This PMV is based on a brief scene in the book #5 preview where Lionblaze attempts to interrogate Shadowsight, and blames him for all the events that have happened. Some canon events from the previous books have been changed slightly to fit the PMV better, and I only read half of Darkness Within because it sucked so don’t bother me about that.
This is my first completed PMV and a culmination of about 3 weeks of work. I had the idea and instantly started, and i didn’t really take time to board i just did a quick “script” and went off of that. I’m pretty proud of how it came out, but some parts in the middle get pretty clunky where I started to lose steam, but I regained it towards the end. The end slideshow is just a general prediction for the books, like Lionblaze making Ivypool his unofficial deputy, and some vague examples for what's already happened.

I like that in this PMV you can feel bad for Shadowsight, but also for Lionblaze. I hope they both make peace, because Lionblaze was also manipulated when he was young, by the Dark Forest. Your designs are great! Simple and clear. Now I live for Tree's moustache.

I wanna point out that ashfur was lionblazes mentor, and shadow was manipulated by ashfur. I feel like lion could've 100% saw himself in shadow if he'd taken the wrong path and ends up taking it out on him. its very interesting to me idk lion is kinda an asshole but he's so interesting to me, I love analyzing him.

Lionblaze had potential to be a good character, but the authors threw that away and instead focused more on hollyleaf and Jayfeather. It was worth it though to be honest :/

@melodysmusicaladventures596 agree. If the book hadn't cut off so harshly any parent/kid love left between Bramble and the three after the reveal, maybe I would've feel for him, but they did. If the book had made a point that Lionblaze was acting out *because* he himself was manipulated and he was handling it poorly, I would've feel for him. But they didn't. They just made him rude for the sake of traumatizing Shadowsight even more.

I feel like Lionblaze went through a lot of struggle in TBC. His father figure was torn away from him, his mother figure was for a while too, which caused him to temporarily become leader of ThunderClan. His cats yelled at him and accused him of being a bad leader, saying that Ivypool or Mousewhisker would be better. In The Broken Code, Lionblaze is stressed, torn, and heartbroken, and I think this PMV helps show that as well as Shadowsight’s struggle. Thank you for this!

I haven't yet read Darkness Within or the preview of Place Of No Stars but I can't wait to read it. I feel bad for Lionblaze since his adopted father and mother are missing. Plus his actual mother recently died, his sister is dead, his cousin got attacked by dogs, he has to possible kill his adopted fathers body, he has to watch as his clan slowly falls apart around him. However he shouldn't be treating Shadowsight like this. Shadowsight has also been through so much and he got manipulated. Lionblaze got manipulated too and he should understand.

I LOVE THIS SO MYCH!! there isn’t enough broken code content. i love how lionblaze isn’t completely villianized in this even tho he was lowkey an asshole in this book. it’s obvious he is still scarred from his manipulative experiences with the dark forest and was extremely worried for squilf when she was taken by ash into the moonpool. he’s most likely acting out of grief and anger, rather than true hatred for shadowsight. i mean shadowsight did help him escape, no matter the reason. either way the vibes of this are super cool and provide lots of backstory for the main scene. i love how old and drained mistystar looks also lmao i hope these two make peace at the end of the arc when lion realizes shadow isn’t what he seems and ash and bramble are (hopefully) dead for good. they are both in a morally gray area that i am glad you explored in this pmv!!

@@Cornbread_ Actually, Greystripe comes back and Lionblaze voluntarily steps down. Seeing as how his legitimacy as leader was being called into question and Greystripe had unquestionable credentials with the Clan, it was a smart choice.

Oh wow, this ended up making me actually reconsider my feelings toward Lionblaze's development in the recent books. I kind of saw a lot of Bramblestar in him when he would constantly villanize Shadowsight and his outbursts when deciding what to do with the impostor. This doesn't really justify his behaviour but it contextualizes it in a way that makes sense for a character like Lionblaze (--Who ngl had moments like this in TPOT and OOTS) Might end up making some fanart for this but yeah, I really love the parallel of Shadowsight who has been manipulated by Ashfur, ostracised from his family the and clans as a result, and has been through helll throughout all this. Then Lionblaze who has been affected by losing much of his family, losing Starclan, thunderclan's dividedness and having to lead said clan. As a result he'd rationalize it by blaming Shadowsight. Honestly a lot better development than his plight of trying not to kill cats by accident because hE's just tOO powerfulL oh nO!!1!. What a dilemma lol. Absolutely brilliant this is.

