I know u haven’t reviewed Divine Beast Vah Meadow yet but when u do, I think something you would find interesting is that the jerk face bird SOS signal doesn’t start right away in the song unlike the other champions SOS signals do. It’s because that stupid bird didn’t want Links help at first. Also, this dungeon has the easiest boss outta the four dungeons for me in the entire game. The second easiest is obviously WindBlight and the hardest boss in the entire game is easily ThunderBlight.
A really cool detail I know is that if you go into the dungeon then warp out before beating out and climb all the way up death mountain again, yunobo will actually be up there and mention how you got back so quickly, and by jumping down into the crater you load into the divine beast rather than having a barrier like the others, I've never seen this documented but I have done it myself
I did this exact thing while recording footage for this one, which is how I got one specific angle of the beast from above the crater. Yunobo’s surprise is always a good chuckle haha.
Recently learned a fact about the S.O.S. signal. The S O S doesn't actually stand for anything. It's just the fastest combo of letters that can be typed out in Morse code
When initially conceived in the early 1900s it didn’t stand for anything and was a code to call for help, yes, but as time goes on the meaning of language evolves, the meaning of “save our ship” or “save our soul” has become common association. Regardless, it doesn’t change the significance or meaning of the SOS being present in the music. Even if it isn’t an actual acronym, it is still a call for help.
@@CaptBurgerson didn't say anything about it's presence in the music. Was just stating a cool fact I learned. But yes, it being the fastest code in Morse code is why it's the rescue signal
The good news for you is if BOTW2 has underground exploration then there should be a lot of cool dark, ambient settings. Same with underwater depending how deep you can go. I remember getting similar vibes swimming down into the depths to access the Lakebed Temple in TP, kinda creepy since you can’t see too far in any direction.
BotW was my first full LoZ game. As such it took me way too long to figure out that throwing a bomb into the vacuum was the way to break its shield. I never did great at shield parrying so this video is the first I found out about knocking back the fireballs. Thanks Daniel.
Pretty sure that the Divine Beast Vah Rudania was patterned after the salamander, which was in ancient times once believed to be a sort of corporeal manifestation of fire. The notion is still often utilized even today in numerous works of mythology and fantasy.
That makes sense, from a real life standpoint. The behind the scenes book Creating A Champion supports this by calling it “Fire Relic Salamander” as a sort of working title. My speculation on the subject was from a more in-universe standpoint though.
at 5:14 that was a smooth action, Breaking your drillshaft killing that moblin only to catch it's drillshaft before it hit the ground. So Stylish I had to comment before finishing the rest of the video, Looking great so far!
This is one of my favourite dungeons. I don’t mind the escort mission you have to do with Yunobo at the beginning but this dungeon is great cause it feels a little unique with the darkness and the rotating the dungeon like Stone Tower in Majoras Mask
This is a very great video! My favorite part about making my way to Val Rudania is using magnesis and picking up those big metal boxes and killing the enemies with them that was hilarious to me! 🤣 this way you can save your weapons to you really using for the important stuff.
This video is SO SMOOTH! I’m used to amazing content from you by now but I don’t take for granted the work that goes into it. I love the attention to detail! You’re right, the boss is a bit predictable, it’s like really Daruk??? Also Yunobo is a precious baby!
Fun fact : the goron selling the fire breaker armor have a special quote if arent wearing the armor or dont have an elexir runinng. I learn that by brute focing my way to the village with fairy and max hp up food
Another great video! And I'm so glad you were able to make use of my comment from the previous video too. Really looking forward to Vah Medoh and Vah Nabooris!
Great video!! I loved what you had to say about the music and didn't know the piece was a throw back! I'm excited to see which beast you will go to next 😊👍🏼
As always, absolutely great breakdown, editing, opinion & assumptions. Love your input and use of polygons for the maps now. Always an easy watch and great pacing. Good work bud, keep it up!
Yay!! #2!! I think this Divine Beast is my favorite of the lot, gotta be honest. I also love the darkness in the beginning and the puzzles - when I finally figured them out the first time, I felt awesome, haha! Now I breeze through it, but it's still fun! Really great points and finds regarding the music! The morse code stuff is so interesting to me, and I love your interpretation of Daruk's energy being put into the track. Daruk is my favorite champion :D Okay, okay, I'll relax about the butt 😂 Big agree about Fireblight being supes easy, but like you, I still enjoy the fight, even if it takes less than a minute 😂 That's pretty insane though, right? You'd think the devs would steer you toward Vah Rudania first, being that it's so easy! But that's BOTW for ya ;) Awesome bideo, Capt!!
Oh heck yeah! Recently finished everything the game has to offer in terms of quests, including the DLC, best 5 year journey ever! (And I’ve only managed to finish about 30% of the game lol)
I would say it's hard to judge the difficulty of the bosses in this game and a bit unfair to ask for more difficulty as not everyone has the master sword and big inventory in these early dungeons. I would even argue that the natural progression would want us to get the master sword AFTER rudania but I digress. While fireblight is really the easiest, I find waterblight very challenging early when you're equipped with few low might weapons and even less arrows
Divine Beast Vah Rudania is definitely an improvement over Vah Ruta, though imo it's still extremely weak compared to dungeons in previous Zelda games. At least this dungeon breaks the Divine Beast formula a little bit with the darkness section in the beginning (even though the idea of lighting torches in the dark is hardly a new concept), but it's very short lived and then after that it just plays like a typical Divine Beast. I will say that this has the best manipulation out of all the Divine Beasts, with the 90 degree rotating of the dungeon almost reminding me of Stone Tower Temple.
Great video as always, but the death mountain is remixed before this point at least once, as it’s used for the fire temple theme in four swords adventures
You are correct, as another commenter has pointed out. I missed that while writing this video and then realized when I was streaming that game about a year ago now and felt v silly
If you want to be even sadder about the S.A.D. morse code, think about this. It might not be coming from Ganon at all. It wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that it was coming from the Divine Beast itself. A message to anyone still alive that while the champion can't be saved, that the divine beast should be sought out and destroyed so that it couldn't fall into Ganons hands and be used to torment Hyrule. Now I've made myself sad again.
It is this song! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9K8NuBsb8rg.html All music in my videos that isn’t game OST is music that I’ve written for these videos, but I also post the songs on their own.
death mountain was actually oficially remixed befor botw ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2UoFqL4kSp8.html this music comes from the game "BS The legend of zelda" a zelda 1 remake on the "Satellaview" a japanese accsesory for the SNES that let's you play broadcated game
Yeah but that is a remake, so that song being redone there makes sense. I realized some time later though that it also gets a remix in Four Sword’s Adventures as e well, so that is my mistake
Please stop saying “in my opinion” at the end of every paragraph. We know how to recognize your opinions. Otherwise, decent video essay. Please keep making these. I’m looking forward to Hyrule Castle.
Here's the thing: if people like him aren't overly careful in expressing when something is their opinion, they get torn apart by toxic Zelda fans claiming the respective creator is stating something as fact. I hope you can find some understanding.
@@biCARRIEous Torn apart by RU-vid comments? Come on. Most Zelda tubers don’t use “in my opinion” as punctuation, and none of them have to. If a rare commenter gets obnoxious, then they can be blocked.
You are both correct in some senses. I never want people to conflate the objective with subjective, so I try to be clear about it, but I hear the feedback and it is something I’ll take into account. That said, yeah, many commenters on RU-vid are not exactly known for being savants of critical thinking. It is a difficult balance. I know I’ll never please everybody, and I’ve made peace with that fact.
