I'm only 4 minutes into this video and it has already blown my mind with the detailed understanding of how presets actually work! Well done!!!! I'm so grateful for this incredibly useful and easy-to-follow video training.
😂😂 crazy to think I have been using divi for years and never new this bit , thank you , now instead of rolling my eyes at the start of a new project I can enjoy the process again
Thank you. A really powerful feature of Divi but one that is poorly understood by many users - not least because it is not super-intuitive. Not a bad thing as this lets me make tutorials! 😀
@@divicoaching I have subscribed and currently watching all your videos . I have been using divi for years and absolutely love it , but just a few things were bugging me but you have solved them all 👍👍
@@divicoaching One thing I'm still researching (being a newbie) is setting a size of images. Some images I have are large and others small. You may have already done a video on this. Also on using a CSS script and placing on my supporter's page site. Just looking to make the content look uniform. Also working on a photo slider and wanting to set images uniform.
I just found this tutorial and DANG I wish I had seen it a month ago! Just redesigned a whole site for a client and using pre-sets for buttons and some other modules would have saved me SO MUCH TIME! Using library elements is convenient but this will make things go even faster. Thank you so much for your clear explanations and examples.
Oh thank you, I am so glad you think so! It seemed like such hard work to explain what is actually quite a straightforward principle once you understand it. They have not made it particularly intuitive.
Thank you. Glad it was helpful! It was not the easiest of concepts to get across but I use presets now all the time and haven't used a Global Module for months.
Thank you Cindy. Really glad you found this helpful. This was a bit of a tricky one as the way the 'presets' have been implemented is not quite as intuitive as it could have been and there is plenty of scope for confusion, especially with 'defaults'. Thank you again. Paul (Divi Coaching)
Great intro to Presets - really helped me get started with something I hadn't tackled yet (I'm pretty new to Divi). I haven't been able to find the follow up video that you mentioned at the end. Where can I find it?
Oops. That'll be because it's still on my 'to do' list. Thanks for the encouragement to go back and see what I was going to do as a follow up! Thanks for your support..
Great! I personally am working on setting up a well thought out naming strategy for presets now. I didn't start with a concept and that showed quickly. Also the question came up, how I can transfer my "new preset framework" to a different site. Is portability an option?
Thanks Jacob. There's more I want to do on presets but it really is vital to understand how the 'default' works or you can quickly lose track and I didn't want the tutorial to run any longer!
So, I imagine you have a shitload of presets, for all sorts of elements? Or is there a way to implement one time without selecting the presets every single time with every new element you put in?
You do need a preset for each type of element (but most designs only use 5-6 so not too arduous). You can then set the preset as the default for that type of element (see in the vid) and each instance of that element you add will have the preset applied already by default. Hope that is what you meant?
Mind reader. 🥸 For the last couple of days, I've been working on a site where I kept changing the button settings every time I used that style of button. Which was often. I thought there had to be a better way and VOILA! I came across your video and learned something new! Thanks for putting this out there.