I absolutely ADORE this. Here’s a few reasons why: You can understand the reasoning behind why Lionblaze is doing this, and it doesn’t show him just as a cruel brute who doesn’t care about anybody, you see that he is just trying to avenge his father and is doing what he thinks is right. The way how you animated the shifts between scenes is just amazing, like the one where it shifted to the battle? I absolutely loved that. And how you used the background voice as Shadowsight’s voice?? Arghhh You also made the lyrics fit the song like so well (for example, when the song said ‘you’ll stay here' you showed Lionblaze shoving Shadowsight into the den and covering the exit with the brambles. And how you did the ‘I just see a scared kid' gave me chills, man. The thumbnail though, ARGH. The thumbnail looks like it could be in a map, and it CAUGHT MY EYEEEEE. That is a major part of animations, you need a thumbnail to catch the consumers eye. Now, the way you kept the tension really kept me interesting and made me not wanna skip through any small detail. That is impressive for me, as normally, the first time I watch an animation, I sometimes skip through some parts, and with yours, I didn’t skip at ALL. I also love the ending, it gives it the 'I WANT MOREE' feeling, so great job! The designs are also just.. ARGHHHH- ART!! Keep up the amazing work!!

I think it’s an interesting take on his character and makes sense? Lionblaze was never really great at being sympathetic to cats even if he could relate to them. Ex. He was pretty harsh with Dovepaw not wanting to be part of the prophecy, and didn’t make any attempt to tell Tigerheart not to visit the DF because he was unable to swallow his pride. Plus, Lionblaze is grieving from the loss of his father, mother, two kits, and his depressed daughter, so it makes sense he doesn’t sympathize with Shadowsight.

idk why, but I really enjoyed the fact that you had Dovewing, Tigerstar, and Tawnypelt there the majority of the time. I just really liked how you got to see their reactions to this whole scenario, they didn't seem happy, but at the same time, they didn't really fight against it. May not love the way Lionblaze handled this, but this really portrayed it well, and showed his perspective on this whole thing! I feel bad for our sad medicine cat! Awesome video!

How it reflects on Ashfur's manipulation, Shadowsight's own life and thoughts, all the things caused by Ashfur while he was in Bramblestar's body, Lionblaze's frustration and anger, the emotions of the other cats... I love how accurately you portray this, as well as the designs of the other cats! Great job with this; it's great!

I feel so bad for everyone in the books right now, because of what they've been through (tho I think Lionblaze was a little... too harsh in the preview), but Shadowsight... IDK, this pmv makes me unable to hold my tears - both because of how wonderful it is made but also of Shadowsight. Everyone's hate is now turned on him, he has only his family with him now, but he only did what the thought was Starclan's will... It's just hurt to imagine what guilt and pain he must feel right now. Poor boy.

That boy has more trauma than any Warrior I seen. He's been through so much. Getting blamed, treated like a kit, and have lost his connection with StarClan when he really never had an connection and plus, Ashfur tried to kill him like three times. Once in the living world and twice in The Dark Forest. Like, you think Rootspring is traumatized because of Bristlefrost's death and his time, nah, Ashfur just enjoyed ruining Shadowsight.

god I feel so bad for Lionblaze. his former mentor, the cat who tried to kill him and his siblings, and ruined multiple cat’s lives, is now causing near deaths in all his family members and creating this big dramatic thing. and, now there’s a cat who Lionblaze suspects helped said cat out in his plan, and now his sons are also gone and there’s just so much and I want to give him a hug

Everyone is like "OMG Darkness Within RUINED Lionblaze" y'all lionblaze was ALWAYS kind of a bad cat. Not a bad cat MORALLY like he saved the day, whoohoo he's a hero. But he's DONE bad things-killed when warriors DON'T kill it's part of their code, he took the life of Russetfur, AND one of Harestar's lives. He immediately disobeyed his acting leader and wanted to kill the impostor. Leader's word is law. He broke that. He had a little training session in the dark forest yet hated Ivypool for doing the same thing at first. He straight up USED Dovepaw and when she said no, he just told her to do it anyways. Jayfeather told him he acts with his claws and not his head. I'm sorry, but I just can't like a cat who says OUT LOUD "i wish I had just killed" and Ivypool says "wish you had what? Killed the impostor? Kill Shadowsight?" and Lionblaze all but CONFIRMS his wish to kill Shadowsight-a cat who is INNOCENT in all of this and just manipulated by ASHFUR. I....ugh.

