For non hikers like myself this trail is fairly easy but long and exhausting which makes you earn the view. This is one of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever seen well worth it!

Agreed! My advice to those in a similar boat would be to come prepared. If you can outlast the trail by having enough food, water, sunscreen, etc then this is one most people can get to the end of

Very helpful video, traveling to Glacier in mid June, hoping to complete iceberg lake hike. Q? Were are scheduling hike June 18th, and taking first boat across McDonald lake to trailhead. Is that the best way to get started?

Iceberg Lake is on the Many Glacier side of the park (opposite of Lake McDonald). The trailhead starts behind the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn. You should be able to punch that into your gps and find parking either at the Inn or nearby to access the Iceberg Lake trailhead

When do you think is the best time to go there when the water is the most Aqua/Turquoise?
@travelwithwes

The water color will be most sensitive to sunlight - so going in the middle of the afternoon when the sun is high and hitting the water would be ideal if you're after that color. The footage in the video was taken in late July for reference, but some years the lake thaws sooner. Hope that helps!

If I come from Two Medicine Campground, do I need Many Glacier entry pass to hike to Iceberg lake?
@travelwithwes
@travelwithwes Год назад
Your campground reservation will only get you into the Two Medicine area, it won’t get you into Many Glacier. Reservations are required from July 1 - September 10, 6 am to 3 pm during 2023 for Many Glacier. You’ll either need to grab a reservation when they release more closer to your travel date, or enter outside the 6am - 3pm window. Hope that helps!

Is it difficult to get reservations ?
@travelwithwes
@travelwithwes Год назад
They typically sell out pretty quickly, especially for the heart of summer season. If the date you’re targeting is already sold out, more passes will be made available closer to that date. Check out the link below for current season timed entry rules. Just be mindful that these last minute slots often sell out in the first 5 minutes of being made available. You’ll need to be online to grab one at the exact time they open up to have a chance at snagging one! www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/vehicle-reservations.htm Here’s a link to my guide providing tips on how to use the time entry system or hacks to get around it if you can’t secure a pass: www.workremotelyliveremotely.com/post/how-does-the-national-park-timed-entry-system-work
