stroller and all the things. Glad y’all enjoy the parks as much as you do!

I’m only a few moments in and I appreciate your and Dan’s honesty. Where you guys are is where most of everyone is for one reason or another. We want to enjoy Disney but then it’s becoming difficult to continue to support them. I have never been to Disney and each year my husband and myself have started to revisit the issue of going something has happened. I read a article recently where is said only the top 5% of families will ever be able to visit Disney in their lifetime. Idk how true that is but if that is true that means 95% of families will never get to go and that’s pretty sad when the destination has been marketed as the happiest place on earth. I do wish they would stop continuing to raise prices but it’s like y’all said, if we are willing to pay I guess they know they can. Even still I would love to go at least once with my husband. I appreciate you two taking the time to make this video and your openness and your even kilter Disney thoughts.

Extra magic hours for after park closure is only for guests staying at deluxe resorts now, as opposed to all Walt Disney resorts. This is another example of how you said Disney is catering to certain guests now.

Thank you so much! Going in Oct. for the first time and taking out 4 and 5.5 yr. Olds. Sooo overwhelming- the lightning lane/fast pass is confusing. Thank you guys for doing this; it’s very appreciated. Also, I love you two together- you have a beautiful family!

Evening magic hours are now only for deluxe (including dvc) resort guests, not for anyone staying at a Disney resort. Dining plans have not been brought back since pre COVID so that's not an option for now. DVC home resort bookings start at 11 months out, and non home resorts 7 months. If you're looking to add more points on I would highly recommend looking at resale, since you already have your direct/blue card purchase. For dining, you've got to try out Jaleo. I know there are other locations around the US but it's amaaaazing food and Jose Andres is a fabulous person.

I grew up going on family vacations to Disney. Those memories will be with me forever, however, I have lost the desire to go back. Our last trip was in November of 2017. I’m thankful that my three kids are older, so they got to go to Disney multiple times. Now, they don’t ask to go back. I don’t want a vacation which I have to plan every second of every day. I want more of a relaxing vacation. I do still prefer Disneyland, due to the weather and size. I will visit that park again on a future California trip. There are so many other vacation experiences that are worth visiting, without breaking the bank. Disney World has lost the magic that it once held.

Love this video! I’m a Disney nerd too! I wish the dining plan would come back. I’m with Dan i love animal kingdom Jambo house! I would recommend crystal palace character breakfast one of my faves. Chef Mickeys has a lot of hype it wasn’t as good as people made it out for me. You def have to do the Disney cruise it’s such an amazing experience!!

I went once and it was enough and this was 20 years ago. There are so many other places to take kids like State parks to fish, ride bikes and enjoy the scenery. We just have found other places that isn't packed and we can truly enjoy!!! Maybe if they get a new CEO that actually cares about Disney and families.

I just got back from WDW and we didn’t use genie plus at all.. we did rope drop early magic hours every day and we managed to do all the rides without having to pay! 👍👍👍 we are from the UK so the jet lag did us a favour as we were up so early anyway!

I know what you are saying about the prices being high. But…they are packing the parks I don’t see how they lower the price. They are still short staffed too. I think when the attendance goes down they will lower the price. And everything is so expensive now. Like just a beach trip.

Wow!😳. Sounds like a total nightmare. I am so glad my kids were never into Disney. I went when I was a little kid in the 80’s, but I know it was way different then. Some people love it and that is fine, but definitely not my jam. 🙂

Haven’t been following very much Bob Chapek news. What’s bad about him?

I’m the planner for our family & I’m not a Chapek fan either. Though, I’ve noticed small changes since 2009, not long after Iger took over. It’s been obvious for a while that the employee training had changed, and I think the pandemic really allowed them to get rid of a lot of things quickly. The current head of parks, Josh D’amro, needs to shoulder the blame for the parks current conditions as well. He’s more personable, so I think he gets away with it easier than Chapek, who really is a numbers guy. We haven’t been back since Feb 2020 because I’d read so many bad experiences. Hoping the parks are getting a bit better, we’re planning to try early Dec-I LOVE Christmas time at WDW. Our kids graduated high school this year (twins), so it’s our first time without them. Think I’ll skip Guardians because I’ve read where people felt the throw-up of other guests splash back on them while riding. I’m not chancing that! My husband can ride while I shop & drink in World Showcase. 😂 Thanks for sharing your experience. Gathering as much info as I can for our upcoming trip now that so much has changed.

Why don’t you take motion sickness meds before rides like avatar or guardians?

I cant do that ride or anything like it aka a rollercoaster bc I get sick bc I rode the dinosaur ride one time years ago and well I couldnt keep my eyes open not bc it's scary bc its not but bc it going fast 1 min next sec it slows down really quickly to go fast again then normal speed next sec I already feel like I'm on a roller coaster just with out loops and being upside down.but I can do soarin tho . And that's why I havent been back to Disney in like a million years bc it's so expensive and this time we are going to go with my niece and nephew and other family which will be their first time but not mine or my other family members first time. I go once every what feels like a million years bc its expensive but I do have such a good time tho when I do go

Love the video. I agree with Dan, Bob Chapek needs to go. We are locals and live 20 mins away. Disney doesn’t care about its locals. We would go after dinner, get a snack and ride a couple of rides with fast passes. It would be ridiculous for us to pay for Genie Plus when we go for a couple of hours in the evening. They have definitely become more money hungry since opening back up from Covid.

Magic hours are no longer for ALL Disney Resort paying customers. This perk is now ONLY for the rich, who can afford the DelUxE resorts!! The future longevity of Disney is being discussed amongst many cult fans and financial experts. It doesn't look good the way it's been going. At some point the Ultra rich are going to top out the "lil" rich and eventually there will not be enough Ultra rich to keep Disney afloat. The financial stability of this country lays on the back of the large percentage of middle class families; the small % of really wealthy world travelers won't go to Disney on the regular.

I’m personally boycotting all things Disney, for many reasons which i wont discuss here,,its not hard to find out why..

I’m a huge Disney fan always have been and live in so cal but unfortunately Disney has gone a little to woke IMO and it’s become a deterrent to go and I agree with your husband about disneys CEO.
