Yet Ariel loves her prince and prefers being with him over her father and sisters. Not gonna blame her though because in my case..l I’ve always longed to run away from home to start a career that I like doing and then to be with the guy of my dreams.
I always love the silent yet powerful exchange between Prince Eric and King Triton as they both bow to one another. So much exchanged and acknowledged in just a few seconds and a simple gesture. Eric vowing to dedicate all that he is, his love, his loyalty, his strength to Ariel, while Triton acknowledges that he is indeed a strong and brave man worthy of his daughter.
Now we can walk, now we can run" now we can stay all day in the sun just you and me, and I can be Part of your world ahhh ahh ahhhh aha ahhhhhaaaaaaaaaaa" Makes me cry everytime :')
+Or Wexler IMO they should have made some kind of track like that and played it at the end of the Little Mermaid Ride in California Adventure - just because it would fit like how Ariel sings "part of your world" early on, then at the end is "Now we can walk, now we can run! Now we can stay all day in the sun!"
Well in the book it was based on, Ariel´s goal was to become human and marry Prince Eric. But she didn’t as Eric fell in love with another girl and married her. Ariel having failed, she jumped off a ship, into the sea and became sea foam.
I love this track... Especially the chorus at the end. It always makes me remember being a little kid like three years old, watching this in this very room on the couch that used to be here on our old VHS TV, thinking merpeople were real somewhere out in the ocean. I remember I used to beg my dad, who is and was a pro fisherman and angler, to find Princess Ariel for me or one of her friends so I could ask them all sorts of questions about life under the sea.
Having the chorus as the end makes the perfect ending, they did it in beauty and the beast and Aladdin too, Disney should do it again in their new movies. Man do I miss Howard Ashman
2:19 this part always makes me whell up inside. To me the heart of this film isn't the love between Ariel and Eric. It's Ariel's strained relationship with her father.
I also love how King Triton not only turned her back with gentle warmth and kindness and acceptance with his magical trident while also making sure his youngest daughter has something beautiful to wear. Very different from Ursula.
This part gives me chills every time, especially the part where ariel says "I love you daddy". I will forever love the little mermaid, it is just as old as I am, almost 26 years.
The choral reprise at the end would have been an amazing addition to the live action. It harkens back to the fairy tale atmosphere that classic Disney was known for.
I love how this and "Beauty and the Beast"' both end with a full choir singing a reprise of one of the songs... it really adds a classic Disney flavor to the finales.
2:57 I imagine the spirit of Athena shining from the heavens and saying, “Well done, my daughter. And I’m proud of you, my love, for raising her well.”
@@theharmonyofknowledge1286 Imagine, what if the mother was the one who turned into foam, sacrificing everything, after being killed by those humans. It was her decision. Think of it, Athena, now a daughter of the air.
I always choke up when I hear any of The Little Mermaid's soundtrack. It reminds me of how much I loved this movie as a kid (and still do, of course), but I used to watch it every day after school and hold my Ariel dolls in my lap. In the summer of 2003, my aunts, my mom and I went on vacation to Disney World and six-year-old me met Ariel in person. I never felt so enthralled and magical in my life. I still think back to how sweet the cast member was with me and how she told me that I would make a perfect mermaid. I think that's why this movie will always be part of my world.
This is what music means, it brings emotion and controls our feeling along with the visual. I always got emotional and cried from being overwhelmed by how amazing and happy the ending was! absolutely beautiful.
Definitely agree 100% with everything u said couldn’t have said it better this is what todays Disney is missing fr watch this the other day and this ending hit and just made me balled my eyes out great ending💯
@@ramonewilliams2446 such a good old days.. hope they bring back something classic like this. It's a Disney's charm that mesmerized me since I was a kid :)
The Disney Renaissance Era - The Little Mermaid - Beauty and the Beast - Aladdin - The Lion King - Pocahontas - The Hunchback of Notre Dame - Hercules Am I missing any? Be honest. This is without wikipedia or looking anywhere online. Just solely by memory.
The Lion King, Pocahontas, Aladdin, beauty and the beast, the princess and the frog, sleeping beauty and Snow White. Beware, I'm speaking in my HUMBLE opinion.
2:30 new lyrics: Now they can walk, now they can run - 2:34 Now that at last their story's begun! 2:41 Just you and me, 2:36 and I will be... 2:50 part of your world! 2:56 Ahhhhh!!!!!
