Diving at Sail Rock and ATTACKED BY TRIGGERFISH in Koh Phangan / Thailand Travel Vlog

Sail Rock is the premier scuba diving site in the Gulf of Thailand. It rises up 8m out of the water and the dive site has a maximum depth of over 40m. There is a variety of fish, including soldierfish, blue-spotted trout hiding out in the shadows and one of the dangerous and aggressive ones - triggerfish which I was encountered during my dive. It’s about 50-60cm in length and has the human-sized teeth designed for crunching through hard shells and coral and can inflict serious wounds. Their bites can cause infection as they contain Ciguatoxin, which is a natural poison. Luckily managed to escape!

Looks like an amazing dive even if the trigger fish didn't take kindly to the intrusion! Love the funny little yellow thing that hid from the camera when you came close!

The underwater world is truly amazing! Every diving it keeps surprising me with its diversity and beauty. But this beast triggerfish was pretty aggressive, even instructor said he's never seen it's been so much aggressive. Luckily managed to escape!

@@mashemel Would this fish have bitten you if you let it get near you? It was small. Did you have anything to fight the fish with...like a knife or fish spray (kidding about the spray). The music was very majestic! Also, the fish were fantastic. There were a couple toward the end that seemed very exotic. Very beautiful video, and dramatic and exciting danger... Thanks for sending me this video!

Did you escape by flipping your flippers at the triggerfish?

It's not small, it's about 60 cm long and it has the teeth of the human size! Visually everything seems to be smaller underwater. Luckily I didn't get bitten as I was fighting with it hard always turning with fins towards it, but it took a while

The instructor finally noticed me fighting with this fish and he arrived to pull me out. Not sure if I would've managed to escape by myself ...
