Distressed Woman Tells Cops "I'm Gonna Die," They Respond by Mocking Her 

People need to see the whole video. She literally dies in the police car on the way to the jail. She stops breathing. It is horrific. There needs to be some sort of justice for Lisa in regards to the hospital and to the cops who were abusing her.

Well, what did anyone expect? That they would actually protect and serve her????

File a lawsuit against the hospital and police

An 8th grader could have seen that this woman was having a medical problem. No criminal charges? What a joke!! No justice here. If the DA doesn't see anything criminal here, he is biased for the police dept.. Sickening!!

That was tough to watch. Whoever discharged her should be charged with manslaughter and the actions of the cops deserve instant dismissal for the condescending nature of their approach, which was disgusting.

I blame the hospital. The woman needed to be in the hands of carers, not a bunch of clueless cops who had the care skills, mannerisms and attitudes of trainee nightclub bouncers.

All the parties involved need to be prosecuted. The hospital that prematurely discharge her, the cops who mistreated her and lead to delay of treatment, the forensics department for that God-awful report, and the incompetent DA who refuse to press charges.

After this poor woman dies in the back of the police car one of the cops pulls her up by her hair. My guess, he’s intentionally inflicting pain on her dying body to get her to stop “pretending.” It’s truly sick to watch. They degrade her and are cruel even after she’s died.

This had me in tears! This is every day America, it's just not reported enough. These patriotic servants to the people are truly disgusting human beings that should never have power over people like this.

The worst part was when they dragged her into the back of the police cruiser. She was begging for her life for around 20 minutes, while the cop driving was telling her to shut up and to stop faking it then she went quiet. I haven’t witnessed cruelty on this level in awhile and I hope I never have to again, RIP Lisa!

My dad died of a stroke. He went to the hospital because he couldn’t swallow his heart medication. He couldn’t talk, he couldn’t walk well and the hospital said he just had tonsillitis and sent him home. My sister drove 4 hours from her house to his to drive him into a different hospital, once she saw him, she knew something wasn’t right. When they finally made it, he collapsed and that was it. This story brought me to tears. Imagine dying begging for help and no one cared. Just horrible

Poor Lisa. That was my first question: Why did they clear and discharge her?!? She was clearly in distress. Prayers for her family. RIP Lisa. I'm so sorry for the inhumane way you were treated.

Everybody involved in that scenario needs to be either arrested or sued. That poor poor woman knew something was wrong and nobody believed her. Not the hospital that she initially went to for help or the cops who are supposed to serve and protect. Everybody failed her. Her death is quite literally on their hands and is directly the result of their negligence. I can only assume that the hospitals performed no tests, but merely gave her a preliminary examination and chose not to perform any actual test that may have found the cause of her distress and ultimately saved her life, because monetarily it wasn't worth it to them. This is precisely why hospitals cannot be ran properly when they are for-profit. When money is the main driving force then quality-of-care goes right out the window. They treated this woman like garbage and they left her on the curb.

This is one of the most disgusting, disgraceful, disrespectful things I have ever seen in my life-the way they treated this poor woman has been haunting me ever since i saw it. Both of the hospitals that called the police and the police themselves are all disgusting as well! I really hope this family gets a good lawyer, because this behavior is unacceptable, and they all need to be held accountable and punished for what they’ve done to her. If this had happened in a nursing home or in a regular home, they would all be in jail right now for elder abuse. I can’t understand and am still in shock as to why the DA is not doing anything about this? That is also disgusting. It’s definitely not natural causes when you torture someone who is clearly disabled until they die! Shame on the hospital staff as well-they should’ve called the psych department, a social worker or her family to come and assist her if they thought she was being “problematic”, not call the police, especially after she refused to leave the hospital-why didn’t they get her mentally evaluated if she was discharged and “medically cleared” as they claim she was to figure out why she was refusing to leave, not have her thrown out onto the street by security and cast aside like that! Who calls the cops on an elderly person for trespassing AT A HOSPITAL?? SMH. So many things could’ve been done differently. I have a feeling that she didn’t have health insurance, or maybe it ran out of coverage or something, (that definitely needs to be investigated) and then the police just assumed that she was homeless, but that shouldn’t matter. When my brother went to the emergency room because of pain on his legs they sent him home without treatment. The next day he went to a different hospital. The doctor he saw treated him for collapsed veins in his leg. He was told that if he waited one more day amputation would've been necessary. Let that sink in. One. More. Day.

Registered Nurse here. There is DEFINITELY a callous culture in the ED. This is 100% a violation of EMTALA. It goes deeper, though. The reason is because our healthcare system in the United States can’t support enough staff, there are healthcare deserts all over the country, and because we don’t focus on preventative care whatsoever. If we had a universal, single payer healthcare system we could fix this.

I watched the full video and was appalled by the callus treatment of this poor woman, by the hospital for calling the cops to get her off the property...WTF!! And by the cops who treated her with such contempt. Talking about her cigarettes,and you don’t have an inhaler...you can hear them laughing about their own sick jokes. The video you didn’t see was the way they took her to jail. They couldn’t get her in the van, or he wouldn’t take her, so they laid her in the back seat of a friggin cop car and drove her there. You can hear her saying, “I’m gonna die” “I can’t breathe “ and then nothing.. They arrive at the cop shop and you see an officer open up the back door where her head was located, and pick her head up by her hair a couple of times,and not gently AT ALL. Then she stroked out and died. This was so friggin upsetting knowing that ALL these officers that are supposed to help, not harm human beings, of all colours, shapes and sizes, and they all treated her like a piece of trash. I personally think the hospital and ALL these poor excuses of humans get fired.....but nope. They of course investigated them selves ( corrupt DA ) and all gave themselves a pat on the back, and probably went for a friggin beer. I just hope their mother, grandmother or even their sister or daughter are never treated with such callousness and cruelty. Shame on all of you, poor excuses of the caring people you all took training to be.

As an Emergency Doctor working on a public health system in Brazil, I've cried a lot, specially watching the whole video, when they suddenly realized the old lady wasn't faking it... Cops messed it up, but most of the burden goes to the hospital staff and ultimately to the ailing health system the USA has... We struggle with lack of resources, lack of proper equipment, but we'd never discharge a patient so evidently in distress... I'm appalled, and after 18+ years as a healthcare professional, this is a high bar...

She had no one on her side, she must has known as she said I'm going to die. What terrible feeling. I even heard Police laughing. They lied to her. The hospital also was at fault. These cops say she has been medically cleared so nothing is wrong. That is the most rediculous shit. I personally watched doctors treat my wife like shit and refuse to treat her because the doctor thought she was lieing. When i then laid into the doctor and told him he was wrong and he needed to do something for my wife, he continued the dismissive attitude and said ok well if were gonna treat her then were going to do a full work up. My response was well weve been waiting 3 hrs for you to do something and you refused so yes do a full work up, thats why we came here in the first place. So after a few more hrs they figured out that my wife had an ovarian cyst that ruptured and her abdomen was full of puss and blood. So my wife had to suffer through that pain for hours longer than needed, and was actually refused treatment at first because the doctor thought she was faking. This is what looks like happened to that lady. Her doctors thought she was faking so they discharged her and the cops were probably told she was faking and they dont operate with compassion in the best of circumstances so they made the situation worse. Its a failure across the board at all levels. That is how people get treated all over this country, and its almost exclusively just the poor that get treated that way..

As soon as they arrested her they became responsible for her safety that is the law!
