He was SO sick and weak before this performance that they gave him a stool to sit and support him. He refused to cancel and knocked it out of the park. That's dedication to his craft and his fans.

David Draiman... A powerful voice that can go from warm baritone to angelic tenor, from clear as a crystal to rasp/distortion/vocal fry and back , which goes straight through you to your very soul! He has a timbre in his voice that I've never heard before........just hauntingly beautiful. An awesome talent. Loved your reaction and your take on the performance Mrs PenPal.....

A lot of people that watches the live version doesn't realize he was very sick with the flu. That's why he was sitting. He said he was too weak to stand. He was also trained that's why his voice is so awesome

He had the flu during this performance too believe it or not. Now that is saying something; because his voice still sounded good! If you pay attention closely you can kinda tell he was a bit sick! "He saw, he came, he conquered" even with a flu lol!!! But, for future reference the phrase is actually "He came, he saw, he conquered!" IMHO It really doesn't matter lol. It still means the same thing!

Good reaction. This is an epic performance. David has a high level of professionalism and years of experience. He also was trained as a Hazzan (Jewish Cantor) which I think allows him to connect with the spiritual aspects of the song to induce an emotional reaction in the listener.

Great cover reaction. To me Simon and Garfunkel the original writers and performers were telling us back in the 60’s when I first heard the song to get our shit together or the future won’t be pretty and David’s version is saying oh well the shit has now hit the fan!!!!! He was not pleased with his singing, he had a fever and did not feel good. WHAT AN EXCELLENT JOB!! David, you are the best! I’ve heard probably all of the songs of The Sound of Silence, when I first heard the one on Conan, I thought it was the best. Not too many Artists can sing live and come even close to your vocals.

I just found this song in July 2023. Fantastic sound. I just can't play it enough. I have watched lots of reaction videos and watched the live performances. I am 78 and I remember the first song in 1964. This is just totally the perfect and necessary version for this time NOW. Amazing cover for this Disturbed Band.

Such a nice reaction video! There are not more than a handful of people on earth who can touch David vocally. With his unique way of controlled yelling ("and the people bowed and PRAYED"), he has a capacity to bring something to any song that almost nobody else does. Beautiful, glad you enjoyed. : )

Some folks will not like this statement but I believe this version fits the song much better than the original. Plus Simon did give huge props and support to the band and the lead singer on the entire arrangement of the song. Still gives me chills every time I listen to it

Oh really? People will find a reason to dislike something. Many versions of a song brings great variety. I am happy to have encountered Disturbed version. It’s great to hear Simon supports as well.
