Hi Gwen, Love your painting. I was surprised to see you in a sling. Hope your healing journey is quick. I really enjoyed you explaining your thinking process as you worked on the painting. Have you thought of a name yet?
Hope you heal up quickly. Thank you for the tip with the blue cellophane! I usually do this by changing saturation on my phone but this is much quicker and easy to do while creating. Are you using a dark or light blue cellophane that you attached to a viewfinder you made?
Gwen… I have been so encouraged by you! I am a new artist and closely follow you because of your style. It seems to fit my personality. I want to let go and paint with passion. I have many miles to go … am So very amateur…. but I really have found such joy in painting. So often when I put any art out there I get so many opinions. I struggle with being my own artist. I am not sure I have figured out what my style is yet. I just know that working with colors simply sends me into a state of euphoria!!!! I can’t get enough. I know that I am not spending enough time painting. I have painted about 10 paintings (my first ever) .
Angie......what a great response from you.....I loved it!!! People will give you lots of advice but at this stage take workshops....online and in person if you can. Be selective about who you study with as you want to learn from the best. The most important question you can ask while painting is "What if".....what if I do this? What if I do that? Keep painting and you will grow extremely fast. Keep me informed about your progress....
I’m catching up on your videos with my arm in the sling. It’s exact same arm as yours. I had ulnar nerve surgery. I always look forward to your videos. I hope you are doing better.
Goodness ….this is SO beautiful /Gwen ……I DO have questions …..but how to define them ! ……I have enjoyed learning to “play” with art but struggle to pull together to a place that I can step back and go “yes!” ……is too rare ….therefore frustrating ….so I’d love more instruction with this . many thanks
Love it. what mediums do you like house with oils? Your first thin layer I am assuming a Gamsol like medium? but to blend the paint so nicely, while keeping it opaque like, what do you use? I have played with oil, solvent free gel and gambol and cold wax, but would like to venture more into oils. Thanks!
i love your work....this one is gorgeous. I moved to the AZ desert 3 years ago from Breckenridge CO...I miss CO a lot. What do you mean by "you have a hole" in the painting...I didn't see anything that needed changing. :)
It was the dark shape that I changed at the end. Stop the video just before the end and I think you will see what I mean. I changed the shape so it was no longer a hole.
