To me these plans are definately not worth the price. The only way you get the value is if you get coctails with the meals. Soda, or tea with even some of the most expensive meals may barely break even. I used the plan the first time i went to disney and realized that as lucky as i was to be able to book the most popular reservations...these dining plans do not include tip. So if you did pick the most expensive restaurants you should be tipping usually 20 percent of the cost of the meal. So truthfully you are paying several hundred more throughout a week trip that is not 'prepaid". and as you said some require two credits for one meal. The Mug is new..but most of the days are spent in park...unlike universal studios they have yet to have all you can drink in park mugs. Basically you need to pick a table service which is no less than 60 dollars, 20 dollars for quick service, and 10 for a snack with the mug daily price just to break even. There are tons of very good restaurants that cost half that price...Boma to name one off hand. they used to have 2 snacks a day as opposed to one..and from what i am hearing portion sizes have gotten smaller. which definately does not make the plan look appealing even more. i will definately stick paying out of pocket..a disney gift card allocated for just dining use, and another disney gift card allocated for souvenires to me is a much better way to go. Of course these are just my opinions..so take them with a grain of salt.

I get what you are saying, 100%, especially since I don't drink cocktails or even soda. But some locations do include tips and the cost of food/dining has and will continue to go up - so for the family who wants all the things...this could be a deal for them. For me, going solo...its not. So really depends on what and how you eat. And I do wish the mugs worked in the parks like at Universal and I miss the 2 snacks as those were my fave. Thanks for watching/commenting!

I'm so glad you made this video. First time we went back in 2017 we got the Dinning Plan and I didn't know that we were able to save the points and use them until we leave. Honestly I had alot of credits but didn't think much of it and we sadly let them go. If I would have know we could of save the snacks credit until our check out time I would have done that and grab as much snacks possible to take home. Well at least I know now how to really use them.
@MermaidNinaTravels
@MermaidNinaTravels Год назад
Sadly many were using the plan wrong which is why many say its not worth it. Disney doesn't exactly share the BEST ways to use the plan. But 100% use ALL those credits and enjoy. Thanks for watching/commenting!

I think you pretty much nailed it with your information. Only thing I would add would be the use of snack credits at Epcot festival booths. Those snacks are pricey.👍

I’m going through and seeing if it would be worth it for our family, I have a question about the snacks. Would the Cheshire Cat Tail, the Sleepy Hollow Nutella fruit waffle , or Gaston’s cinnamon roll considered a snack or a quick service meal? I was thinking snack right??

Does the quick service plan include sides or just an entree. For example at Casey’s corner would one credit cover corn dog nuggets and fries or just the corn dog nuggets?
@MermaidNinaTravels

At Casey's, the dogs come with fries already, so that is the entrée. We just got the plant-based dog with fries, ONE price...its a meal. Thanks for watching/commenting!

I can’t see any ‘fine print’ on this as someone else commented? Would be interested to see if the $15 for QS and $60 for TS applies for the current 2024 DP while I’m trying to plan our first trip ever. As I’ve searched everywhere and Disney do not state restrictions on value ? @MermaidNinaTravels

Being from AUSTRALIA the tax and gratuity is always so confusing and seems so high once you ad it onto the table service meals . Am I tight in thinking I still have to pay that approx extra 25% even if I have purchased the dining plan ? Or if it all included ?

The dining plan only covers dessert. Can you use points for the main, dessert and the cocktail. But pay for starter and any extra sides in cash? I wouldn’t want to use snack credits for that. Can the extra items be paid for in cash like you do for tip?
@MermaidNinaTravels

@@ScottJR7302 Snacks are usually at Quick Service locations, like I want to just order fries or at a Snack stand. But yes, I would usually say...I want to use a snack credit on this. OR they will ask...using the Dining Plan? Communication is key with these credits.

**THE FINE PRINT: There is a maximum price for quick service entree-$14.99, table service-$59.99. Most restaurants where you might order a $59.99 entree, require 2 table service credits. I couldn’t order the filet at Le Cellier $62, nor the ribs at Flame Tree $16.49, because they exceed the maximum price for a credits. California Grill is not allowed at all for any amount of credits. Most character meals are two table service credits. This is not the deal they make it out to be.
@MermaidNinaTravels

I will dig deeper when its out, but I have never heard of this. Many meals for QS are over the $15 and Cali Grill has always been 2 credits (not sure about 2024) and there are plenty of Character Meals that were/are 1 credit. We will know more in 2024. Thanks for watching/commenting!
