@@johnt9418 Compared to the historical average PER (x27) of SPGI, it is currently high. However, I buy good companies without looking at the price. I am buying Visa first because its weight in my portfolio is low. If SPGI's weight was lower, I think I would buy SPGI.

Got to 50 shares of SCHD on Friday and will be buying 1 share of SCHD every Friday after split (some Fridays will buy Two). Also been buying V. Great Live!!
Sorry I missed the show, bought some SCHD, DGRO, BRKB before the rise, CVX early in the week, KO, WM, PG, V, MO, O, all on the dip, then some AMZN, GOOGL, and MSFT for options trading.
My dividend story started shortly after my wife died in 2023. So I need extra income to support myself and my 2 little kids. Been doing dividends for about 5 months now.
Wow, I'm terribly sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how hard that has been to go through. You're doing something very positive with investing though, so great job!
Hi Ryne, you're the primary reason I began my dividend journey. I truly appreciate all the work you put in, and I’m sure there are moments when even you might not fully grasp the impact and motivation you bring to your audience. Keep up the great work, man!
Thank you my friend. I can't tell you how much it means to me to read that. It's comment like this that keep me going. Keep up the great work yourself!
Dang. Went for an hour walk and forgot about the LIVE. Damn. Bought SCHD and OBDC last week. I only buy once a month. Investing origin story: In Aug '23 I sold my Don Mattingly PSA collection and other cards for about $14K and decided to invest it. Port is now at 32K.
What got me into investing? Well, I was browsing YT one day and I came across this baseball player sharing his dividend portfolio from his dinner table. He seemed like a genuine fellow with his act together, so I followed. After a few years, it turns out he not only had his act together but was still making moves to advance in his career and in life. Since following, we've both made tremendous strides and it's been a wonderful trip. Oh, his name? It's been a while. His last name eludes me, but, Ryne...something.
It sure has been a wonderful trip...that baseball player guy sounds like a reject though! All jokes aside, thank you for all of your support over the years man. I appreciate it more than you know!
I stumbled upon some investment videos, one of them being one of your videos back in November 2022… Made my first purchase in February 2023 and here we are! 26:27
Hey Ryne, appreciate your content as usual! I had a baby recently and am looking into custodial accounts to park her gift money. As someone whose parents did this for, would you be able to share how much it helped or grew to by the time you could take it out? And any advice on where to open the account etc
Thank you my friend, and congratulations on the baby! To answer your question, it was a big help for me. By the time I started taking investing seriously at 26 years old or so, I had about $7k that had been building in the custodian account. That same account is what I now use as my main taxable account
This was my first week investing in dividend focus stocks. Before this was only maxing out my Roth ira. Always was super saver now wanna invest more money
My account did an all time high on Wednesday this week, then gave some back on Thursday. My REIT ran up from $15.13 three months ago to touch $20.38 briefly. - For what got me in to investing... Tried when I was in high school back in 1987, then didn't touch it again till 2023, after watching some day trading channels I tried that for a few months. While doing that I came across this channel and maybe two others and the idea to just invest for the snowball effect grew on me and I switched by September 2023. Did alright with Microsoft but really didn't like holding on to a nearly 40 p/e stock, so went for deep value at the start of this year.
I got into investing during Covid lockdown. I wanted to learn something, so decided on the stock market. First few months I brought hype everything, but later got into dividend investing.
@@rynewilliams me too! I'm also happy to have come across people like yourself, that are passionate about it, and that I can continue to learn from. Thanks Ryne.
