I think they can remove Autopia and replace it with a space or futuristic style ride (even a small coaster), and use the back side near Matterhorn to make a Frozen ride, within fantasy land. It would be the perfect spot. Matterhorn looks like the frozen mountain from the first movie, they just need to add snow to the back side. The location is themed for it already.

I know. But unfortunately, the track isn't even configured for PeopleMover anymore. They really do just need to put the effort into bringing it back though. It's an extra ride that could be relieving crowds and they don't even need extra space. It's all there.

@@SoCalSurfer69 You mean Astro Orbitor. It’s actually better where it is from a logistics standpoint. Using the elevator at WDW to get up higher severely limits the number of people in the area. But it actually can’t go up high anymore due to its weight and the ground sinking from it being too heavy where it previously was.

I like that Hauted Mansion is adding the future for ADA. Yay, I love Mark Twain Riverboat. I always sit up front. It's a thing I do every time. I also like when there by the trestle and the train and the boat meet each other and they do that little song. It's fun. Specially if you never experience it.

@@SoCalDisneyDad it's super cool. You will have to go on one of them. It's all on luck. The Riverboat has to be by the train trestle. And the train is already approaching the bridge. The drivers have to see each other. And then magic happens.

Do you know what happened to the Matterhorn? It was closed all morning on the app with Closed not Temporarily closed. Now it doesn’t show a star or anything on the app.

I don’t know. The only thing I heard was that whatever is wrong is going to take some time to fix it. Yesterday, the cast members said that if it comes back it would be significantly later in the evening, but they didn’t have any more information to share. If it’s taking longer, then it’s probably a bigger issue than they anticipated.

All the construction was a bummer, having 4+ rides down really affected the wait times. Tuesday was also such a busy day!

That’s definitely a factor. But it’s been busy in general this off-season, and I mostly attribute this to the $50 kids tickets. But it’s probably a bit of both, and the reservation system doesn’t help any. As people are more intentional about going now. You can’t just decide not to go or you’ll get a penalty on your pass.

First time going to DCA since 2015. Well actually, I’m going to DL but got the park hopper. Was looking forward to riding incredicoaster for the first time, since back in 2015 I was only 11 and too scared. But oh wow, I’m going in March 8🫤

Can we all agree that Tomorrowland is more like yesterday land. It’s out dated. It needs a complete demolition and reimagining.

WDW is making efforts to improve theirs. Tron is a huge leap forward for them. But I'm fairly certain Disneyland has no intentions to touch ours at all. They're too focused on other projects (like expanding the park). Which isn't a bad thing, but they could absolutely make some cosmetic updates that shouldn't take a lot of work, but would freshen the land.

If it had opened when it was supposed to, you would have been fine. They've been delaying their reopenings for some reason. Astro Orbitor is another that's been pushed back.

I’ll be there on the 8th and was thinking we should stay by Matterhorn since it’s close to where the parade will start and it would take less time for them to get to us than Main Street. So sad about Incrediocoaster, but very excited for the food & wine festival! Not sure how the spring break crowds will be since we'll be going right at the start of it on March 9/10, but I'm excited to be back in the parks after not being there for almost a year 😊

It was pretty busy today. But I expect the bulk of the crowds to hit starting around the 15th or so. But it’s definitely getting busier already. Especially with Food and Wine starting today. Still rode 6 rides today and we weren’t even really trying. Today was all about getting food and just walking around (to earn the food. 🤣)

We were there on that day!! Would you say this was a busier or a less busy day? First time for us after many years so weren’t sure. It seemed over flooded with people but we still managed 20+ rides in one day!!!

It’s definitely been busier than usual for this time of year. There’s half a dozen theories on why, but nothing concrete. We will see if it’s even worse in a week or two.

Same, My nephew wants to go specifically to ride the incredicoaster because he was too scared when we went in January. My brother is not a disney Fanatic LOL but he promised to take him back for his birthday and now I am seeing its down the 8th! I am doing my research everyday to make sure that it'll be open otherwise we need to push our trip out!

So looking at that parade route are you able to cross that red line if you trying to get to the other side of the park?

Yes, there are points along the route that will cross during lulls in the parade, as the parade has huge gaps in between sets for the purpose of crossing traffic. There are tons of cast members around during parades, and I mean tons, and they’ll direct you to the nearest crossing. It is a pain, though, even so. And I generally try to avoid crossing the park during that half hour if it can be helped.

