“Off brand Seiko movement” The Seiko NH35A is literally a Seiko movement dog. Also if anything it’s a “homage watch” if you don’t wanna consider it invictas own watch.
@@williamwallace9427 Stupid!!! These days many famous watch brands Davosa, Mathey-Tissot, Longines all make homage rolex submarine watches ... do you think it's cheap?
So it 100% is not Invictas own watch. It's is clearly designed to resemble an older gen submariner. Same size, shape, same dial, indices and hands. Then there's the movement. Which is not a Seiko, it is produced by Seiko yes but it is labeled as an nh movement and is not covered by any Seiko warranty or customer service. I used the term knockoff and homage interchangeabley and have several watches designed to resemble much more expensive ones. I'm not insulting anyone, I'm simply stating the obvious about the watch.
I dove with the Invicta Pro Diver in the Bahamas. It's not ISO cert but the waterproof/resistance is legit. Cannot say that for the Seiko on his wrist though.
I have a c2008 Invicta diver, Miyota movement. It's so old I'm not sure when I bought it. I've done every normal thing with it without regard to shock or force - gardening, golfing, swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding... whatever. Last year I ran it through my washing machine (along with some Casio's) to make sure it was still reliable for a beach trip. Short cycle, cold water, but still... No problem. Never serviced, it keeps about 15 secs / per day. Tank.
My Invicta pro diver did extremely well I beat on it for over a year working on injection molding machines it got soaked in hydraulic fluid and grease. I did replace the bracelet with a nato strap because it was garbage the one thing that killed it was dropping it about 8 foot off the ground on a rough unfinished concrete floor. It broke the crystal and the hour hand came loose but it still runs. Well worth the money.
That’s still technically repairable. I am watchmaker located in Texas and the crystal cost me about $20 and then just checking the movement would be another $10, replacing the hour hand would be free of charge.
this is exactly what i needed. my heart dropped when my tinex harborside coast dropped and thankfully there doesnt seem to be any damage from what i can see
Very true, I love my seikos, I was referring to the fact that when seiko sells movements to other brands it labels them as NH movements and they are not branded as seiko movements, it is indeed a seiko 4r36 movement just unbranded. Sorry for the confusing way I said that haha.
I wonder if the results of the final test would have been different had the case back been stainless steel. I think exhibition case backs are cool but never on a dive watch. All serious dive watches have solid case backs because the crystal on an exhibition is not as resistant to pressure as a solid case back. Look at any PADI or ISO dive watch and you’ll never find an exhibition case back. This is another example of Invicta sacrificing functionality and practicality for “style.”
I think it's also about price with Invicta, mineral crystal or plastic case back would be cheaper than stainless. Plus how else are they Gunna show off the yellow painted Seiko movement lol
I have an oris that is 300 m waterproof/water resistant that has an exhibition case back. They are fantastic but that is definitely the weak point is possible cracking due to a drop. And when it does actually break, you automatically have to serve us to watch due to the shards being in the movement.
@@GuardianMT i hoped mine would arrive without the yellow rotor like its the case when they arnt in stock. some people are lucky lukes and lucky dudes and get the invicta without this ugly sin. seiko movement in this watch isnt something to show of anyways it wasnt build for open casebacks its an ugly bastato
I have the 9094 OB which looks like this watch. I have to say I am more than happy with mine. As long as the price stays under $100 U.S., it is not a bad watch at all.
That's exactly what I did to my 29178 (42mm size 8926ob/8926obxl). I installed Seiko SKX jumbo springbars and installed a Watch Candy brand bond nato (black olive and red) strap. I get so many compliments on it. 😂😉
I would have rather seen you drop it on cement from a height of 6 feet and gently thrown it against a stucco wall, than seeing you throw it in a soft blanket of snow. Really didn't prove anything about the watches toughness. Even driving over it with a glass back. NO see thru glass back would survive a truck running over it. Truly not a toughness test IMO.
I thought it was a funny test. I do disagree on one point, even a solid case back would have failed. If the glass has any dome or arch to it it will fail an external physical pressure test. The glass whether mineral, sapphire or otherwise just isn't built for 5700lbs of flat pressure.
If you’re being ran over by a car you have bigger problems than whether your watch works, Also, a Rolex would DEFINITELY survive that. Especially a sea dweller or Deepsea.
