My oldest will be 13 this summer and I feel like childhood could never be long enough for me, even having spent almost every day of it together. 😭 So thankful for the gift of homeschooling. ❤️

We do most of our core subjects online. I bought courses on her level. We also have some traditional style lessons with hands on experiments and lessons. My 8 year old is ADHD, has anxiety and is high functioning autistic. Some days she is over stimulated and we cut it short and start again the next morning. Some days she wants to do a little more in a certain subject, so we go with that. On occupational therapy days, some of her lessons are incorporated with her therapy, so that helps on the subjects she doesn't like or needs more attention in.

Oh I teared up when you were with your oldest. My oldest turns 6 tomorrow. She crawled in my bed earlier this afternoon to chat and cuddle. Couldn’t help but think how fast the years are going. I’m cherishing homeschooling and being with my kids for as long as can. 💕

Children growing up is so hard Ashlee! We have three boys that are married ( and we're grandparents to four!), and daughter who is a senior, and a ten year old son at home in the fifth grade. It's so bittersweet. So thankful we've been able to homeschool to have more days to cherish. :)

It's always interesting to me to see homeschool moms with older kids and how you organize your day. Mine are in kindergarten and first grade and sometimes it's hard for me to imagine continuing to homeschool as they get to middle school & high school!

Loved this video!! DITL videos are the best! I can totes relate to the sadness of kids aging and missing them before they’re gone! I love being with my babies everyday! My oldest turned 7 this past weekend and I was so sad because I feel like 7 really is the end of being a little kid 💕

My oldest will be 16 May 5th. Weve homeschooled for 8 years and I still get teary when I think of her possibly leaving soon even after being with her everyday. Yes, moms to littles, savor those years. ❤❤❤

Thank you for the baked taco recipe! I'm always looking for new, easy, healthy family meals and I ve never known how to seve tacos to the whole family all at once....I have a 2 and 6 year old and we r usually up making tacos, then sitting down to eat at different times. I ll like this idea to get them all on the table at the same time. I also appreciate your sharing your mama lunch ideas. I need those too!

Been a homeschooling Mama for the last 13 years. I totally get it💔every single day that we spend with them is a gift but it's never enough time. Graduated one who is now out of the nest and married. I still have 2 at home and it never gets easier as they get older💙💙💙

It is so so hard. I cry too. I have one in college and it's like a hole in the family when his spot is missing from our morning time. All the feels!!!! Looks like you love your kids well. It's about relationship. 🥰 I feel once.they hit 14 it just flies by 😱 Happy Resurrection Sunday.

I totally get what you’re saying about your daughter getting older. I’ve been trying to change my thinking from grieving to joy. My oldest is 15. It’s hard when I think that we really only have 3 more years of him at home. But lately I’ve been finding myself staring at him when he doesn’t realize. I notice how his jaw is getting stronger and more defined. How his face is just changing from a boy into a man. I marvel and the change of his voice. All of this causes my heart to rejoice and praise God for his creativity and hand in making my boy into a man. It’s hard to think about but completely amazing to witness. 🤍🤍Blessing to you!

My oldest will turn 10 in a few months. I've been in tears several times. So proud of the young lady she has become, yet can't believe how fast time has gone by. Like where did that bundle of a baby go?! We've always homeschooled and will continue to do so. I feel very lucky for the opportunity and to spend so much time with my kiddos. My mom always regretted going back to work, even when my dad pleaded with her to continue being a stay at home mom. I don't want any regrets like that. Not that she did something wrong, she did what she thought was for the best at the time.

Computers can be a valuable tool for learning. They are a bit like a hammer in your handyman tool collection. Some jobs need a hammer. But we don't use a hammer for all tasks. So computers have their place and there is no shame in using them.

I'm thinking the nighttime zookeeper would be great for summer break so that I can keep my boys mind working while we take summer break. My oldest is turning 13 years old, and ai found myself down for the same reason, it's all going by so fast. 💔 But one thing I keep telling myself, is that we spend so much time talking and being with them because we homeschool, and I'm so thankful for that.

That you SO much!!! My daughter only has 1.5 weeks of TGTB level 2 but we have 19 weeks of school left. Just today I was searching for something that will help my 7 year old with writing 🙌🙌. She's an advanced reader but we need help with writing and handwriting so this will help be a great filler!

My oldest just turned 11 in March so I'm really feeling what you're talking about how it goes so fast :( my main reason when I started homeschooling 3 years ago was because I couldn't handle her being away from me nearly all day 5 days/week. Breaks my heart when moms celebrate their kids going back to school.

So what advice would you give a new homeschool mom that has finally found her way (kinda) and wants to “start over” in a sense? What if we won’t be done with our module or level book in time? Do we stop at the end of our school and finish later?

You are so lucky you can go days without washing. By the time it's been 22 hours since I showered my hair looks so greasy! I tried washing with salt, not conditioning, etc.....I really don't know why. My mom and grandma are the same way.
