love seeing the happy couple. I only share my garden experiences with mom. maybe one day I will find my lucky guy to share the work and love of gardening with.
You are so lucky to have each other. I cleaned the gutters, removed a clog in the downspout and now must add gutter guard all by my 74 year old self !! Hard jobs do give more satisfaction. Now I can start my fall clean up with some transplanting . ohhhh the joy! lol You men are an inspiration to me. Love love love the colors of it all. The drifts and flow of it all is to die for. You are artists. oxox
😂Jeez Louise indeed! I was laughing so hard watching you dig that out. I have a lace elderberry tower that stays very narrow that you might like for that application. So far it seems to be very hardy and very low maintenance. No pruning or anything needed.
I just found your channel & am wondering where have you been all my gardening life? Gorgeous gardens, easy to follow instructions with very personable hosts. Time for me to get back to my own gardening but tonight it will be a glass of wine while binge-watching your channel! Thanks for sharing your gardens with us.
Good morning! Enjoying your video with my morning cup of tea. I am in Northern Virginia and I did lots of editing and dividing over the weekend. Happy gardening to you both😊
Good morning. Thank you for keeping it real. Editing the garden can be rewarding especially dividing perennials. Who doesn't love free plants? You complement each other so well.
I'm new to your channel and I love watching you guys! Your gardens are beautiful and I love your ideas about planting. I'm amazed by your willingness to fight the deer with so many hydrangeas. I have over 6 acres in RI and I've given up fighting the deer-they completely destroy my hydrangeas despite sprays and various other deterrents. Love your determination!! 😊
Purple leaf Sand Cherry’s are not known for great performance. I dug one up just like you’re doing and they’re stubborn. If they performed as well as those stubborn roots what a plant it would be! In our new place I planted one this spring. It’s leaves fell off mid summer. Think I’m going to pop it out before it gets dug in, I’m too old to fight the root battle.
Hi guys. Love, love your videos. I see you throwing a handful of something before you replant. What is it? Because of you both ,this year i have payed a lot more attention to my flower beds. Thank you so much
Nice video- you guys work so well together! I’ve been dealing with those pesky invasive Japanese beetles too, ugh. Have had to resort to picking them off my zinnias, which helped, but ick. Gardening isn’t always glamorous as you say!😊
Good morning ☀️ enjoying your video with morning coffee. Love your garden. I am patiently waiting for mine to grow up and fill in! Favorite ground covers?
I love your videos!!!! I learn so much and I have been gardening for 20+ years! I have pen and pencil in my hand to write down all your recommendations and plants. Where do you get your hosta's? Do you shop locally or have you found a good on-line source?
Oh gosh, we have sourced plants all over the place. Many of our hostas were end of season clearance buys...I've already done some dividing of the big ones. Our trees need to grow faster to keep up with the shade perennials!
I think you guys did an excellent job!!! Do you have any problems with slugs? My salvia was attacked by them! I used slug granules around them but the slugs won!😢
How do you keep the deer from eating on your 100+ hydrangeas? I love your allium planting trick to deter them but your big beautiful long hedges of hydrangeas seem so exposed to deer grazing. You have probably answered this question before but I just recently discovered your channel. You two are so great together ❤
We are very lucky that the deer seem to prefer only a few varieties. They leave the limelights alone. The Quick Fire and the Sublime are the only ones they seem to favor. I’ll be putting chicken wire around them all for winter
Good morning Eric and Christopher ❤ just watched your newest video. It was fantastic both of you are great together love how great you both work together to make such a beautiful statement in your garden 🪴❤️❤️. So question 😂 do you get your perennials from a local nursery or do you order online or both? Thank you boys❤❤❤
Thank you! I think we have perennials from every possible source. We've ordered some....but we are very lucky to have a whole bunch of local nurseries.
@@growformegardening thank you Eric 👏🏻👍🏻😄. Are you willing to share a couple nursery names I would love to check them out if I haven’t already 😂👍🏻. You’re a doll thanks again💖😄
Hi. I have a few questions. I thought salvia was an annual ( the pink potion) or is it just certain kinds ? Second: I planted 2 Patriot hostas on the east side of my house that gets shade. The leaves look burnt BUT my Japanese painted fern, brunnera and coral bells are fine. Is this brown on the hostas actually burnt or could they just be dying ? Thank you for your thoughts 💜💕
There are perennial and annual salvias. Both of the varieties we worked on in this video are perennials. Do you think the Patriots need a little more water? Try googling "hosta leaves browning"...there must be someone who has posted all the different ailments.
I planted 6 patriot hostas and 3 drinking gourd hostas on a shady bank. Their leaves turned brown but they have since rebounded. I think the brown leaves were due to transplant shock which happens sometimes when dividing perennials.
Just beautiful! Spiders are good, they eat the bad pests…so I’ve been told 🤷🏻♀️ Many gardeners won’t even disturb their web. Love your content and how relatable you are, such a pleasure to watch. Thank you 🇨🇦
Great that you show the reality of gardening. Not everything can be executed as planed but it all works out in the end. You need a shovel with a decent handle. Save your back!
So much work!! Gives me motivation to divide and rearrange. Just looks so fresh. I always worry I'm killing things but you guys made it look manageable. Thank you for sharing 🌿❤
As Christopher was cutting down the vine I couldn't help but notice the combo of perennials by it, heuchera, sedum, and fountain grass. You just inspired me to purchase those dark foliage plants. You make a great team! Thank you for posting!!!!
First time seeing your video, such a pleasure to watch. Beautiful garden!!! Such varieties of flowers & colours!!! I love how you move things around. Moving plants is a good thing to see a different perspective. Love your mum's, I have many colours too & my favorite is the coral. Busy making Fall containers, using variety of kales & cabbage that will look stunning as the season progresses. Love how your dividing your perennials, big job. Doing the same here in Toronto, Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 zone 5.
@@growformegardening I'll be subscribing to you guys. You are areal joy to watch You work well together & love following authentic people. I would love all that space for gardens!!!! Great job & totally agree with the work in Fall is as much if not more than Spring. Looking forward to seeing you more. Cheers, your new Canadian friend in Toronto, Ontario 🇨🇦😊
You guys are the best! I loved watching Eric dig that sand cherry out, garden struggles are real ( so is swearing!😁) ! I have that thumbergia on a 1/2 moon trellis behind a garden statue. I kept the vines trimmed up and yes it’s a bear to remove...but oh so worth it! The yellow blooms framing the statue were so pretty. I need that mini shovel in my life! 🍂🍁🇨🇦