@@ryanrabe7184 it’s not even a question. The Deepsea can withstand what? A few tons of psi? That car weighs a few tons to being with, divided by four, and then it exerts even less than that because the Deepsea takes up a small amount of the tire, which is flexible.
I loved mine. It got ripped of my wrist and a freak accident where my arm was pinned between my truck and a gate post,y arm was snapped in half and the watch was destroyed.
saludos It was cool to watch the torture and thinking of buying a pro diver ( If the backplate was stainless steel it would have survived ) but the tests are not realistic to a watch ....peace
I will begin wearing my beautiful Invicta pro every day. Might even expose it to sawdust then wash it afterwards. I do however believe most watches will fail when using a sandblaster without gloves. (not advised)
I caught an edge while snowboarding and all of my momentum (I was going fast) directed me into the floor. I was wearing my invicta then, and it still keeps good time.
It's it's a very tough watch I have it for the price it's unbeatable of course if you do all that stuff if it won't last long but every day stuff it'll last a lifetime I went swimming hiking everything basic stuff everyday and it's works just perfect just as good as my Seiko skx
I have had a pro diver for 2 years. I dive surf and have never had any issues with this watch. And yes I've had a Rolex submariner since 1989.Is it comparable to my sub yes.It doesn't say Rolex but it has been a great watch when I want to wear a beater. With the Seiko movement it's within 2 seconds of my Rolex a day which is better accuracy than my old Rolex air guide. That was the craziest review I've ever seen about that watch. But up to the point of it being run over by his truck the watch it was still keeping good time. Hey man try a casio g shock run it over with your truck that would cool
I agree. I had a pro diver a few years ago. Excellent bang for the buck. I beat the Hell out of it. River rafting, snorkeling ocean swimming. No worries. The bracelet wasn't that great, but I always put speidel twist o flexes on my watches for an old school look...
I'm still laughing about it being "punted" LMFAO ..... now Victorinox did a test like this on their INOX line.. supposedly a Tank ran over it and no issues, but it wasn't a RAM!
Haha I did a similar test that involves snapping my arm in half between a truck and a gate post, the watch sadly did not survive. But I bought a new one in green and like it way to much to destroy.
Oooh..98 subs!..nearly @ 100🐣🐣 You one of them sub's collectors? lol..doubt it somehow Thanks for this vid tho..thinking of getting one of these as a beater.. You're the ONLY real torture tester!
I actually loved the watch, I got it as an open box special for super cheap and wanted to see how much outright abuse it could take just to make a video.
@@GuardianMT I got 12 watches, six of them is way more expensive than the pro diver. But believe it or not, this watch is my pride and joy. I m wearing it, this very moment 😊😊😊
IF YOU REPLACE THE DISPLAY BACK WITH A SOLID METAL ONE IT WOULD HAVE SURVIVED BEING RUN OVER BY A MACK TRUCK, BUT THAT SHOULD BE THE LEAST OF YOUR WORRIES IF YOU EVER GET RUN OVER BY A MOTOR VEHICLE.
Thank you for clarifying your comment was asinine, knowing before reading the rest of your statement was helpful. Kindly send me a 10k watch and I'll be sure to test it accordingly. Thx.
Unfortunately my seiko was destroyed in an accident that broke my arm as well, the watch was destroyed as it was forcibly removed from my wrist and lost.
Who are you talking to? You said "this guy" like people are listening?? Dude no body watched this video and even fewer see your comments. Make better use of your time like watching a real RU-vidr, not hating on some amateur like me.
You're wrong.....the weakest point of the pro diver was a simple mineral glass crystal that allowed damage to the inside of the watch because it broke.....hardly a test of the seiko's ability to stand up to the weight of a dodge ram p/u running over it. Had it a metal case back it might have still worked.
@@GuardianMT one month on a mug in freezer on ice..... test with inertia hammer are test nice to look !!! ...etc etc but ’not launch it in a dirty street !!
@@GuardianMT test of freezer for long time is really nice ... because all my friends want look that .. test muzt be to in a laboratory.... or a kitchen... or in nature far of towns !! looooool never in street
I don't even want to scratch my invictas. And this watch took being run over twice and still looked basically the same. A hydromax invicta is beefier, the thickest watch they make by far. Try that.
