The BOSS GX100 has some great features that make it easy to integrate into an amp with 2 channels. My Marshall DSL 20 gets a nice little workout with the added gain and boosting options hitting either of the channels. Let's look at how to dial this in for your GX100.
Contents:
00:00 - 01:59 Intro and setup run through
02:00 - 03:00 TRS or TS/What does your amp need?
03:01 - 04:30 Adding the CTL 3/4 switch with TRS cable
04:31 - 05:25 Bluetooth can do this, buuuuut....
05:26 - 07:00 How to set for default CTL 3/4 to AMP CTL 1/2
07:01 - 07:15 SYSTEM or MEMORY?
07:16 - 08:53 Assignment settings for AMP CTL
08:54 - 09:50 CNUM as Channel Switch
09:51 - 10:52 SAVE!!!
10:53 - 13:30 Amp State Saves within the patches
13:31 - 17:47 Select a different Button for your Channel Switch with Assignments
17:48 - 19:52 Advanced, single button push moves for Channel Switching and multiple effect changes
19:53 - 21:57 Master Section for options, as well. Don't miss this step!!
21:58 - 24:26 Final considerations and thoughts.

Thank you for making these videos. I have an orange amp that I like, but I also like a bunch of effects from the GX. This video is going to help me get my clean/dirty toggle worked out and use a div block to go pretty much direct to the amp's natural dirty sound.

I hope it helps you out and I love my Orange Rocker 32. Which reminds me, I haven’t tried this with that yet. So now I have a new gear goal. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Can you give us your take on how the EXP1 Switch works and functions. Maybe to control the solo switch on Overdrives and Distortions? Your tutorial is easy to understand, Sir. Great video...

This is a great, helpful video! Thank you! BTW - do you have any experience with running dual amps with the GX-100 whereby 1 amp is simulated/modeled via the GX-100 and the 2nd amp is your existing tube amp? If so, what does the effects / signal chain look like?

Hey man, thank you and I’m glad it helped. I have not tried that, and it actually sounds brilliant. I would run it the way I set it up in my 4CM video, and set the send/return block in a parallel path, the other path having the amp in it. You wouldn’t be able to get strictly an IR only selected in the amp section, but a super clean amp with medium gain settings and adjusted level to match the GX amp, I bet you would work well for that.

Great, thanks for posting this, it's a big help. Question: Can I use a Midi signal (My JVM has midi control) to do the same per patch? JVM has even more options, Reverb on off, Loop, Master 1 , Master 2, etc. If I could set the amp how I like then save it to Midi ctrl per patch that would be outstanding...
@DoubleDguitar
@DoubleDguitar 6 месяцев назад
I am 99% certain you can, it will come down to making sure your cc#s and such match, and you are using the right midi channel for the amp to receive. Get on the facebook group, I am pretty sure people there are using that amp.

I have a JVM 410c and also the GX-100. So my question would be as follows... With a preset that I intend to use with the OD1 channel, how can I switch to a second preset that I intend to use with the clean channel and having it immediately switch to the clean channel once I change it to that preset without having to step on another button that is set to turn on the clean channel on my amp? Btw, great content. I'll like your videos and follow you man 💪 keep it up!

Hey man, thank you! I appreciate it. The best way to do this would be follow the instructions to set up the switch, then save a preset with the switch set to clean. Hit the switch and save it at the next preset, this will save the state of the amp and keep everything else the same. Hope that helps.

Hi, i'm gonna ask you a question. But first of all, just thank you very much for your video! Now, if i'd create two different channels on the gx, can i let them play separately through outputs? For example, i'd want a channel A with a list of effects, and a channel B with others including a looper. Then, let them play together too. Is It possible? Have a great day and rock on 🤟🏼
@DoubleDguitar
@DoubleDguitar 10 месяцев назад
This is doable, I am just running out for the morning and am planning on a stream with the gx to talk about how we all can do stuff like this. For now, if you are on FB, check with the users group and you will get a quick answer on how to set it up. I am glad you dug this video!🤘🏻

Is it possible to also changing the voicings , like in the dsl40?
@DoubleDguitar
@DoubleDguitar 7 месяцев назад
If the voicing switch is controlled by a remote switch, then it should be. My small dsl doesn’t have that option, only from the front panel.

Is there a way to control an amp with 3 channels? I own a marshall triple super lead and i don't know if it is posible
@DoubleDguitar
@DoubleDguitar Год назад
I am not sure about that, it would depend on the input for the channel control. If it is trs, and only 2 buttons, then it will be simple. 3 or more, you will need some different method.

Can you please explain how to set the polarity of the AMP CONTROL per patch, please?
@DoubleDguitar
@DoubleDguitar 6 месяцев назад
What are you trying to achieve? Polarity is kind of a set it once and let it be thing.
@ArcaneJarek
@ArcaneJarek 6 месяцев назад
@@DoubleDguitar No not exactly. For example you want Patch 1 to bring up the clean channel on the amp and Patch 2 to switch to the crunch chanel on the amp. I know it's possible, I just can't find it where it is in settings. The whole purpose of AMP CNTL is to switch between chanels on the 2 chanel amp. How do I do that?
@DoubleDguitar
@DoubleDguitar 6 месяцев назад
@@ArcaneJarek I get that, I mean polarity is something of a set and forget. At 5:30 I go into the menu to make the changes.
@ArcaneJarek
@ArcaneJarek 6 месяцев назад
@@DoubleDguitar I'm not sure you understood my question but I found my answer. You go to the effect chain, find the MSTR block at the end. Enter that, go to second page. AMP CTRL jack polarity (or on/off) is at the bottom left.
@DoubleDguitar
@DoubleDguitar 6 месяцев назад
@@ArcaneJarek ah I gotch, I am sorry I didn’t understand. I’m glad you got it sorted.
