Explanation is good. But the video should be taken clearly. Camera is not stable. Please concentrate on it.

initially when finding the "path" you mentioned it as D4, D8 and Dm and later on also when finding the "distance" you mentioned it similarly, is it the same or different, please clarify

You are right sorry for the confusion. The notation for both are the same but both of them are different. Paths are acctually the way by which one pixel connects to other. It requies a set V and it has the options 1)d4 2)d8 3)dm As explained in the video. The distance measures on the other hand are pure distances between the 2 pixels which is explained in the start. It has options 1)d4 (cityblock distance) 2)d8 (chessboard distance) 3)de (euclidian distance)

Also, do you mean to say that - Path distance and Distance Measure are two different things? Is it the same in the case of Dm distance - and is there an equation associated with Dm distance?

It is quite easy You take 2 inputs as 2 matrices (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) these will be the pixel location , next take a variable use the formula and you get your answer

If v = {0,1,2} then you will be free to move any way you can calculate all the distances accordingly.
