Made it thru ok and just talked to my parents who stayed at a friends house and they are good too . When the roads clear I’ll go check on my celebration place to make sure no major damage . Really impressed with the stability of the contemporary and felt much safer than my little place in Celebration . Also talked to a few cast members and Disney put them all up in rooms and paid them for 48 hours straight even when off the clock which I thought was a proper thing to do . Hope everyone is ok and continues to ride this out
Adam!!! My daughter Shannon is a DCP Cast Member and is working at the Contemporary during the storm. She is in the background of your video at 24:20!!! Thank you for showing that! I know my girl is safe. We are Californians and never experienced a hurricane before. Love your videos!! Hi to Brickey as well.
Hi Debbie, I work with your daughter and she is fantastic! We are lucky to have her on our team. She was in good hands for the storm and in one of the safest spots of central Florida. Cheers!
Wowza that got crazy!! I think I saw those monorail doors closed one time since I started going in 74. I give a shout out to all those cast members who worked thru this!!! They are true stars!!!
Man you always seem to get the crazy weather. I Remember a year or two ago you went through Texas and the deep freeze they had. Be safe and glad your family is safe also
Great to see you made it through Ian Adam! I made it through with a few leaves and branches littering the road outside the house! The worst is over except for the cold temperature and a little wind! We shall rebuild though! WE ARE FLORIDA STRONG MY FRIEND!!!! 💪💪💪
So glad you and your family are safe! We've been praying for you all and are still lifting prayers for the others who have been devastated by this storm,. Thank you for the update, please stay safe.
Loving this vlog. BLT is our home away from home, so it's awesome to see you there. Thank you for showcasing our favorite place during the storm......stay safe....
Just like a true Floridian waiting for the last minute to get to the shelter😂😂😂 I think I’m gonna do the next hurricane at the contemporary that seems like an awesome idea you know there’s food and water and you have lots of room to walk around inside of the building you’re not pinned up in your little home. Great video Adam as always the Woo❤
We are locked down at wilderness lodge and they have been great taking care of us and entertaining us in the lobby...if I had to be stuck I am glad it is here with my family and friends...stay safe
Glad to hear your safe in the Contemporary but wow those winds looked wild. Hope it doesn’t get much worse. Happy to see you had Brickey for company. 👍
That’s where I would stay! Very cool you were able to walk over to the Magic Kingdom. Great deal at Chef Mickey’s😋 Glad to hear that your parents are with friends and safe. I wish this was a longer Vlog, I could watch this all day! Great job on this video and a big thumbs up from us👍🏻
Livin the life😍lucky you getting to ride the storm out at the Contemporary! I saw live reports from the shelter at Celebration HS where many families had to go😢 We have branches and roof shingles to pick up🤪
Many years ago my good friend & her husband were on vacation at Disney rode out a hurricane at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. She called to let me know she ok & but her husband was on the balcony trying to film the hurricane. This was in the day of VHS cameras (he was a videographer). He had tethered himself to the rail & she wanted my husband to convince him to come inside. My husband was unsuccessful (he encouraged him to film more). Her husband got some great footage though. LOL 📼😂
Good to see you made it through ok. I'm looking at the satellite map on my phone around noon Thursday on West coast and it looks like most of it is in the Atlantic Ocean now. That run to your room was crazy!
Glad you and your folks are okay. Was a scary time there for a little bit. Watched as much coverage as I could on tv but eventually the stress got to me and I had to shut it off lol Thanks for posting and letting us know how it all went. Disney has redeemed itself a little bit, taking good care of it's patrons and employees. Kudos to them.
Watched the path of the storm all day yesterday - Wednesday - Changed path to go through Orlando and to east coast then up coast and then inland again. Storm was moving very slow and dropping loads of water! Still was windy and rainy when I hit the hay.
Glad you're safe. . I hope all my family and friends in Florida are safe also. My aunt and uncle left Venice Beach to head to Kissimmee. Not sure what they will be going back to .
Glad too see that things are getting better...😎Morning Woo, Rad spot to ride out the Storm, very cool u got to document this.."Best Remove em" at its finest🤣
We were hunker downed at universals endless summer. Our room had a great view of I drive. They also offered extremely good hurricane rates as we were only booked in until today. We also managed to visit Dezerland after watching one of your vlogs Adam and was very impressed with it. Also saw the old vans skate park which we visited with my kids in 2012. We're from Australia and my 9 yr old son at the time had a personalized skateboard built. Cool memories that your vlogs have reignited. Thanks for your vlogs and missed you at d23 a month ago.
