i have a 2016 ford mustang ecoboost & have been trying to research on what will sound best, along with what will work best for my turbo without tunes & heavy labor
@@BorgWarnerKP39 I haven’t done anything to it yet. I have been thinking of the spacer. I’ve seen a few videos where it was venting under throttle though.
@@Todcd What do you mean with venting? finally just installed mine today and i think i lost like 2 psi overall and on overboost (Now turbo loads to 15.5 psi aprox, almost the normal 16, and the main problem is on overboost with 17.5 psi aprox instead of the 19 psi of the overboost, and im hearing like a whine just in higher gears (overboost) (the air whine its a cool one tho lol, not so loud but still audible)
@@BorgWarnerKP39 like instead of blowing off of the the throttle, you could hear the excess pressure blowing off while on the throttle. It has kinda scared me from getting a spacer.
I can't speak for how every engine handles it, but I know that engines that come with diverter generally calculate their fueling to account for the diverted air coming in post MAF. So it would run rich since that air is now vented. VW based engines struggle with blow off valves unless tuned properly. Let me know if I can answer more questions:)
I’ve always heard that you can’t get turbo flutter if you have a BOV, however I’ve seen so many cars with turbo flutter that run BOVs. Can someone explain why turbo flutter is still possible with a BOV? I mean the air should just be vented to the outside, not backwards through the turbo or am I wrong?
I would assume it was because of using dual-port BOV? Where part of the boost air gets vented into the atmosphere (whoosh) and part was recirculated back into the intake (flutter). I guess dual-port BOV does both the blow-off and recirculation so it makes both the DV flutter and BOV whoosh noise. But since dual-port BOV is still called BOV, it could be quite confusing when there's flutter noise from a "BOV" without knowing what kind of BOV it is... 2:34 of the video explained this dual-port recirculating BOV. That is all my guess tho. I would also like to know what is the actual reason for BOV making flutter noises, and yes anyone who knows more please correct me.
