So for people who bite their nails, the reason why it's REALLY bad (aside from that it can damage your teeth, hence Wade's comment that he chipped his) is because it can cause irritation that leads to inflammation and infections of your fingers. When my husband stopped biting his nails and started clipping them, he noticed that they didn't get raw, sensitive and painful like they'd been, and given he works in a labor-intensive field where he uses his hands a lot, that made a significant difference.
Probably what happened is the ramp crew really didn't run out of cargo space. There is an actual volume limit of luggage in the cargo bins in airline aircraft, and for good reasons. The limit is strictly to leave a gap of space to allow fire extinguishing agents to be able to spread among all the luggage in the cargo bin. If there was no gap of space, the agent would have difficulty quickly and efficiently doing its job and giving pilots time to land the aircraft safely and possibly evacuate once on the ground if fire is still present or a flare up occurs. As to putting bags in the cabin, there really isn't a rule, it just must fit in the storage locations intended for carry on luggage. Using the closet is perfectly fine, however Bob is correct they can sometimes have a design load limit for certain areas, like the closet. Usually the best option is to find carry on luggage that has been tagged to be put in the cargo bin that could be a borderline dimension of a carry on bag in the cabin. Honestly most gate agents just ball park the size and hand out the tags without closely examining its actual size. Do I think Bob was in danger? No. It happens. Not all the time, but it does happen. I'm surprised the captain wasn't really more engaging on finding the solution. Guess they were having a grumpy day? IDK.
The way mark explains the logic of the science of bad habits like with eating things makes sense. Like for example if I got a box full of cookies right next to me on my desk while gaming , you can bet it's empty at the end of the evening unless it would make me nauseous before hand. But if I put those same cookies away in my hallway food closet I wouldn't touch them most of the times. Allot of the reasons I won't but certain things at the grocery store is that I don't dosage while eating it if it's a really good guilty pleasure food. So yeah 100% agree with the play games , don't look at it etc would help get it out of your system. Me putting it away before hand in the closet gets it out of sight and mind. So too dosage I could take like 1-2 cookies out beforehand , then put it in the closet and go to my desk.
Either: A) A tabloid writer just trying to fill out space by thinking of anything that could be considered bad from a certain POV to keep people on the site for as long as possible. B) Some Christian fundamentalist that disproves of everything that “distracts from god” or deviates from their own cultural values (Masquerading it as religious belief).
@King_Minos64 I think they said it's an advertisement for Pavlock. They probably surveyed people on what they consider bad habits and then wrote them down without concern about order or validity of said habits.