I have seen an tone of these videos but you by far have the best one yet with the best coverage. I live in Lake County so I know what has happened to our state 😔 thanks for your coverage it's awesome 😁
I got so lucky and my power stayed on! I'm on the west coast. Friday and Saturday will be sunny and beautiful. And all the humidity was sucked away because of the hurricane. ♥
I KNEW IT!! I commented on your last video i thought you were gonna meet up with Brickey. Were all glad you guys made it through ok and MomtheWoo/DadtheWoo is safe and sound
@@2016Bmac - Great suggestions! AVOID the Red Cross, as the majority of money does NOT get to victims, but rather goes to the outrageous salaries of administration.
Great and fun Video for a Hurricane watch. Glad you are both okay and that Brickey has a friend. Remember not to lose your hats....Best remove 'em....LOL Have fun this weekend.
Please stay safe Adam!! If it weren't such a dire sitch I would consider your next few days at WDW a warm n fuzzy adventure (I love rainy days)... you guys just stay safe!!!!
Still waiting to hear from my folks in Ft. Myers. Though through the grapevine I heard that everyone in their subdivision who hunkered down are safe and accounted for. Make sure to brag at Tim that you answered his question about what Fort Wilderness folks do during a hurricane. Stay safe Florida! ❤️
glad you guys are safe! i am safe! it felt so weird Disney gave me "random" days off... I did not and could not volunteer for the ride out and clean up crew... my friend canceled her flight, she was suppose to come out tue night and leave fri...
Hi Adam, have been watching the hurricane on our news here in Australia. They are reporting that millions are without power. So frightening for everyone. Hope all is ok
An old military veteran told me once live near a fire station or police station and you'll never lose power. Sure enough I next lived in a townhouse apartment just outside of Boston for almost 15 years in the early 2000's and that house never lost power once. We had a fire and police station three blocks away.
Lee county on the West Coast of Florida has been devastated. Sadly reported many fatalities. It's heartbreaking. Glad your parents and yourself are safe. Flooding is bad around Orlando.
@@Ronaldl2350 actually just saw a report at the Marina...boats smashed, replaceable. Seems material things in this report was all they cared about. True some are people's homes, so hopefully they were not in them.
I’m glad you are safe. That hotel is absolutely gorgeous!! I got to go into that hotel quickly to get on the monorail so beautiful!!! My bf and his family is at the hard rock for hhh.
He did? He was in Utah, several thousand miles away from the hurricane. Riding out the storm there would have been a wiser move, but it doesn't carry the same clout as going to Disney during a hurricane.
Love your upbeat videos! I think you'll be pretty safe at Walt Disney World. Hopefully you will all be able to help the unfortunate when the storm goes by!
Great to know that you and your family are safe! Once again, Orlando escapes. Orlando's strategic position in the middle of Florida protects the city and the surrounding areas from the very worse a hurricane can do. And once again, we see how smart Walt was. He knew exactly what he was doing when he picked the place. Yes, "cheap land" was a factor, but not the only one.
@@cag19549 It's true that flooding and damage occurred, but I was mostly referring to lives, which is what matters most. I know a lot of people from Orlando who are doing ok. And I haven't seen any news about deaths too, just flooding and damage. I never said that a cat 5 hurricane wouldn't do damage. But all things considered, all the lives spared, the amount of areas not flooded or damaged within the region and a cat 5 hurricane, I would say they avoided the worst. About Walt, can you prove he didn't consider it? Don't act like hurricanes are a new thing, he knew about them. And knew that the coastal cities are typically the most affected areas.
When you mentioned the "overlook" I thought of the "Overlook Hotel" hahaha, I think you should be good with your vehicle up high and you being in that building, you should be good. Take care.
In 2005 I was working the Disney internship and hurricane Wilma came through. The parks were only closed for half a day since the storm came through late the night before. I just remember how it mostly rained and there was wind, but nothing too bad. But one thing that fascinated me most was how much cooler the air felt after Wilma left. It had been so hot and humid and after that, everything cooled down, it was nice. Anyway, this was a nice perspective of things, hoping everyone else made it out okay.
My family took refuge at WDW after Wilma in 2005. Stayed 2 weeks at the Pop Century until the power got restored back home in South Florida, thank goodness they had accommodations and weren't filled with rubber necking vloggers. Great cast members at the hotel hosted a nice impromptu Halloween night for my kid.
@@stifledvoice Oh yeah I forgot that South Florida had no power for a while. My grandparents had a business down in Palm Beach during that time and my grandmother called me up a few days after the storm saying she had enough of no power and was at the house in Mount Dora and I was welcome to stop by. I don't think I did though because my schedule was kind of all over the place.
I’ve always known they evacuate Fort wilderness but I’ve always wondered where they put the RVs thanks for that info it was truly need . And how awesome is Disney putting them into the hotels. Don’t tell me Disney doesn’t care about their guest❤
