My older regulator set up aged out and needed to be replaced. I decided to change to a LHPD configuration. I've used it a half dozen times, but discovered it's not as simple to inflate my smb. Is there a better way than switching to the secondary regulator on the short hose to ascend?
No, it doesn't need WiFi or anything. You'll need to download the app to your phone but, then it's down to Bluetooth. It would be nice if it had a little LCD screen on it so you don't need your phone just like most other analyzers out there.
Is a nitrox analyzer the only tool available to check the quality of air in a tank? I ask because when I travel, sometimes I dive with some sketchy scuba operators.
You can buy personal air filters. They screw into the cylinder valve when filling as an extra final filter right before the gas enters the cylinder. But if the contaminants are already in the cylinder that you're renting there's not much you can do. Analysers such as this DNA, will only tell you the Oxygen percentage of the gas mix. The only way to test the gas would be something like a set of dräger tubes. It's a bit extreme but, if you're worried about air quality you can determine if there are any dangerous contaminants.
