We had a very interesting, but fun, vacation during Hurricane Matthew at Walt Disney World! It was so odd seeing Magic Kingdom empty and hunkering down at Bay Lake Tower and the Contemporary resort. Disney Cast Members did an excellent job keeping the magic alive (around the sand bags, parked monorail and closures). We had fun meeting characters, playing games, watching movies and hanging out in the arcade to pass the time until parks reopened. Resorts also offered special discounted menus for families.
