This is a complete lesson and tutorial for the U-He Diva synthesizer which goes over how to get the envelopes to have a faster and more aggressive sound quality. Sometimes when doing basslines, synth pitched sounds, drums, etc, it can be helpful to have faster envelope shapes which are more exponential.

This works on hardware too. You modulate the envelope attack/decay and release stages by another envelope. Actually it's the only way to get rid of that stale linear envelope the Dave Smith insisted on using on every one of his synths. Can kind of emulate exponential or logarithmic shapes this way. But it's a guessing game in hardware. How much to modulate etc. Good tip for Diva though. Thanks.

Lol I forgot to change the skin to the regular red one for the tutorial, now you know which one I'm always using, its a bit clearer on the eyes haha :D

awesome tip, thank you! I bought DIVA just yesterday. been using Serum for the last two years and my main thought after playing around for the first day was: sounds good, but how do I get the envelopes more snappy?

The preset is named Jupe6 but the preset has 8 voices, why?

Massive doesnt really sound like a retro analog synth imo.. its another thing like serum.. there are many huge sounding agressive but digital sounding vsts out there for a long time

it actually affects attack, decay, and release portions not just the decay

@@produktaudio Agreed but sorry bro, that's not my point. im referring to your diagram. If you set the envelope the way your diagrams depict you'll have a slow attack and loose that lovely tight powerful pluck. Anyway keep up the content as I learned something new last night. Thank you.

@@Mclennnan right the attack may have a slower onset too.. its just exponential.. i think thought its self evident that if you put a slower attack time you will have no pluck.. but i had to show the attack also in the diagram to explain fully how the math works on every portion of the envelope.. the diagram isnt intended to be the settings . Its for explanation

@@Mclennnan i think its arguable if a more exponential attack is itself more agressive.. i think it depends how you use it.. it can deliver some good rising effects