Used to be ride closures were always "dang it that's when I was planning my trip too!" type of events, now it's "oh boy, which ride are they going to put a Lightning Lane onto because it's UNFAIR to Genie+ purchasers to only ruin the experience of standby riders on 11 attractions at Disneyland, it really needs to be 12"

I like to put in the surprising ones just as I'm walking around. When I see "typical" characters I generally don't bother. Here are some character videos I did last year. Now, they do have newer characters that aren't in these videos, but this will show you a lot I believe, and where to meet them. It's possible. That's around the time frame that the rumors are indicating it'll be done. But to set the proper expectation, I would just anticipate it being closed. So you can be surprised if it does open.

That's kind of what they used that building for before. There used to be video games and things you could play in there. But in my experience with places like Disney Quest, this isn't the sort of thing people are looking to do on their Disney vacations. As cool as their tile invention is, I don't know how popular such a thing would be. Better off tearing out the theater and putting something new there, or creating an entirely new show like Carousel of Progress to use the revolving part again.

@@SoCalDisneyDad The reason they took out DisneyQuest was because their contract with Ken BrettSchnieder's company ended (I forgot what it was called, forgive me) and COVID was the last nail in the coffin. But now that restrictions have lifted and they could retain 100 percent of the profits, it seems more likely to me that they'd do that.

I could see doing a reskin for Autopia into Tron. Make the cars electric and light up. Redo the lanes to also light up (maybe have sensors so it only lights up behind you), and change the landscaping to be more tech forward. Could even redo the drivers license booth to edit you into one of the helmets! As you said, I don't see them putting the Tron coaster there, but they could still make it Tron. Honestly changing to electric and adding lights pushes it more into "Tomorrow" than what Autopia is now...

It should be. It’s hard to say as the refurb calendar only goes out to April 10th right now, but as of now, the only refurb for Cars is going on right now and it’ll be open again soon.

i was at DL-DCA for 3 days last week visiting from canada and the incredicoaster was breaking SO often. my brother and i finally did get on it the day we spent in DCA but it took ages to finally catch it when it was open. DCA was open until 10 pm the day we were there also so i did end up catching the 10:15 world of colour show so not sure if something special was going on that day.

I get your point about how it would be hard to replace autopia with Tron: lightcycle run, but how about instead they just replace the Autopia cars with side by side electric Tron motorcycles (only 1 would control the power). Use the same layout but make it indoors. Thoughts?

Until August at the earliest based on rumors, but no one knows for certain. Disney hasn’t announced a reopening date.

Going March 12 and 13th for a work trip (and our spring break as Florida spring break starts 9th) and super bummed about some of the closures and no fireworks. We live by Disney World so not the end of the world, but have missed Haunted Mansion twice now. Fireworks twice and the Bear area in California Adventure. Unsure if California adventure will now have much to keep my kid entertained...Maybe in another 7 years we can come back as that seems to be our cycle.

Disneyland is showing Fireworks for the 12th and 13th. It’s just Mickey’s Mix Magic, which is a decent show. It’s Wondrous Journeys that starts on the 15th did I say? But you’ll still have a firework show. Redwood being closed is a bummer for kids though, as it’s the only real playground at the Disneyland Resort.

Hard to say at this point. It’s closed at least through April 10th at the moment. But that’s as far out as the calendar goes. If it’s another 2 week refurb like the first time, then it might not open again until around the 22nd

I did notice it was closed all day yesterday. I walked by and heard them telling people it wouldn't be opening soon and it would be end of day in a best case scenario. Guest it went into today too.

As much as I think that Autopia is a total waste of space as an adult, and finds it a clunky experience and pushing the pedal really exhausting on the leg now 😝…they should keep it for the kids!! There was something so very exciting and wonderful about feeling like I was really driving a car as a kid. It’s especially great for the kids that are at age of being able to drive their own Autopia car. I say they need to revamp it. Make it a Sugar Rush Wreck It Ralph design. They could make it look so cute and fun with some simple candy structures and backdrops and plastic characters like Disgust at Emotional Whirlwind. They could even paint the cars like candy cars and put plastic gumdrops and cookies, etc on them.

Wreck it Ralph would be super fun! It is great for kids, for sure. My kids love it, and James still isn’t quite tall enough to reach the pedals, so he has something to look forward to. And I know he’s going to love driving by himself as soon as he can.
