Disney X Fortnite BAD or GOOD? 

I just hope that Disney doesn’t end up in control of Fortnite, in any way shape or form. They already screwed up their biggest franchises, and I would not like to see Fortnite follow suit. (Disney apparently owns 10% of Fortnite)

I'm worried that they will indeed lose the casual players that enjoyed playing BR completely. If you're anything like me than you know that STW is the only safe haven for casual play since it's just pure fun which is my primary mode nowadays

This probably isn't gonna happen but the end of the trailer on soonish makes me think that there's a possibility next season could be a disney season like the marvel one a while back of skins from disney's different branches and with the leaks of Jake Sulley from avatar coming into the game being somewhat confirmed off this they could just do skins from like pixar star wars marvel and avatar in the pass

Disney, when i was growing up, seemed nice, but once you look at the corp side, it's awful second only to nestle in bad pr. They only care about 'inclusivity', which isn't bad but comes at the cost of STORYLINE, one of the main things that make entertainment brands famous. Marvel post endgame released like 1 or 2 bangers whilst the rest is just slop (she hulk if i say more) and dont get me started on the things the higher-ups say, literally one of them said without me exaggerating that "they would trample ANY brand" for the sake of their virtue signaling. I have been on epics side for EVERYTHING since I started but this… This draws the line. Disney in greed.

i have supported epic games for a long time now. sure i had my problems with the games, some of them have been involved with collaborations. however, this is were they go to far. the thing that made me love this game to begin with was the gameplay, but the thing that kept me playing even dearing chapter 2 was its story. i loved the universe fortnite created and i'm fascinated about the zero point as a whole. season og was the perfect season for fortnite to understand how to improve and adapt to that season, but they ignored it. they don't know what makes the game good hints why they did the complete opposite thing this season. they only care about the money now. that's why we got so many unnecessary changes this season, that's why we got so many bosses and broken items, thats why we got such a bad christmas event, and thats why we got 3 game modes that are fun but not good to have in a battle royel game. they only care about what will make them the most money, even if it means bringing the quality of the game down as low as you can go. for me, almost everything there doing now has effected my enjoyment of the game. sense there so focused on all this pointless stuff, they leave battle royel to starve. sense they care more about collabs then its own story, they abandoned the thing that gave them an identity to begin with. sense epic cares to much about appealing to people that would be under the age to even play fortnite, it leaves the ones that stuck with them to this point to feel left out. if next season manages to fail, it will be my final season with the game. why stick with a game that doesn't care about the people that brought it up to begin with.

To be honest, i think the last time disney aquiring something was for the best was when they aquire pixar, otherwise, everything they just aquired it or they made it worse. I still hold them spite because they were the reason club penguin closed in my childhood. And also there is two sides of disney x fornite colabs: the galactus event and the "break it ralph: breaks the internet" event. That last one not bc of the collab itself, but it just proves how grotesque disney multiverse can look, feel and affect a franchise (break it ralph 1 my beloved)

I'm thinking like you, Pat. I would like fortnite to keep its own storyline and continue with it. Maybe Disney can help with that, and between them, they can bring it back in a great way. It is scary to think, though, what changes will happen if epic games continues to sell off bits and pieces of fortnite. I just started playing less than a year ago, and I really want the storyline to continue. But it seems like they are veering away from it. Sad 😔

Here's my take. Ralph Breaks the Internet was the first collab with an outside company in Fortnite. Disney previously tried making their own thing with Disney Infinite, and it didn't work, so it's better for Disney to find a partner who has already succeeded and join them. Also, Disney used to create their own tech in house, and Lucasfilm and other companies used ILM for meat of their special effects and digital content. Now they're highly reliant on Unreal. They probably want to own at least a partial stake, having recognized it as a major part of film, games, TV, and even possibly VR going into the future. If you were an early adopter of any technology, and have the imagination to see its potential going forward, why wouldn't you want to get a small piece of that while investing in its future?

Tbh i think this is WAYY bigger than Fortnite. This could be good or bad for Fortnite but i think this screams bad for the industry itself. 1. Epic owns the largest competitor to steam. Its trash and no one wants to use it. Now Disney has insensitive to promote it. Tbf Sony does aswell and they still put there games on Steam. 2. More importantly Disney is a **FLIM** company. They have no holdings in any other video game venture. This marks the beginning of Disney and likely serval more studios not involved in the industry at all entering the gaming market. With several Studios going down and/or facing hard times, we can only guess what or who could buy them, now that Disney has officially entered the market.
