The best part of Um Oh Ah Yeh is when the paparazzi mistook Moonbyul for an actual guy during filming thinking Solar was on a real date 😂

before debut moonbyul was told not to smile as big cause people apparently didn't think she looked pretty, meanwhile her little nose scrunch is one of the cutest things ever

They really keep on making goofy songs like Aze gag and Waggy 😁 Waggy live stages are true gems!!

The lyrics "me, me 4 with sun" in Yes I am means "I love myself". In Korean, 4 is 'sa', with is 'rang', sun is 'hae' Combine those three and you get saranghae which means (I) love. So she's basically saying she loves herself.

There's no MV for it, but Sleep in the Car by Mamamoo is also a bop. So background, during their filming for an MV (i forget which), they were complaining about having to sleep in the car with make up on because their schedule was so busy that they didnt have time to take it off. And they were like, "we should totally make a song about this." And they did. Our queens did. (No MV again, but also, ZzZz is great which from my understanding is about being bored. That said, I also love their ability to write songs about anything and everything).

um oh ah yeah got them lots of recognition because of how much they'd do funny adlibs during their music show performances!! and they carried on that tradition with their you're the best music show performances as well!!

1CM IS WHAT MADE ME A FAN OF MAMAMOO, RIGHT AFTER IT CAME OUT!!! I fell in love with this group after seeing 1cm. Actually 1cm was a prerelease for the album that You're The Best was the title track of, Melting, in 2016. I encountered the group after seeing 1 cm, and after diving into their music and live performances and behind the scenes content I was a hardcore fan by the time the actual title track came out. Mamamoo have the most electric chemistry both onstage and off, they're both so talented and so hilarious and charismatic, it's really incredible.

I SEE MAMAMOO, I CLICK. Thank you for loving them as much as we love them. Um Oh Ah Yea cracks me up to no end. Byul with that short hair looked like Xiumim from EXO and BTOB’s Minhyuk. This was the first song I actually heard from Mamamoo. Yul, Ricky and Kuku were Byul’s, Hwasa and Wheein’s guy names. Wheein and the food the entire time is a mood. The girl pretend to be a guy definitely remind me of She’s the Man and Motocrossed. And them dissing each other about the 1cm is also hilarious. Yes I am is a great song too, the lyrics. They have a song “Sleeping in the car” that was inspired by them complaining about sleeping in the car.. their CEO basically told them to write that song because of how much they complained. And the dad joke filled AZE GAG. Waggy is another silly b-side.

I recommend the Mamamoo songs that are for commercials. Commercial Ad Songs: Gleam, Wanna Be Myself, Everyday, Woo Hoo. They are true bops, who ask nothing of their comebacks. They're even better than many of their b-sides in my opinion.

We thought y'all would find "Um Oh Ah Yeh" funny. Love that song with their humor. FYI: where they stop to say "OH MY GOSH" they adlib it differently everytime they perform it live

And so many more. And they actually do Pokemon OST cover live.

You're the Best era Wheein is a top 3 Wheein look for me. She's so cute. Also this era and UOAY era are peak stage presence because they did a different adlib for every performance.

They are all beautiful. And what’s sad, is by traditional Korean beauty standards……they fall short. Solar actually talks about it in an interview. Basically they were told by the label, because they are short and not pretty, they were only going to be successful based off their vocal talent and good song choices. I think it’s also why the label chose to focus more on showing their personalities in the MVs more so than other groups at the time, instead of going for the more visual route, which was the trend.

I can relate to you. Wayback before, I knew a lot of kpop groups and listen to random kpop songs but I never stan a group because I just don't like. But when I came across Mamamoo, I dive in and I was drowned and now I'm a die hard moomoo. There is just something special in then that I watched all their mvs and listyen to all their songs.

In Um Oh Ah Yeah, while Solar is playing a whole set of typical male fantasy women, she is acting like the guy. Continuing to pursue Moonbyul when "he" is clearly not interested. Also the dance sequences are set in the men's room and in a barbershop to signal that they are taking on male spaces. For their stages of this they always come up with different adlibs in the Oh My God part. Hwasa's character is Ricky and the behind the scenes for this is especially great. This is pretty much always played at Korean pride events. Like Sleep in the Car, 1cm came out of them complaining and being told to make a song out of it. Apparently the height difference though small is enough that they need to adjust the mike in the recording studio when they go from one to the other. I have a theory about the celebration at the end of You're the Best. The last shot of each of them with the guy (a member of Vromance) it looks like they are getting tired of helping him with things. So they are initially upset about a new group of women catching his attention but then actually relieved. This is another where they improvise a new adlib with each stage.
