Rookie mistake it can happen to the best of us……..no not checking your machine before getting into the water, but changing your old rotten torn up gloves for new ones!! What were you thinking?? 😳😂 Well you know better than most of us Carter, crap happens! I look forward to seeing your next weeks adventure. 👍
@@DetectorComparisons I know what you mean. Two years ago I loaded up brand new batteries into my CZ-21 and gave it a test run before I took it out for a dive, I made it out just a little further than you when i realized something was wrong. Turned out I didn’t align the gasket properly and flooded the control box. Luckily I was able to send it to Fisher to get it fixed, but I felt like a tool. The worst part was leaving my CTX-3030 2 hours away because I already had my Deus with me for the dry hunt I was going to do later, and didn’t feel like dragging three machines around. At least you had Mike to share machines, I was on my own and none too pleased! LOL…..
been there.. nothing worse than an hours drive great expectations and flat battery i now all ways have a set of batterys in the spare carrier that comes with the beach hunter and the same with the ctx. on that note they last longer than the rechargeable carriers.
Good vid. tough work, cool! May I ask why you prefer the Pi over the Excalibur? Doesn't the Excal have discrimination from iron and junk metals to save you digging all the targets? Or does the pi have some advantage? Cheers! Happy hunting
The Excalibur is definitely my go-to machine but there are times I use the TDI simply because it goes deeper. If I'm in an area without much iron junk, I'll use the TDI because it will hear a lady's ring at 12" clearly where the Excalibur will not. You'll notice a large percentage of my dives are with the Excal, Thanks
@@DetectorComparisons cool. Thanks for that makes sense. I've got the whites Pi and the excal. My pi doesn't have much depth but it's zero interference or buzz. My first scuba dive with the pi surf master dual field, was in an extremely high trash swim hole and it was all old aluminium. Digging for days 😅 some great vids on your chanel, have to look at some more. Cheers!
I live in New York State and I was wondering how do you find these old swimming spots loaded with silver and gold. I have tried a lot of places and never found anything But pull tabs and fishing weights
I've been doing this a long time and I could tell you one of the best ways is to go look at old postcards and other photographs. You learn a lot about where they used to swim and that has led me to a lot of good spots. There was also a huge storm in 1938 that took out most of the northeast coast. I look at old maps and compare them to current maps to see which dock sites were blown away and never rebuilt. That always works well. Good luck!
On the metal shaft being too long I just tried my Symplex upper and it works serious detector has them for $21 just ordered me one to put in the chop shop
