Thank you. Beware though that although I made this ages ago when global colours were new, there are still some issues with them, especially in presets. Check as you go!
I only recently started a solo web design business for myself and although I have been using Divi for the past few years for personal projects, this is this first time I finally made myself look into using presets which your other videos brought me to your channel - and until now I hadn't even fully clocked there was a Global colour option let alone how or why to use it. So very well explained and demonstrated! Countless other RU-vid channels haven't mentioned this oddly. So thank you so so much for uploading this and keeping it public - my only wish is that I had investigated years ago as it would have save so much time and hassle, haha.
Thank you Janis for your support. I've tried to keep tutorials to the point as I know how frustrating it is when you just want to know how to do something quickly.
Absolutely LOVE your videos. Definitely appreciative. Just curious if there is a reason you chose to use Copy Module Styles as opposed to Extend Module Styles to that row? Looking forward to learning more from your channel.
Thank you! I had issues with 'extend' not working as expected on that particular occasion i.e. not 'extending' to all places I was expecting. This may have been addressed as there were an number of early issues with Global Colors. One of the greatest frustrations of YT for me is not being able to edit a video and re-post without losing views and hours.
Dear Sir, i found this tutorial incredibly helpful. In fact, i love ALL of your tutorials because they are very structured and well-explained. They go just a little bit beyond the usual tutorials you find and cover topics more in-depth. Two questions about this tutorial: 1. Once you have set the Global Color Palette, is there any way you can export this so you can upload these Global colors into another website? 2. Is it possible to change the order of the swatches once you have created a Global palette? For instance, when you add another color in a later stage, how can you position this in order of gradient? Thanks in advance!
Thank you and I am glad you found this helpful. If you save a section/row/module that uses global colors to the library and then export this then the colors are saved too and will import into another site. The swatches are just columns and you can re-order them by dragging their position in the 'row' settings dialogue. You cam duplicate and edit to create more swatches and create a new row if you need more. I hope this helps.
@@divicoaching Thanks so much for your quick reply! It is very helpful, thanks! As for question 2 i actually meant when you want to change the order of the swatches within the settings (not on the page itself), but i might be way too nitpicky about this :-)
Wow thank you! There is a bit of health warning with the global colours and some people have had issues with them in the odd place where Divi bakes the color into static styles. I find it is 95% good but if you change a global colour you need a good check through the site and might need to fix the odd item. You get the honour of being the first person to hit me with the "super thanks" 🙏. Much appreciated. I really don't know now whether to crack on with more D4 tutorials now or move to 5 and start getting everything ready for the release...
@@divicoaching Yeah, I'd say wait for D5 at this point. I noticed in a recent update they've just let us know about WP Manage style site updating also which looks very useful!
Ok. I'll have a look. I'm in the beta programme so have been playing with 5 for a while. Think I better do a "first impressions" video next. Anyway thanks and sláinte!
I'm not sure what you mean. Do you want to change the font colour sitewide in Divi? If so then you go to the customized and find typography settings. You can choose the default text and heading font colours here.
