7:55 was amazing! what other weapons do you enjoy playing besides godaxe? I'm looking for another weapon to main and was looking for ideias of what might be fun
I'll be honest, I have no idea when was the last time I played something other than Switch Axe lol But Charge Blade is a lot of fun as well for example, or greatsword. Or if you want a really safe weapon to use longsword also is very satisfying with its counters.
Insect Glaive is my main weapon with Swaxe as an obvious #2. Although the playstyles are pretty different, they have a similar level of complexity, aggression, a high ceiling and that feeling of just bullying the hell out of a monster once you get the flow down. They also both have awesome fade slashes that feel badass to dodge with. IG is also next to Lance and LS as one of the safest but also most aggressive weapons since it can follow the more annoying flying monsters (Legiana/Shrieking, Azure Rath, Kushala, Paolumus etc) into the air but also dodge tons of monster attacks by vaulting, since most monsters are designed to primarily fight one of the other 13 weapons that are pretty much only used on the ground. I went from straight up bullying every Iceborne monster on my first run through it to actually struggling against them when I tried to use LS, Dualies, GS, Bow etc.. I beat Ruiner Nergi on my first run with no healing at all (besides Immunizer recovery) just by using IG. It's super powerful and super underrated, it can turn even pretty average-ish players like me into monster hunting gods lol. Hammer is also immensely fun. I enjoy it slightly more in Rise, but love to bring it to hunts in World when I know the monsters head will be an easy target. Mastering the charge moves is fulfilling as hell and makes the weapon feel so much better than the BONK x1000 memes lol. Not to mention KO damage is insanely powerful, and it's not nearly as punishingly immobile and animation lock-y as something like GS. Dual Blades are probably the easiest weapon to pick up and play. It's hard to do badly with them. Get max Marathon Runner, ideally Stamina Surge, grab the best elemental duals you can get for the monster you want to kill, hit R2 and spam every button until it dies lol. It's not hard to find out whether or not you like it since it's pretty darn simple, so worth giving it a try to see. SnS is the King of all trades. It does everything, and you can throw a couple (3 is my preference) levels of Guard on it to make blocking a legitimate strategy. It has insane peak DPS with timed Perfect Rush, it's super mobile, super easy to use items with, good with elemental or raw, has airborne attacks for mounting without a ledge, can do severing and blunt/KO damage, has a one hit tenderize move from its evade -> claw uppercut, and is pretty friendly to first time users. It does everything at a high level and only really has one weakness in its short range. Charge Blade can be tricky to learn, but if you want a longer-term project and a single weapon to focus on mastering, this one has the definite highest ceiling. Guard points, high DPS, multiple playstyles, tons of Phials + element combos, decent mobility, multiple different charges to keep up... It's not incredibly hard to be decent with, but it will take a long time to be really good with. There's entire websites written about the charge blade in World lol. Finally, Lance is the weapon I see the most people accidentally end up loving. No one ever considers it at first, but by some circumstance or another they end up using it and never putting it down. The level of constant aggression is unmatched, and you can make yourself effectively invincible with max Guard and Guard Up + a little bit of practice with counters. Only LS rivals the defensive/counter ability of Lance, and it's arguably much harder to balance with DPS output than Lance is. Something about it just feels badass, and it's one of the best 'flowing' weapons next to Swaxe and IG if you're into that kind of thing. Ultimately, all weapons are worth using, and it's probably worth watching a guide on their best combos and taking them all into training area + a couple easy hunts to get a feel for them in action and see what you like. Even though IG is my comfort weapon, I'll happily whip out SnS or Bow or GS for a few hunts just because I feel like it... At the end of the day, it's a game and you should do what you find the most fun.
1000 hours to absolutely body that alatreon. Will fatalis be your next victim? Btw your swaxe gameplay is some of the cleanest I've seen. I've decided to try out exhaust phials after watching your vids. It's fun and a change of pace from unga bunga power phials.

This video is like a reward after work. Btw I did beat fatalis. Got the 4 piece with alatreon arm alpha. Wondering something tho, you know those kjarr weapons are hard to get. Any tips on getting a swaxe on kt?
Thank you and very nice work! The kjarr weapons are annoying to get, that is true and there really is no crazy secret behind it... unfortunately. You just have to pray that you'll get them eventually but I think using a Switch Axe increases the chances or so.
@@Demirbaykus if you hold any swaxe when claiming rewards from kulve, you are guaranteed at least 1 swaxe from rewards. works with every weapon (same also applies for safi)
I have a full guide for Alatreon on my channel but I'd recommend Silver Rathalos or Safi with Kulve weapons. Silver Rathalos has true critical element which gives 50% more elemental damage on critical hits. And it has a high defense and decent slots.