The first two lines are actually _Now we can walk! Now we can run!_ _Now we can stay all day in the sun!_ _Just you and me! And I can be, Part of Your World!_
King Triton: “She really does love him, doesn’t she Sebastian?” Sebastian: “It’s like I was say your Majesty.. Children got to be free to lead their own life” King Triton: “You always say that?” Sebastian: “🥴😜🦀” King Triton: “Well, I guess there’s just one problem left...” Sebastian: “And what is that your Majesty?” King Triton: “How much I’m going to miss her 😢😭❤️” Can you imagine this epic ending happening soon in the live action with Halley Bailey 😍❤️?
wow, did this gave me such liquid pride? such a sweet ending. reminds me of when I will someday leave home when I'll meet the man of my dreams. this is what a touching movie with such memorable songs and quote's should be like. :')
So growing up my house was a Disney house. I grew up watching every Disney movie that came out and my brother and I were lucky enough to go to Disney World every other year or so. When I met my wife she had never been to Disney and after we got married our first really big vacation was to go to Disney World and it reignited this spark with that magic. We’re expecting our first child in a few weeks and the part of this song where the “I love you Daddy” is said breaks me down every single time. It has such a different meaning now. I’m so looking forward to her being born and bringing her to Disney and seeing that magic spark in her eyes. Sorry for the long story but it’s nice to say it out loud.
Yes..the original fairy tale did end tragically...however in this retelling, without Sebastian, no happy ending would come to the movie...Disney took one of the saddest fairy tales to restore Disney Animation to its glory, just as Ariel earned her happy ending through her struggles and tearful sacrifice of her mermaid identity.
SO TRUE. Like if you took the words out of frozen songs they'd be annoying as hell, but this is amazing! I love the beginning also like if the ocean made music that's what it would sound like. Besides the Lion King maybe no other Disney movies have a score as beautiful as TLM
I love both films (frozen being my favorite film ever) that said, I agree with you. Songs from both films are great, but the instrumental part is much better hear. I mean, in the emotive scenes like the ending... The instruments are so much meaningful here thaan frozen. I can't listen to this without smiling and droping a tear :')
I am adopting my son thru foster care and when its over Im gonna have start at "Now We can walk, now we can run,now we can stay all day in the sun" tears!!!! August cant come fast enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This movie is one of my favorites and i am a kid who is now a young adult who was young during the disney renisance decade and era who also remembers that?
The finale chorus was always a powerful part of the Disney movies, I'm sorry we don't get those anymore... And heck, they could make an entire version of the songs with the chorus and it would be fucking epic!
(Bella's Life the Movie bringing the music back): (Sebastian swam to Bella) Sebastian: Bella. Golly Gopher: Golly, I hope she's okay. Ariel: You're going to be okay, Bella. We got you.(looked at Bella's black eye) Guys, how will we explain this to my father and sisters?! (After King Triton ordered his guards to arrest Marina he noticed of what happened) King Triton: (looked at me unconscious) It's all my fault. If I shouldn't ban the music then none of this would've happened. Ariel: (Opened the music box) Kenny XLR8, Bella's Cartoon Pals, Ariel, King Triton, Flounder, Sebastian, and the Catfish Club: (singing) Oh, the waves roll low And the waves roll high And so it goes Under a bright blue endless sky, Waves try to measure. The days that we treasure Wave hello, and wave goodbye... Bella: (Wakes up) What happened? Did I miss out on anything? Tux the comedian penguin: (hugged Bella) Bella, we were worried sick. Crocco the alligator: We thought you got killed back there. Golly Gopher: Please don't black out on us like that. Ariel: We're happy you're okay! Bella: (looked at Sebastian) Thank you for saving me. (gently hugged Sebastian) King Triton: I'm letting music to return to the kingdom. Ariel: Thanks, daddy. King Triton: It's nothing.
0:00-0:05 Smoke emerging from the sea’s and into the skies as sounds of explosion….. or perhaps Ursula Disintegrating are heard from inside the sea. 0:05 Inside the sea, The Trident sinks down along with the remains of Ursula. Some of the remains sink down near where Ursula’s lair resides.
The Little Mermaid has been my ultimate favorite Disney movie since I was 3 when I first saw this in 1989. I wanted to be like her brave, strong, and not let no one hold her back. I also love Beauty and the Beast and Lion King. Memories 🌹