Honestly, everyone sees Shadowsight as the victim here, but Lionblaze has a right to be mad. The cat that trapped him in a fire threatened to kill him and his siblings, which lead to him hearing the terrible truth about his parents, which later caused Hollyleaf to go into the tunnels. To find your leader sick later on and a ShadowClan medicine cat, none the less Tigerstar's son, to stuff him in the snow, causing his ultimate demise and bringing back a cat he hated and resented for trying to murder him. His loved ones were exiled, HE was exiled for what his PARENTS did (he had no control of that), and to find out his own kits left to become kittypets (I'm pretty sure they were his kits?), and later finding out who the imposter really was. He went through 5-6 leaderships in his lifetime, and who's fault was this all happened? Shadowsight. He has a right to be angry at Shadowsight, but Shadowsight also has innocence, so their both victims. That's all I gotta say, let me know what u think :P

Don't forget! Ashfur not only tried to kill him and his family before death. He also betrayed Lionblaze's trust as Ashfur was also his mentor. Mentors hold a sort of parental position in an apprentice's life. It's been seen how much influence mentors have on their charges and the amount of trust an apprentice can have in their mentor. Ashfur betrayed that trust then tried to kill his family then decided to continue to torment him and his family from the grave, possessing a father figure and violating that trust again before Lionblaze figured it out. Honestly, Ashfur is just a vile cat all around.

GOD, this ABSOLUTELY brings me back to the time when I was OBSESSED with The Broken Code. It's still one of my favorite arcs, if not only because of the comfort it brought me during some of the worst years in my life. This animation is one of the main ones I watched.

I find it funny because it seems like the Erin's are repeating events they did in another (better imo) series, Survivors. Storm was blamed for many deaths in her pack, which resulted in them locking her up in the secluded den, yadda yadda yadda.

This video is definitely very well made and still does apply to how Lionblaze has been acting, but considering the extent of what hes been saying, it doesnt hold as much ground as before. WOW ripley, this is incredible! I can't believe the length for one how on earth did you finish this monster?! But the story is really well illustrated- that was so tragic at the end with Shadow being imprisoned and his own dad leaving him in there :< I definitely have to get the newest book now to find out what happens after the events of your pmv haha!

I'm gonna be honest with you. I haven't read this far into the Warrior's series to know anything about this but this musical is one of my top favorite musicals to listen to. The way you delivered the scenes is amazing. You make it fit with the story of Razia's Shadow and I respect you for that.

I love this PMV and not just cuz of the song and characters. I love it cuz you, mobiusghost, you know how to express the intensity of a scene and your style is yet simple but yet so beautiful and expressive! Its amazing how a story from a book can be made as a visual scene that makes you fall in love with the story even more, and it matters of how the animator interprets it. Its a beautiful choice even how bad characters are in a book. The thing that matters to me in a PMV/AMV/animatic/animation etc... is how the beat goes and how the characters make the scene a lot more dramatic.I cant tell you how many times i have watched this video i love it! mobiusghost you did a really good job!

Gooossshhh I don't know what it is about this PMV, but I've watched it LITERALLY 15+ times now it's so good...... The song, the pacing, the SUBTLETY of the EXPRESSIONS, ohh it's amazing!! I can't get over the Sharp character designs and art, it's very brightly colored and distinctive, each character is recognizable at a glance yet they look so good in a crowd...and how is this mostly still drawings?? It feels so alive even though the frame-by-frame animation is so minimal. I love it!!! Especially those DANG expressions, I'll say it again because I'll never be sick of it...!! The tiny adjustments to their eyebrows, creases as they grimace or smile or snarl, changes in posture and the way they use their paws, oh man it's FANTASTIC!! The entire video really grips and holds on even though the song itself is more melancholic than energetic...gosh it's so good!!!!

The thumbnail made me a biiiiiiiit worried, but as soon as I heard the song start I _knew_ clicking this was the correct choice. Lionblaze taking a role similar to Toba's is an idea I really like, and this makes my not being caught up on Warriors even more of a tragedy. Guess I have to find the book I left off on again, eh?
