Distressing a mason jar 

Thanks for showing and explaining in detail, with tips, etc how to paint and distress a glass mason jar.

This is the first time I've seen this method using black paint underneath. The distressing looks easier than using just the chalk paint. You mentioned the brand but I was wondering if they were also chalk paints. Thank you and I look forward to watching more of your videos.

Thanks Kelly for the demo on utube i wondered why my paint chipped never thought about using a black base. Yeah i found the 2oz size of clalk paint at Wal-Mart. I can't afford the chalk paint that Ann has. Just to darn expensive. I tried my first lantern using picture frames from dollar tree and I messed it up. So glad it only cost 4 dollars but I'm going to do it again and I know where my mistakes were. Keep on crafting and giving great utube videos. Debbie

Love how she calls all the canning jars "mason" jars 😄 Kerr, Ball, and Mason are all brand names of canning jars. Like we call all tissues Kleenex etc. So fun!!

I think a natural color burlap would look beautiful on the antique white lace painted jar. Maybey some lace ribbon on the burlap, or maybe some antique white ric rak trim? Just a vision I had. Otherwise I think you do a beautiful job. Thanks again for sharing.

Kelly, I’m having the chalk paint base peel of while painting on the color of my choice. I’m using both of the same chalk paint and Valspar samples you have. I’ve even let the base sit for 24 hours before adding the top coat. Any suggestions?
