Though the Divco U-Series “Bullnose” van is better known, the Divco Dividend van offered advanced forward control seating and even more capacity. In this video Steve explores a burly six-wheel Divco Dividend 5-ton van. And is that Rudolph Dieselhead?

That van is pretty rare. I've never seen any other DIVCO other than the iconic milk trucks back in the day. In the 70's to early 80's we got milk delivered by both Brock-Hall Dairy, and Sealtest in those. Then they disappeared

My uncles band got ahold of a six wheeler from pet milk in St. Louis. Converted it to a camper and pulled an old national enclosed trailer for their equipment. It looked good and they went all over the country with it. I’d love to have one myself

That deerhead is getting around. Steve must have watched Captain Q with his stuffed "Sea dog" That shows up every episode along with a can of Dinty Moore and a bottle of wine. There was (and maybe still is) a Divco snub nose parked alongside M53 on the way up to Marlette Mi I think it is just being used as a storage shed but I always thought it would make a good budget RV if somebody had the time and cash to put into it.

My uncle's beer distributor business repurposed 2 Divco stub nose milk trucks with beer taps out the sides, and we'd load it full of Old Milwaukee kegs and haul them to the parties. They were tanks. I now wish I'd have taken pictures of the motors, drivetrains, etc., of the delivery trucks we used. A single master cylinder brake system International 10 bay pallet truck that figured in some hair raising rides. A GMC pallet truck with, I believe, had a V6, that a Junkyard Crawl episode enlightened me about. Thanks Steve, for crawling the junkyards and sharing your knowledge. Get well soon.

Steve you are so right, they used them for just about anything. I remember all of the usual things, milk men, and newspapers. But my neighbor when I was a kid, had 10 kids, and there was a guy that brought them clean diapers, and hauled away the dirty ones. The smell on a hot summer day ranked right up there with the garbage trucks.

Hello sandy man (Mister Sand Man?). If you think the deer head (we call it Rudolph Dieselhead) is creepy, you should see the rest of the creature roaming around the yard late at night, under a full moon. I'm thinking about setting up a series of night vision cameras to capture proof. OK, I'm watching way too much Ghost Hunters and that kind of goofy cable TV. The fact is, Rudolph Dieselhead is kind of shy and so doesn't want to be in every video. Just a few.... THANKS for watching and writing, Steve Magnante

the sad thing about most work / delivery vehicles is they usually got parked because they were "well worn" or in the case of milk trucks, the bottoms were rotted out due to hauling wet product (and ice?) for years. Any project with serious rust in structural areas is bound to be a money pit on restoration.
